  1. It helps when the scheme has a sticker strip between each colour. Hides a multitude of sins!!!!
  2. There’s several different Old Spice Calibras. This is mine . They all look really cool
  3. This is definitely on my radar . Can’t decide between this and the Squash Van. This is looking fairly tough!!!
  4. Not really, haven’t run anything much but what little have it’s a blast. It benefits from a gyro especially if you have a powerful brushless/ lipo set up. Suspension works really well and looks like a real truck especially on undulating tracks. A great choice and a halfway between RTR and a kit
  5. Certainly not on my deadbolt RTR. Might be on the Basecamp ( I think it’s called) they are fitted to the Chevy K10 basecamp but I can’t seem to find them on anything else!
  6. A picture paints a 1000 words!!! The rears stick out quite a bit with the MB01. Thin hexes might just do it but I still think it will tight if you want it to look like the M06?
  7. @Re-BuggedOoops yes. That was cm’s not mm’s my mistake!!! @JimBear no quite the opposite. Because the MB01 has a wider track than the M05 it’s more likely to rub. I think when the body was used before they used 55mm tyres on the front and 60mm on the rears so no change there. I’ve just bought a set one price lightweight one piece aluminium axles as they give some variation to track width. Only arrive yesterday and haven’t had a chance to try them out on the MB01.
  8. This started me thinking ( though the image seems to have disappeared) as yes the rear end looks awful and then I thought about the Abarth front wheels rubbing. I got my M06 Alfa and my MB01 Abarth and did a vet unscientific test with a pencil and a ruler. hopefully you can see from the image that the MB01 has a front and rear track width of 16.5mm whilst the Alfa has a track width of 16mm front and 16.3mm rear. This would cause all of the above problems, ie the wheels sticking out to far at the rear and rubbing the arches at the front. My M05 chassis has almost identical track width to the M06 so again would account for the issues with the Abarth body when used on an 05 as opposed to the MB01? Both the chassis’s are set up stock with regard to toe etc.
  9. Actually now some of the re release Airfix kits are being put right. The transparency for the Beagle Bassett 206 was nigh on impossible to fit in the original kit. When it was re issued recently they could not either find the mould for the transparency or it was too damaged so they reverse engineered a new sprue but using modern CAD etc they made it fit. There are other examples of this including the Auster Antarctica. Also it should be pointed out that Airfix truly do listen to their customers as testified by some of the superb models that have been produced recently.
  10. I get it even less now having seen the video . It looks like a toy pram being pushed across pebbles?
  11. I’m sorry but I just don’t get this. It’s neither one thing no t’other. I love the body but wasn’t it originally a hard body, at least one you could paint. I really can’t see what its market is. The Squash van I get though don’t like the pre painted shell but this well🤷‍♂️
  12. The MB01 steering and body rub situation comes to mind. Who built and ran these before they were released. Surely Tamiya have some very experienced drivers that they can call on to iron out basic issues. If they’re short of people I’m due to retire from the bus company soon. First class flights to and from Japan say 3,times a a year for track testing🤞🏻
  13. Very much feeling this. The summer my favourite running time was blown out of the water by the loss of both my parents within six weeks of each other. They were both good ages, 98 and 95 and the last couple of years haven’t been much fun for them, but it came like a bolt out of the blue. Completely knocked me sideways and most things suffered, especially hobby based. I did build a BB01 but it was just a process with no real emotion. So much so I think I’ve only posted a couple of photos and it’s not finished yet. Now in my case it was a fairly catastrophic dump but I can understand how you suddenly get to a point when you have almost become saturated with the hobby and need a rest. In fact I think I was reaching this point before all my troubles.. I started with a CC01 in 2019 thinking this hobby would be just a bit of fun. Move on to 2023 /4 and I have over 40 models, not all Tamiya, and counting. Technically I have run out of space but I seem to just keep going. I need to sell some stuff to get some breathing space but when I look at them all it’s like trying to choose your least favourite child😳 I rarely do box art which a makes them very personal and b less saleable!! Having said all of the above I can feel the mood returning, have 2 m-chassis builds and 3 bodies to do, also trying to decide between a Squash Van or a Gorgon!!!! So to paraphrase maybe a rest is good. I fall back on my air rifles which help me chill out and yes feed the birds and if you are lucky enough to garden get out in to it or at least some open space. I think @Ferruz has a great way of enjoying his hobby. Small but immaculate collection and boy does he use them in some of the most gorgeous locations!!! Keep the faith , your wealth of RC knowledge is always enjoyed as are some of your thought provoking topics.
  14. That’s an interesting observation. I’ve built one recently but for some reason didn’t feel the urge to document it. Not sure why as actually it’s quite an interesting build. For various reasons I haven’t had the opportunity to run much rc stuff recently so again mines only really been run on my driveway and the street. I’m going back to using the Abarth shell as In spite of the fact that you get some wheel rubbing at the front it looks really good. I’m awaiting some stickers to do more of an on road car rather than a racer. Will post pictures when it’s done. I’ve got 3 m-chassis bodies to do so I need to get my finger out before the weather turns!!
  15. Should say I never tried it with the gyro turned off yet and it’s TT on 2s lipo!!
  16. Never seen these guys before, what a scream. I have to say I agree 100% with his description. I’m no racer but just running around on the street I got the impression it wouldn’t be a racer. Have to say gyro makes it track straight though.
  17. I’ve had the same issue. I put a washer that is slightly bigger than the ball on and it’s not come out since!!
  18. I agree it may be a loosing battle but I’ll have a go. It’s a shame as the body is a masterpiece!!! If it doesn’t work I may try it on a fwd chassis to use it!!!
