I've never painted it. I know I was missing crossbars, and bought new ones for WW2. I did upload original pics(somewhere), before I started restoring. The battery looks great. I have a new charger that is better than I had. Previous battery may have been with this charger. I still have some original decals.

Thank you guys (especially Overlander). The battery arrived today. Well packaged and postage was reasonable.

Thank you. The Wheelspin looks perfect. Hopefully freight isn't too much.

I found this, which is related to a previous post of mine. https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/101435-retrovintage-remake-of-the-classic-battery-cases/

Hi, I've been looking through posts and had no luck, yet.. I have an original Wild Willy from 1984, that I restored, after spending 30+ years in neglect. I managed to obtain a Hump Pack battery several years ago from the UK, and it worked. However, I was too scared to use it too much, then the next time I udsed it the battery was dead ( think I may have disposed of it). When I looked at the Ebay site again, they had no stock available. I've been unable to locate this recently. I've seen a few posts about hacking the original case, which I think I may have disposed of. So, What would be the best solution? Is there a battery available somewhere, Or will I need to buy Sanyo/Panasonic 'C' type batteries? Can you use a LiPo substitute? (I assume not)

Just thinking out of the square, but I wonder how well 3D Printe tyres made from TPU would go?

Hi All. I found this today on Ebay in Victoria, Australia. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/333196884661

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've found one place that can help me with the balance needed (I think) going on above information. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RC-Hobbywing-Quicrun-60A-2S-3S-Waterproof-Brushed-ESC-for-1-10/152241179750?hash=item2372480c66:g:~g8AAOSwM~taZT1C https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RC-HobbyKing-High-Torque-Analog-Servo-W-Pproof-40g-4-5kg-0-13s/161492605707 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RC-Hobbyking-GT2E-AFHDS-2A-2-4ghz-2-Channel-Radio-System/151570624965

Hi. They are rechargeable.
-
Sorry it should have read 8 × 1.2v
-
I have to admit, I am not that familiar with all the terms etc. According to another forum, my transmitter is ok. Because there are 8 x 1.2v in, the meter reading is low. Correction re batteries

Looks like my receiver is dead, as when initially I plugged the wires in, and smoke came from the crystal. I guess I need a new transmitter/receiver. The servos don't respond at all. When the nimh battery is plugged in, it goes in reverse and I can move the speed controller by hand. I was going to put the esc in to test it out, but was unsure what wires to connect up where. So this esc would be suitable? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F232917047564 As far As a transmitter and receiver https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F251470592111

Thanks for that info. If anything, I am just worried about the resistor melting the body, so if it's still usable, I'll stock with it, until I can buy the other one.

I've just ordered some j connectors and a esc from ebay item 111342562947https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HSP-1-16-RC-Car-Buggy-Truck-ESC-Part-03058-/111342562947&ved=2ahUKEwjeyKCWjNPhAhXCYysKHS-gA6gQjjgwAHoECAEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1RVhD8ldOYjoV9eXaJUfob Hsp 03058

Hi. New.
-
It works! Who'd think so after 30 years of inactivity. It looks like I will need some new futaba plugs, though what does the white wire do? It didn't look like it was attached to anything other than the far lug? The resistors started smoking up after being plugged in for a few minutes. I have tried looking for replacement plugs, but not had any luck. I have found j connectors, however I want to keep them similar to the original is possible.

I have to admit, I am not that familiar with all the terms etc. According to another forum, my transmitter is ok. Because there are 9 x 1.2v in, the meter reading is low.

Hi, this is continuing on from my Previous post. My battery arrived, however, I am still confused as to what servo motor to order. I only seem to find esc types? I am after one from the asian area as the freight will be cheaper.
-
-
Thanks for picking up on that about the servo controller. I live in Australia, so I have to look at anything from Asia. Batteries though I don't trust from China, and it was just as cheap ordering that pack from the UK as it was making one. I don't earn a great deal, so I have to be careful with my money.
-
Well, I've given it a clean, put grease (from my WW2) in the gears. I'll put some pics up later. Also, any feedback on my previous post would be great. I've ordered the battery from the UK.

I found some batteries to suit. Frog hump on eBay I have a wild Willy 2, so I could use the charger from that. I saw someone on here had soldered some c cells together, which I thought about doing. I saw this article using the Original cases . I assume a 2.4ghz transmitter/receiver like This will work. I found an msc on Ebay, so I assume that works with the existing servos?

Well. I bought some AA 1.2V batteries, and put them in the transmitter. There was slight movement in the signal meter. I tried to put batteries in the receiver case, but I think the insided might be heavilly corroded. I also had a rechargeable battery pack, as well as the charger for it, however the plugpack appears to be dead. No lights, but that could be the battery pack? I've sprayed the base/body with Isoprol alcohol (hopefully the tyres will be okay after a rinse). Unsure where to go from here.
-
Hi. Yes I bought it in 1984.
-
Further to my previous post, I now have my original Wild Willy. Below are pictures of all the gear, with some corrosion :-( The Dummy battery is missing from the Futaba 4CH Controller, however, I think this was to keep the violtage around 7.5V ??? I think I have a Futaba charger somewhere, which might be for the receiver? Looks like a bit of WD40, Isoprol Alcohol will be used. Tyres though dirty, might still be okay. It's a shame about the front bumper.
