  1. Yesterday was the first run of the year, the wheather was nice so I took my new build wild one to the beach and run 2 battery packs, the car run very great, and fun to drive, it was not flawless I has some small problems that I have to fix , first of al one of the front shocks lost all of the oil and get crunchy with sand in it, the front tires I did not glued and not filed the tiny holes in the rims, so the tires were full of sand, have to reinforce the body on the side because it has a small crack in it, and there was something wrong with the steering, turn out the new servo was full of sand, I running for 9 years my cars on the beach never had any servo with sand in it, and the stupid thing is I have the same servo for years in my fire dragon and its still fine, I am going to clean it and put it in a onroad car. Today it was the my new build squash van that I run on the beach, it passed its test with flying colors, with some mods, longer suspension arms and other shocks and tweaks this chassis is great, it runs and drives very well and is not tippy anymore , and it jumps good to, I do not see many squash vans on this forum but I can say it is great I love it, and I beat the crap out of it and nothing broke.
  2. Finished the build of the Squash Van. Build the car with long suspension arms, yeah racing shock towers, tamiya shocks, yeah racing knuckles and hubs, put an castle 3800kv motor in it with high speed gear and a 23 tooth pinion gear, and used absima wheels , with these tires and shocks and shocktowers the car bottoms out nice. I had al of the yeah racing parts, tamiya shocks and long suspension arms on my Tamiya wr-02, so I used all of the parts from that car, and rebuild the wr-02 with the new parts from the Squash van.
  3. Maybe a servo saver for a Losi Lmt wil work, aftermarket or stock, it that is a big heavy tire monster truck. and they are adjustable.
  4. Finished the wild one build, and gave it a little test run in the garden.
  5. After months of cold and damp weather, today it seemed like a spring day nice temp and not damp, so it was a good day to paint some bodies, with a lot of on going projects I needed to paint bodies to finish them. Flake with ps8 green on the squash van body, flake with ps33 cherry red on the td2 body that is for my td4, and ps 23 gun metal on the body for my wild one.
  6. I run and bash my lunchbox very hard with an castle 5700 kv motor in it , I never broke any servo saver, to be honest I never broke any servo saver on my cars. Maybe what you said, you had your end points not adjusted, maybe that is wat breaks the servo savers.s
  7. Which wheelbase do you have on your CC-02, I have the same driveshafts and they fit on the 252mm wheelbase. I have cut one of them but that was not necessary, it was me being stupid I made an mistake with the assembly of the c15/c16 I put them both on the wrong side, so the axle comes closer to the center gearbox. If you have the short wheelbase maybe they do not fit, but you can cut or grind them to lenght.
  8. Those m-05/ m-06 steeriing racks works perfectly in the wild one, I never saw it done before for, so I tought I share it here on the forum, so other members can use this idea if the want to change the steering on a wild one I used a lowprofile servo I had one in my stash it fits perfect under the dashboard.
  9. Put some new wheels and tires on my cc-02 very happy with them, the look good and there are pretty straight to, al lot of time wheels have a wobble in them even the alloy or metal ones, these ones not.
  10. I wanted to put a better servo saver and thicker steering rods in my new wild one build, but after trying a lot of different servo savers tamiya high torqeu, 3 racing and kimbrough and different rods I gave up none of them work, then I got the Idea maybe an steering rack wil work, so I took the steering rack out of my Tamiya m-05. The steering rack fits like a glove, bolted straight on the mounting points of the servo, then I made some alloy servo mounts and moved the servo to another place in the chassis, it works like a charm everything clears, no binding and no more bump steer.
  11. buy something like this motor is basically a 380 motor in a 540 can, these motors are cheap, buy the lowest 3000kv version, they are a little faster but not super fast. https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005007453104205.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller.5.73119ZHI9ZHIbd&gps-id=pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40196.422467.0&scm_id=1007.40196.422467.0&scm-url=1007.40196.422467.0&pvid=f5061d13-4788-415c-8f6f-8544c76981b2&_t=gps-id:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40196.422467.0,pvid:f5061d13-4788-415c-8f6f-8544c76981b2,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238107%231934&pdp_npi=4%40dis!EUR!25.37!16.49!!!186.68!121.34!%40211b612817373974890758201e051b!12000040818933604!rec!NL!751247182!XZ&utparam-url=scene%3ApcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller|query_from%3A
  12. This tires and wheels looks good under this ford body, also the size of the tires.
  13. How big are your tires ?, I just ordered some 94 mm tires for my cc-02 with some 1,55 ich steel beadlock rims, did not want to go with a to big tire and keep the scale look.
  14. This week I started to build my new Wild One kit, today I worked on the suspension, the front shocks I had build but they where overdamped and to hard, the same for the rear shocks the springs are to stiff, and I did not have other springs for it. So the front of the shocks I reassamble, I took a little file en open up the holes in the shock pistons and I left the red shock adjuster out of it, and at the bottom of the shock I put a red o ring so that the spring stays in place and do not wobble arround. For the rear shocks I had some Gmade shocks in my stash with a lot of different springs for it and they had the perfect lenght, so I used them instead of the stock ones, put a bumpstop on the shocks to prefent that the trailing arms hit the rollcage. The suspension is now nice and smooth, a lot better then stock.
  15. This nice 2 kits, wanted both of them for some time, and now they where both on sale so I had to buy them.
  16. finished the cc-02 build, and done a small test run in the garden. So far it runs nice and the drivetrain is very quiet, I am running a tenshock 6 pole brushless motor in it, the only thing I need to do is buy other tires and wheels.
  17. the last 6 weeks or so I spent on swapping rooms in the house and finaly after 3 years I have my own room again. We have 3 bedrooms in this house and 1 room on the top floor, the 2 bedrooms are the same size and 1 is small, one of the bedrooms was my hobby room, and when my little girl was born she had the smallest room in the house, the other room was the master bed room with a king size bed in it and the top floor room was my wifes hobby room. So when my little girl get older she needed a bigger room so she has got my hobby room, then I shared the top room with my wife, but to be honest that room was a big pile of stuff from my wife and it was more like a storage room for al or stuff and is was a pink with yellow room, so it never feld like my own place. My wife and I sleep separate for years now and I was the only person that sleeps in the king size bed, so I decidid to throw away the king size bed and give the master bed room to my wife, so thats now her hobby room, the smallest room of the house is now my wifes sleeping room, and I have got the top floor room of the house and that is the biggest room of the house, I am happy I have my own room again. I have to buy some more ikea cabinets, some kallax that I can stack behing the 2x5 compartment cabinets and some ohter shelfs and cabinets because I have more kits to build that are hidden onder the bed and in other places. So what did I do today, I started to build my new cc-02.
  18. My wife and I have a monthly budget for hobby stuff, we have separated bank accounts, every month my wife transfers her money to mine bank account and keeps her budget for hobby stuff on her bank account so she can do wat she want with it, I pay al the bills, food and all the other stuff that we need to life, my wife has also the card of mine bank account with that she can buy stuff like clothes and things for our little daugther and other things that we need, but no hobby stuff, as long we can pay al the bills and all of the other things we need it is fine with me. Sometimes it happens that I spent more, and sometimes my wife want a little more budget, but it is not that I put that on a golden scale, it happens when I see things in sale that I want a few months of budget in advance, some times it happens to my wife but thats no problem. There are also times like last year I spent nothing for a half year and then have a shopping spree and spend 8 months budget in 1 month.
  19. My hot shot with a 17 tooth pinion and an fdr of 7.6 with the castle 5700 kv motor is very fast, I think top speed is between 70 or 80 kph, so that is not slow.
  20. I am not having a plan, but I have some unfinished builds that I have to do, but for me it is enjoy the hobby when I feel like it and when I do not I am doing other stuff and hobby's. my unfinished projects, I have 4 Ta-03 in parts with a lot of hopups and carbon chassis that lays around for some years from ta-03f, ta-03r, ta-03fs and ta-03rs. Tamiya cc-02 kit, that I only have painted the body from. Tamiya td4 that I have to build. Losi rock rey that is now in parts and I have to rebuild. Paint a new body for my kyosho mad wagon. Tamiya wild one kit NIB. better servo saver for my tamiya mf-01x And some other stuff on some cars that I forget.
  21. I am extra slow builder, I like to take my time and to not rush and check every step a few times, because I want to build it without mistakes. The extra slow is because I am chaotic, when start to build sooner or later it become a big pile of parts and tools and other stuff, and then I can't find the part that I need or the tool, so 50% of my time I spent searching for tools or parts , sometimes it frustrates me, I think its a ADHD thing. The wierd thing is that I do not like a messy or dirty house and I am organized, but if I am going to do something like odd jobs in the house or reparing my scooter or building kit or other stuff, I am just mister chaos and always lose something and them I have to spend time searching for stuff.
  22. The Hot shot, running mine for some years with an castle creations 5700 kv motor and did a lot of runs with it, the drivetrain is strong and can handle it, never broke anything on it, so it is durable, the only thing that wear is the rear outdrive cups, I only run this car on the beach. Firedragon or something with this chassis is a good option, but to be honest I have glue the counter gear to the shaft, because after 2 battery packs on a new build car with a 3800kv brushless motor in it the counter gear was completely rounded out, so the new counter gear I glue it to the shaft, and after that I had no more problems with it, I used a tt-02 centershaft on the car thats it.
  23. Upgrade parts for my cc-02 build from rc mart, and a wild one, 2 castle creations 3800kv motors and a proline jeep body to replace the ugly one on my kyosho mad wagon from modellbau berlinski. The castle motors where on sale for 43€ so I had to buy them.
  24. I wil give you one tip, do not use the black o rings, replace them with the red tamiya ones, with the black o rings the diffs wil leak a lot and after a few runs there is no oil in the diffs anymore.
