tamiya monkey

I am a big fan of tamiya r/c cars and intend to collect as many as i can, but i have a soft spot for my e-maxx, its pretty box standard but great fun for bashing, i did have ae-savage first, but the traxxas are better and cheaper for spares. how many own one of these monster trucks and what your thoughts on them.

i have a yokoma 13t pro stock 2 and its great for so little money, the venom motors are pants, not sure about nosram. there is some yokoma pro stock 2 motors on ebay right now, search (pro stock motor) and you will find it. or try ebay user s b models

thanks guys for all your advice, will upgrade a few extra bits like oil shocks, it will not get used alot but hoping to have a bit more fun on next onraoad meet, might go for a ta05 next with maybe a mild brushless setup. will post some photo's as soon as i get some taken.

well finally ordered some upgrade bits for my tt-01, got the gpm ali motor mount, tamiya ali prop shaft, tamiya 22/23t pinion set and the tamiya 55/58t spur gear set. so im going to be running with a 23/58 gear ratio, and a 15 turn double motor. hope this will be good.

thanks buddy's, yes the gt escape chargers 2 batteries at once, that why when running 2 of these babies all day at wrexham from my car flattened my battery and car would'nt start lol. so if i was charging 2 batteries at 4amp each what amp psu would i need.

want to get a 240-12v psu so i can use my gt-escape dual battery charger in the house as its only a 12v type, seen a few on the bay by ripmax and so on, what kind of amp rate would i need to go for, seen some ultrapower ones that are 10a, and the ripmax propeak is upto 20a. ive seen some really flash ones for around 70 but i dont race just bash. any advise would very useful.

ive got 2ch 40mhz am acoms radio gear in mine with a teu-101bk tamiya esc and a stock silver can but im putting a tamiya sport tuned in 23 turn, i think a sport tuned with the 18t pinion gear should be good enough and not damage the fragile gearbox, ive also fitted re-re frog outer drive gear on rear with dog legs. also ive had to fit a 3000mah nimh pack as neither my 3300 or 3700 mah packs will fit in the battery compartment without forcing. you could also fit frog or brat oil shocks on rear to make it less bouncy. and dont forget to fit ballraces of course.

used the very same radio on my hi-lift worked a dream.

i have recently sold my e-savage and bought a e-maxx and i think its great, i prefer to collect tamiya's but my e-maxx is so much fun.

i opened up a tamiya hump back case and replaced with modern nimh 3700mah cells, you get the original look with the long lasting run time of nerwer batteries.

i got some from stella models and they where very good value.

I would like nothing more than to own some tamiya based and tamiyaclub clothing, ive been looking at purple penguin clothing, where they do desent selection of t-shirts etc, has anyone bought from them, plus where else can i get some tamiya clothing from in the uk.

love the monster beetle, if your thinking of putting a hotter motor in there, you might want to upgrade the outer driver shaft etc with re-re frog or brat parts, as for the gearbox not really sure.
