i run a 13t motor with a no limit esc and fitted a 23t pinion with the 85t spur gear and slipper clutch, not ran it yet, so is the gearing too low.

hi all i run with a 13 turn yokoma pro stock 2 motor in mine and use the 23t pinion and 85t spur gear, hope this helps.

hi there i run with LRP ai pro reverse esc (10t limit) with a 35t lathe motor, i must say i have fun off road but may go back to the standard kit 540 silver can as the lathe motor is very slow, also i have the lift kit fitted along with some 2.2 hpi chrome wheels and some yokohoma geolander tyres. these trucks are lots of fun.

hi im looking for advice, im fitting a mambamax 5700kv from castle creations in my avante mk2 DF-03 and was woundering what i need to upgrade so i dont kill the gearbox.

i run an lrp ai pro reverse in mine with 10t limit.

i have a selection problem some times grates gears when going into 3rd gear all others ok, may try a better servo, i run a 35 turn lathe motor with a lrp ai pro 10t limit esc, with 2.2 hpi wheels and geolanders and a lift kit. not very fast but with diffs locked it is unstoppable.

noticed you guys mentioning to get alloy gear cover, i bought one but does not fit with slipper clutch, is there a different type that fits with slipper. plus what pinion and spur gear would everyone recommend when useing a 13t motor.

would the 22t pinion mesh with tamiya slipper clutch.

not quiet sure what the centre one way diff does, i saw it and i bought it lol, front wheels only engage with power.

what pinion and spur gear would i need for this motor. and they work with my slipper clutch

the problem with covering the motor is that it will get very hot, i use some thin foam tie rapped round motor for when im on sand etc so it still allows it to vent. i think i have seen a modern tamiya motor that comes with a foam cover, not sure which one.

hi there i too have a touareg, which i use pretty much like yourself, it crawls using a 35t lathe motor and also has a few quicker runs using a sport tuned motor and the 20t pinion gear and i must say ive never had any such problems, ive found this car to robust.

hi there, i have a keen hawk (df-03) one thing make sure the esc you choose is small as the space inside the df-03 is very tight, im no expert when it comes to esc, i have a mtroniks viper rv max in mine which is water proof and no limit as i run a 13t motor.

what setup are you guys and girls using in there df-03, my setup consists off: slipper clutch upgraded 3racing alloy shocks mtroniks viper rv max no limit esc centre one way diff yokomo 13t pro stock 2 motor reedy black label 2 3300mah nimh pack tamiya heat sink bar kit (53924) new bumper set from t bone racing t bone racing stock gearing and pinion. what alteration can be made as im new to changing spur gears etc and using faster motors, is gearing wrong for this motor, if so what would you suggest. ive just ordered some ultra deans connectors for all my batts etc.

hi there i was wanting some advice, although i have had a few tamiya cars before, the only thing i have changed is the pinion gear, now here's where i get stuck. ive just put a 13t yokomo pro stock 2 motor, in with standard gearing apart from i have the slipper clutch fitted. now what pinion/spur gear setup should i use for this motor and will this work with my slipper clutch. any advice on this one would be great.

im interested in advice on gearing in the df-03 chassis as i have just bought a 13t motor for my keen hawk and would like some advice on would be the best gearing set for this car.

got a keen hawk, have fitted acoms 40mhz radio, 10t limit esc, 13t yokomo pro stock 2 motor, standard pinion, alloy oil shocks, heat bars, slipper clutch, centre one way diff. rest of kit is standard with aditional 850 bearing for steering, was woundering about the gearing, have seen some 25,27t pinion gears for the df03 and was thinking more speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed, what would you suggest.

sounds like your esc is indeed duff.

i use polymorph to lock mine up.
