  1. im a pc user.
  2. Hi there still new to this but was woundering what software etc other members use and which format is best for posting movies to this site as we are restricted on file size.
  3. it depends on what car i guess, im no expert but i have just locked the diff on my tl-01 for drifting and used blue tack to pack it out. this is better as you simply remove to put back to normal. hope this helps.
  4. thank you all very much, now going to get the other parts ready for the build.
  5. try this link xxx please no live auction links unless they are your own one xxx
  6. i have a touareg packed away for christmas, the misses insisted ! was woundering if the wheels where just touring car wheels and would some other better looking wheels fit the tyres. also if im locking both diffs up, is there any point having a torque splitter and if so how does this work. what motor can someone recommend as im buying all the bits i need ready for the christmas build. already got the ballraces, new acoms 40mhz radio and an upgraded esc.
  7. thanks for that.
  8. Hi there like yourself im new to drifting, im running a TL-01 with a 14 turn motor which is too fast for the job will be popping a sport tuned in there, i was told locking the rear diff helps which i have done but now waiting for the weekend to tryout, hope this helps.
  9. dont quiet know what u mean, i have a ripmax charger and if its just the lead that is missing make one up.
  10. im running my tl-01 subaru fully ballraced using a mtroniks vision series 14x2 motor with a lrp AI pro reverse digital 10 turn limit esc with a 19t pinion, although i have been drifting (or trying to) was woundering what would be better the setup i have maybe with a bigger pinion for more speed as the motor does'nt get to hot or use a sport tuned motor with a bigger pinion also what differance do the speed tuned gears actually make if any. Also can anyone tell me how i can tell if a 190mm shell will fit my car (wheel arches match up) been looking at some carson ones but not sure if they come with window masks and weather they would fit my tl01. also what tamiya shells fit this chassis.
  11. Hi all was out with my tl01 58273 subaru, running a 14x2 motor with 19t pinion and electrical tape on the tyres so could try drifting was great fun but was woundering, if i locked diffs up would it make it easier and do i need to lock both diffs or just front and do u fit drift tyres on front and rear. just some general advice on drifting would be helpful. i understand that the tl01 might no be the best chassis for drifting but thought i would give it a go. also found car to really quick in a straight line and motor does'nt seem to get to hot and was woundering if you would advise on fitting a bigger pinion for extra speed, what setup's do use with the old tl01.
  12. like some of the hpi stuff along with the new land rover i like this as well, anyway i can find out measurements to see what these might fit. http://www.hpiracing.com/kitvideos/all.html
  13. wonder what tamiya chassis's it will fit on, might be tempted to buy one to see looks great.
  14. sorry guys my car is a tl-01 58273 hope this helps. i thought the ff02 and tl-01 where the same at the front gearbox.
  15. what i used to like about tamiya was the look of the cars, sand scorcher, f150 and holiday buggy which i used to own when i around 15, long time ago i know, but most of the modern cars look alike mainly because alot use the same chassis type, what ever happened to individuality. I think the hi-lift is a welcome step in the right direction to making tamiya what it once was to me. A modern sand scorcher would be great a the originals are really expensive to buy and to keep running.
  16. thanks for that.
  17. what would you guys like tamiya to either re-release or make next. i would like to see holiday buggy with a revised suspension setup.
  18. been looking at some nice bodyshells on the hpi webpage and was thinking of ordering some for my tl01 but did not want to buy incase wheelbase is wrong, can anyone help.
  19. i have recently bought a subaru impreza on ebay where else, i have a manta ray diff set that i had on a ff02 chassis, not being to experianced in these things would it be worth fitting to my car and what differance would it make, im running a 14x2 motor, ballraces and tuned gears.
  20. thanks for that, me thinks i might buy them.
  21. noticed decals for sale on here and on ebay etc, just wondered how good the repro's are, also im one of those people how will have a go at anything, so i tried water slide with moderate results and more recently clear photo sticker plastic which are resonable for my perposes, but to get the results i would like i firstly need a printer that print white, also getting the decal scans of a good enough quility is also a problem, i have bought a couple of dvd's of ebay with decals, manauls etc. any advice of printer choice and decals drop me some info.
  22. just ordered myself a touareg as one of my xmas prezzies, firstly want to know if the parts to lock the diffs are in the kit or is there a upgrade or sim i can buy, not wanting to mad at first, just bought a full ballrace kit for it and just woundered what upgrades my fellow members could suggest.
  23. firstly just bought a subaru impreza tl01 (58273) have bought some hopups and wanted to fit larger wheels to enable it to go true off roading, was thinking baja champ or similar. can anyone shed any light on what is different between my new ebay find and the newer (49352) subaru impreza wrc 2004 tl-01ra, which apears to have baja style wheels and tyres. Also love to see driver and co-driver figures in these rally cars but have no idea where i could purchase a set or two. any advice or help would be greatful.
  24. the standard tamiya esc Teu-101bk is fine if you are just running a standard silver 540 (27turn) or maybe a tamiya sport tuned (23turn), easy to setup and pretty much bullet proof. will work with your radio fine. Hope this helps.
  25. Thanks for that £53 plus postage is alot cheaper than i thought.
