all i know about chargers is they charge batteries, im using a ripmax pro-peak varipulse 2500vp, are these any good as i dont race just bash about as much as i can, at mo using cheapo 3000mah nimh packs, best one i have is a reedy black label 2 3300mah, thing is wanting to increase and start using high amp batteries and woundered if a better charger would be worth while.

hi anyone out there who has one of these esc's i had a mishap awile ago with esc where it came loose and got dragged along the floor, lost a resistor or something, so here goes, we have an electronics department at work and they could repair it but i need to know what is missing, the missing component is at the front right hand side right in the corner under the 220uf cap. it will have a number on the top.
if anyone could let me know what it is that would be great.

hi there firstly does your servo move ok or does it stick, if it moves ok then just check all the wires are still soldered on the back of the speed control, might be a loose wire, if the servo is faulty these can be picked up for a couple of pounds but it might be worth getting a electronic speed control, these are cheap and much better. just make sure the motor is still ok by connecting a battery to it.
hope this helps

thanks guys for that.

is a lathe motor the same size as a 540 or would i have to modify both the hilift and touareg to make it fit, dont know much about this kind of thing, so help from fellow tc members is a great help, i have found a 35t lathe motor on ebay so just need to check before ordering it, just to check bec power is important aswell as current rating.

FUTM0922MC230CR1.07 x 1.31 x 0.501.556-7 Cells20+ turns90A/45A16 ga. FUTM0932MC330CR1.07 x 1.31 x 0.501.596-7 Cells13+ turns200A/100A14 ga. Hi all just found this on futaba's webpageStock # Model Dimensions (in.) Weight (oz.) Capacity Motor Limit Current (fwd/rev) Wire going to be the mc330cr for me i think, any ideas on motors though would be great.

ordered my hi-lift along with some futaba 4ex-fm 4ch radio, ballraces, hitec hs-645mg servo. now i was looking at a mc230cr or mc330cr futaba esc, trying to find out current flow on these esc, i was woundering if any of the esc's i already have would be up to the job, i have a teu-101bk im told this is no good, nosram hawk power reverse 15t (rated current 75amps), Bravo moped v16r 10-36t limit esc (no idea of current rating). or would i be better off buying a new one, waterproof would be good.
Motor, how does the standard 540 motor hold out, has it enough torque or should i purchase another type if so which would you recommend.
Im also wanting to do something with my touareg so may use same combo for that to improve off road driving.
any advice would be helpful

hi all new to 4ch radio, just woundered which radio is the best, ive looked at futaba 4ex-fm 40mhz or the futaba 4vwd 27mhz are these good are is there a better suited set for new ordered hilift and ive heard about a gate for the radio and are these readily available to buy.
-
thanks for that guys got the manuals, looks as though it might take a little longer than my CC01 touareg and the site is cool too, many thanks
-
Ive decided to buy a hilift, and thoughti would download a manual to prepare myself for the upcoming build, no manual here yet has anyone got a photocopy they could email me or upload to site so we could all benefit.

Im getting a share divident from where i work and was wanting some new kits, unfortantly the wife will not let me spend the whole £5000 on cars so managed to get £400 - £500 for my cars boo hoo, i was dreaming of a sand scorcher and some old boy cars but back to reality, i was going to buy a keen hawk just because ive heard they are really good and have plenty of hop ups and i fancied a re-re subaru brat, so those with some new 40meg radio, batteries etc brings me close to £400 ish, now heres the problem ive fancied a hilift since i first saw them but held off as i have a cc-01 touareg and this is great for off roading. need help to make my mind up keen hawk and brat or hilift.
-
Hi there, i run a touareg cc-01 i run it pretty standard with full ballraces, 20t motor and both diffs locked, i think you will need the g parts tree for the cc-01 chassis (xc) but this contains only only one diff locker so you either buy 2 sets or do what i did, use the one supplied in the rear axle and used some polymorph off ebay to make one for the front. result is an almost unstoppable off-roader. As for a manual just download any cc-01 or xc chassied car manual from this site.

hi there im just looking at buying radio gear for my high lift i have just ordered, the reciever is not bec as far as i can see, maybe this due to the fact your running so many servo's or something, i was looking at getting some 4vwd futaba radio but prefered 40mhz kit, was woundering which was best suited to the high lift, the acoms 4ch radio or the futaba 4ex and im i correct about the bec question.
