  1. thanks guys for all the ideas. I am gonna give it a whirl!!
  2. Ok, I Know I have been away from the hobby for a long time, but here goes … some really dumb questions!! on the newer Tamiya R/C kits the decals say stickers not decals? you now longer use water to release and microsol or microset to apply and conform. you just cut and apply?? and using this method how do the stickers like a coat of clear coat overtop of them? do they buckle or wrinkle up, Just asking before I try it!! thanks
  3. Finally finished Monster Beetle teardown, clean and reassemble, removing 30 years of grit!!
  4. Thanks for the Tips, I ordered the bearings. and am looking at the Fysky and the Radiolink.i don't need anything to race, I just run them around the yard and park mostly, although I want to take them to the beach and try the sand dunes. that could be fun!!!
  5. So I am getting ready to build this comical grasshopper, what hop ups and radio are recommended for this guy??
  6. Thanks guys, I will use the plastic cement idea and order the rere front nose as I don't believe the cement will be strong enough to hold the lugs either with the weight of the lights.. for now its back to the basement with Blitzer Beetle. his primer went fine, but the paint seemed to find more dust than a Swiffer wet jet, so I have to sand it all back off!!
  7. Thanks guys, I did order bearings for the rebuild, I should have posted better pictures of the cracks, but mostly in the fenders and center front of the body. And then the front nose piece, the lights broke off where they attach at the bottom. I thought maybe a thick or thin CA glue might strengthen the cracks, but I don’t know if it’s strong enough for the loops on the nose to support the lights.
  8. Hello all, I am a Nubie to your site and also I would say a nubie back into this hobby as I haven't done much since the late 80"s early ninetys. now recently retired I have plenty of time to get back in, but wow things have changed over the years!! I am presently building a blitzer beetle, but my help needed is for my old Monster beetle. it is in need of plastic repair. any idea on how to fix broken plastic and repair cracks. the chassis also needs to be completely torn down, cleaned and rebuilt. and suggestions on upgrades for that would be appreciated. thank you for your help in advance!
