  1. Yesterday evening I went for the slushiest, splotchiest run ever with the Big Boss. It was raining over fresh snow, so it just kept packing up! Quirky, interesting texture, and actually no frost Crossing over rugged badlands... ...and squirrel tracks 😊 Anyway, this was the truck after one battery pack:
  2. Not today but two days ago I ran the Manta Ray and enjoyed the freshy rebuilt rear shocks, they were due for some maintenance, nice and supple now. I had a couple close calls! Went too long on a turn and almost ended up in the water... almost! That's where the car stopped 😅 Soon after, I distractedly ran over some ice that was way too thin even for the car. Fortunately it held, long enuff to snap a photo even, but the risk was quite unnecessary! Got away with it though, so good times!
  3. Look great, man! Maybe you can try to reason with your wife and keep the "anytime baby"... it is almost essential for a Hornet vibe 😄 Cool idea anyway 👌 Awesome!! 😄😁😃☕🍵 As always, I'm a big fan of your work, ideas, execution, I really like everything you do in our little 1:10 world! 👍 the Tamiya cuppa is adorable.
  4. Took a day off to study for a citizenship test. Ended up rebuilding my DF-01's rear shocks. And by now it would be a pity not to run it before it gets dark. Will have to catch up later
  5. Nice results, lots of action this round! Congrats to the winners, @Tamiyastef and @TurnipJF great lap count. @Andreas W it feels good to see a Lancia Delta claiming the top spot!
  6. Amazing work @ThomasI! The go pro mount behind the driver cockpit is an excellent idea for next level videos! And about the digital dashboard, I don't even know how to describe the feeling when I saw it. Top notch stuff, and loving the philosophy of keeping it all discrete behind box art-ish looks. Stunning 👌
  7. I switched back to the Terra Scorcher's original wheels and tires. I haven't run them in well over a year, but I remember liking how they feel on snow very much. And one the plus side, they really are blindingly fluorescent 😁
  8. Good point! Since the little fellas don't actually hibernate, they could indeed come out and help! But nope, they rather dig their nasty tunnels at ground level, which results in a badly ruined lawn once the snow melts! 🤣 I just can't be mad at them. But they should calm down a little and enjoy RC rather than vandalism for once 😄
  9. Thank you @Nicadraus! Believe it or not, I had a couple close calls while attempting to take it 🤣 the ice was thick enough to carry my weight but fully detached from the sides, so it tipped when I stepped on it and I almost slipped in the water while holding the buggy in my hands. Well worth the risk ahah
  10. Oh but there are ice spots underneath already (pretty chilly up here), making the uneven spot a bit too uneven to drive. And much more snow coming anyway. It's like this every year, during the transition season I just wait one out until there's an even layer, then it's worth carving a truck again (even got a new snow blower for that!). These are the only conditions for me in the winter 😉 we get tons of snow and it's also very cold, so this is it until April at least. Great fun with the cars but better when it's fully covered in snow. Even the smallest pebble can be deadly when stuck in ice I have the same problem finding good spots salt-wise, unless of course I showel my own but there's not always time for it! That's why I do a bit less postal racing and more free running in the cold season. Carving a track on snow/ice is great fun for driving though! Just no great lap counts.
  11. Same here. Not much time available, and in any case I'll have to sit this one out as my playground looks like this Soon there should be a consistent layer of ice so that I can have an even-ish surface again. Meanwhile, it's fun to read your race reports. Glad everybody is having fun!
  12. Not today but yesterday. First I took out the Big Boss Then I went home to winterize the Manta Ray. From this to this Rudimentary and hard to look at, but works great. At least it's a bit hidden once the driver is back on! I did some more ordinary maintenance on the Manta, took out the the calipers after a long time and worked on the turnbuckles to decrease the toe-out a little, then fixed the slack on all four lower shock eyelets by adding some leftover o-rings. It worked great for now, but will have to see how long it'll last. After that it was time for a delicate operationglad it went well and with no casualties Lastly, I went out again with the Manta Ray, now all ready for the snow ❄ All in all, a great RC Sunday 👌
  13. I had to get another one of these gorgeous mini Lancias. This one is fairly similar to my 1:10 with only some minor changes in decals, being from a different rally. I may put it to good use later on, to further develop a certain theme going on in my Delta's driver cockpit 🤔
