Ok,. i have an old Futaba Receiver + servos,. will i be able to operate these from an Acoms tranmitter?,.or am i just being stoopid[:I]

Has anyone had any experience of this stuff?,..do you get a nice shiny finish as the shiny cap suggests?,.. or can anyone recommend anything else?,. just wondering if i can re-coat an old ranger rear bumper i have[?].

Just wondering if anyone else like me has missd out on something and felt gutted ever since[:0]? Just before i got hooked on tamiya again,.I went to a car boot sale last year,..i see this scruffy kid walking away from a stall with a blue + white Beatties bag,.top of the bag was all ripped open,. but inside was sat an extremely tidy Sand Scorcher[],.(didnt know at the time until i stumbled across this site),.kid was also carrying a period acoms transmitter,. he must have got it it for next to nothing[] , still lie awake a night now wondering what fate the car met! []

Is there any way of making the tyres for my old Ranger more 'rubbery' again [?],.. they feel all dry (tiny cracks showing when you squeeze em),.. still searching for a better used set though[]

Picked up a well used Boomerang + radio gear from the car boot this morning[] ,..its a little rough (been fitted with a lexan shell that doesnt belong and its got a lovely home made battery cover[8D],. its fitted with a Mabuci motor though,. its casing is gold with a black cap on the end,.just worndering if its anything out the ordinary?,. or just a standard 540? I dont reckon ill keep it,. hopefully sell it to finance parts for my Ranger,.(ive got a Boomerang already,. had it 14 years[])

Had a call last week from one of my work mates,.(newbie seller on ebay),.. he was most distressed to find a Harley Davidson with a £6k buy it now price under his profile!,...just out of interest i asked the seller a question (asked what it did to the gallon []) and i got a reply from a guy who reckoned he was a Doctor,.. had to go to Greece in the last week to look after his sick father who had been in an accident, on his death bed etc etc [],.. the bike was supposedly at TNT depot in Scotland,.and could only take payment by bank transfer,. then he would arrange the bike to be sent to me,.(never did get around to telling me the MPG figures!) ,. Turns out my mate had replied to one of these spoof mails, doh! [:0] ,...put him off ebay for a while i can tell you[]

WAs 28in March,.. first RC car was Academy Roadrunner at 13 (same as grasshopper),..got Boomerang the Xmas after[]

Thanks for the advice Scorchio!,. i will definately be ordering some of the repro decals when i turn my attention to restoring the body,..ill see how the standard SC performs fisrt i think,.(if i remember it looked in pretty good shape when i dismantled the truck,. Cheers JOn

My 1st post [] (apologies if its not in the right place!) i just thought i would pop in and say hello, Ive recently got back into Tamiya after about 12 years, it started with me spotting a Wild One in my local paper which i duly bought, cleaned up, repainted (got the oven cleaner method from these forums[]) and fitted new wheels all round (thanks to a couple of guys from the trade room,.sorry i cant remember your names!,). Then last week i got myself a battered F150 Ranger off the bay! (always liked the look of them!),.. and i am going to have a go at restoring it into a very nice looking (occasional) runner [] I would really appreciate any advice you guys have to offer me!,.. i have sorted out a few parts i am needing already (although i am sure i will find more),.just going to nip to the For Sale/Wanted forum to make a quick post[] I have enjoyed reading through the forums many a time before i registered, glad i can now participate!
