I have those on order  My plan is to attach  my usual rare earth magnets in place of the ones supplied.

i have rare earths on my crawler and can pick it up by the body without it detaching. (Rig is about 10 lbs with 4 magnet points)

MAYBE..... Someday this will also have a BODY! 😲😖  I talked about this on @TurnipJF's Thread about His great Competition idea....

Without going through all the sad Details - our bottom fell out about the time I was getting close the first time on this Project... I never got the Body. 😞  Every time I nearly had the Money, I couldn't find any Stock. Lately I just don't have the money....  NO, I'M NOT ASKING!!! 😖

I actually have a short list of Bodies. These are the ones on my List from Tamiya....IMG_20200915_031258.thumb.jpg.c5c9f17ca1a3ede5b961668e01b1e974.jpg

    1974 Ford Mk1 Escort!! 😁😊

    https://landlmodels.co.uk/products/mk1-escort-body-shell-kit-190mm

I just found this - and these would be worth it for YOU to look into as well.  For a Kid growing up in the States, doing ANYTHING to avoid our compleat POS, 50hp, Front Wheel Drive JUNK heap that was tinny, rattling, squeaking, Oil BURNING CRAP - that was passed off to us as an ESCORT - that Ford laughingly called a "World Class Car"!!

THEN found out over 15 years later, that the REST of the World, got a FUN, fast, Sporty, good Handling - REAR Wheel Drive RALLY Spec Beast, also called the Ford Escort!!! 😲😎

My Friends in England, Europe, Australia and possibly South Africa - have well heard of this Gem.

..... For an Old, Disabled Fart in the U.S., it would be a very unique Car for me to have!!    (Although it WILL take possibly until next year, for me to consider ordering something sizeable from England!!)  But a Guy can Dream, right??

I got one of these.  I am on the east coast and with shipping it was over $80

not cut or painted yet but I believe it is worth every penny.

He marked mine as shipped. After waiting about a month I contacted him and he said it was sent back to him. Thing is he never contacted me to say that he got it back.  Very disappointing.

I got a response to my missing item case today.  He is sticking with the “all packages to US and Australia were returned”. He is offering to send it DHL ground/sea.  I told him as long as I have a tracking number that shows me that it is moving then I will be fine.  It blows my mind that he thinks it is ok to just leave people hanging like that.

Your car turned out really well. How you cut the pop shaft and mashed the end was what I had in mind also.

I have one of the max speed chassis for my anniversary build and when I found out about the 230mm I ordered one up. I started a new black Porsche build. Then COVID hit and the BS with maxspeed started. They stated DHL was no longer shipping small packages. I asked on here about shipping and some confirmed the decreased shipping but then I got two different parts from two different German sellers so after 4 months of waiting I got my money back. Here is where it sits

So apparently I am not the only one that got screwed by maxspeed.  I orders my chassis and towers in June and got the excuse about DHL in July and then early September.  Because the purchase is so old I can’t even message him about it anymore.

curious as to if he marked yours as shipped?  Guess it is time to file a PayPal claim

I don't see any oil dampers/shocks.  Wonder if they make them??

    Thanks for your replys!

Tamiya 50746.  I have 2 sets waiting on the kit build.

Also ordered the YR kit shown above.  Hoping it gets here in the next few days.

4 part video on the Mercedes Cabrio body on this chassis.  The shocks he used are not right though.

I built one & it was an ok build, making the body come alive with a cockpit added the interest for me. I ran it on gravel & it was a hoot. Tarmac not so much. Guess that figures with a rally car.

What did you use for the interior?

Same here. It's those time where it is too good to pass... this will probably sit in my shelf until I can figure out if I really want it... or if my kids convinces me to open and build it... For a flat $159 to my door, it's hard to defer...

Yeah, so, um, I may have also ordered some hop ups at the same time.  Many of them are sold out so I will have to go to the secondary market.

i recently bought a rally beetle along with almost every upgrade I could get including the complete Yeah Racing suspension kit.

At least I didn’t go nuts on the G-Wagon......yet.

I'm trying to be patient and wait until sellers get their stock of the Terra Scorcher. I'm also holding myself from getting the Dynahead but at least it is giving me some time to save more....

This was more of an impulse buy.  I have liked them but didn’t really need them.  My next planned hit will be the TC-01 Formula E that comes out in August.

Did it! I ended up getting the MU per my kid's choice...

No tax for me... whew... need to get bearings for now at least...

I hit the button too.  $31 in tax, thanks CT.

now I will have 4 NIB kits plus 2 1/2 restorations to complete.

  10. I am in the US.  I have ordered from Big Boys with Cool Toys and Zoom Room with good success (shipping can take a little while but that is because of the pandemic)

I just bought my Rally Beetle from Horizon Hobby on eBay (still trying to figure out how they are selling Tamiya kits) and had it in 3 days.

GravesRC in FL has been good.

be careful of small shops as many times their online inventory does not match what the physically have.  I got burned by Visalia Hobby back in the end of February.

you can also buy direct from Tamiya.

  11. I just got my kit.  I ordered all of the upgrades that I want at the same time SI I am just waiting on them to arrive so I can start the build.

as for the 959, a lot of people are building the MF-01X Jimny and putting the 959 body on it.  Gavin from RCKicks did the build on YouTube a month or so ago.

Folks in Canada or US there is a hobby shop in Ontario, CA that has 1 terra scorcher left and is getting several more next week.  I have ordered parts and a subaru impreza from them and they are awesome to deal with.  The nice thing is if you are paying in USD the Terra Scorcher is only $140+ shipping.  Can't beat that.

The shop is called the Zoom Room . https://www.thezoomroom.ca/tam-47442-terra-scorcher-4wd-kit.html

Hit them up on Facebook messenger if you are in the US so they can setup a paypal invoice to send you.  You can't pay through the site as shipping to US is not available with their pull down menus.

Zoom Room is great.  They had a discontinued part for another brand and worked with me to get it paid for and shipped to the US.  I would highly recommend them.

    A few suggestions on wheels:

    - Tamiya 50452 is a pair of original Stadium Blitzer rear wheels -- these are still available at Tower and Tamiya USA.

    - Tamiya 50451 is a pair of original Stadium Blitzer front wheels -- these seem to be discontinued.

    - Tamiya 19335110 is a set with one front and one rear Stadium Blitzer wheel -- you need two sets to get a complete set of four for the vehicle.

    - HPI 2100, 2105, and 2125 is a pair of white/black/chrome 5-spoke front truck wheels.

    - HPI 2135, 2140, and 2160 is a pair of white/black/chrome 5-spoke rear truck wheels.

All of the wheels listed above are 2.2" (56mm) diameter. The Tamiya wheels are different widths depending on whether they are front (43 mm) or rear (50 mm). The HPI wheels are the same width regardless of whether they are front or rear (50 mm). Also, I know from experience that the Blitzer rear wheels are the same offset as the HPI rear wheels.

If you decide to go with HPI wheels, then it's pretty easy to shop for a set of 4 truck tires -- they'll all match. But if you go with the Blitzer wheels, then you'll be looking for a truck tire for the rear and a rear buggy tire for the front to fit the wheels properly.

Generally Pro-Line is a good place to get truck tires; they have a selection and they come with foam inserts:

    - Pro-Line 1060-00 Road Hawg II (street use)

    - Pro-Line 1062-00 Road Rage II (street use)

    - Pro-Line 1070-00 Dirt Hawg II (all terrain)

    - Pro-Line 1072-00 Dirt Works (all terrain)

    - Pro-Line 1080-00 Speed Hawg II (street use)

Pro-Line also has Caliber, Holeshot, and Suburbs truck tires, but they come in relatively soft compounds and probably won't wear as well as the other truck tires. The only reason why I mention these three truck tires is that they have equivalents for buggies, so you can get these tires in 50 mm widths for trucks and ~43 mm widths for buggies (or front Blitzer wheels).

The suggestion to go with Dirt Hawgs is a good one for general street/dirt use. I've also used Dirt Works and have been happy with them as well. If you're going to be playing mostly on pavement, though, consider some Speed Hawgs or Road Rages for better grip and less tire squirm. I've used the Speed Hawgs and they do a nice job on asphalt.

    -Paul

Will the Dirt Hawg fit both front and rear Tamiya Blitzer wheels?  7mm is not exactly a small difference.
