  1. After getting back into RC after a 8 year hiatus, I am confused about the new radio gear. I have 2 of 3 Circuit 1000 chassis fitted with Perfex KA-16H ESC's. These don't work with my old MX3 or Futaba radios. Presumably, I need Perfex radios. The cars built for the family and I to run in backyard for fun, no racing or competitive driving. I see a lot if Mini-z stuff, can y'all reccomend a Perfex radio for 1/10?
  2. From a manufacturing perspective, it's very feasible to produce similar vehicles that share the same chassis. The current chassis line included the Scorpion, Beetle, Tomahawk, and Sidewinder. Given the trend, the Sidewinder is most likely to be the next re-re. That will exhaust the Circuit 1000 series. The next most popular is the Optima, which also had subsequent models based on the same chassis (Gold Optima, Turbo Optima, Javelin, Salute). It fits the business model of the Circuit 100o re-re's. That would be a profitable venture for Kyosho, as was proven the the last 3 re-re's. Hopefully Kyosho is listening to the masses and will re-re a few vehicles from the Optima line of buggies.
  3. These are electronics issues. Based on what info you have provided, and it is an older style radio, it's likely one or more of the following: Receiver antenna is damaged or modified Antenna is routed near battery, motor, or red & black wires There are metal parts on the car that are rattling about Pots in the steering servo are bad Receiver is mounted near battery. motor, or red & black wires Radio antenna is not extended Driving under/over power lines Neighbor is a ham-radio freak
  4. Pots in the servo may be bad. Assure that the antenna is not routed near the battery, speed control, metal-to-metal joints, or heavy gauge wires.
  5. Sharpie for permanent color on the tail lights, lay black pinstripe tape on the details around the windows, and silver paint pen for the grille.
  6. Thanks for the kind words, guys. Up until recently, I've always been about the monochrome paint jobs; plain simple stuff. The racing themes have really grown on me. Seems that I have gone back to childhood and love stickers again. gozone, I don't know how you manage. If that were my pile, I stay up for days until everything was built. That's a fine selection of cars, especially the Egress.

  8. The wife's car is all done! Her instructions were to use pink, black, white and silver, but absolutely no yellow.
  9. Mama said she wanted a car to run with the kiddo's Scorpion, so here's round one of putting her Beetle together. She said she wants the body to be black, pink, silver, and white. Ol' Sup will have to come up with a fly paint job.
  10. One leaf does the job without any issues;
  11. Fantastic shocks they are, though seemingly over-engineered. At the advice of one of the LHS guys, I build shocks with Associated Green Slime in all the seals, and Associated 25wt shock oil. The HG's are incredibly smooth, almost as smooth as the Ti-nitride shocks on past touring cars. I gave in to temptation moments ago and ordered the Beetle 2014 kit, D-Hawk full option package, and Pargu C-Type (star) wheels. I'm so weak.
  12. Raman - The HG shocks fit nicely with the rear shock towers. Are those from Pargu? New/updated design? You did a fine job with the color selection and [spare] decals. It looks very much like an '80's baja racer.

  14. Looks pretty close to me
  15. Parts tree SC244 for the Beetle has the coveted bumper. Do want! http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/BEETLE2014-Body-Mount-Set_p_23652.html http://www.kyoshoeurope.com/web/index.php/support-de-carrosserie-beetle-2014.html
  16. 3 days after I ordered these wheels, they released the stars version. Dammit.
  17. I got a Pargu roof also, however, it came in perfect condition. I believe it is made of stainless steel. You will need a fairly durable abrasive to sand out the scratches, maybe emory cloth or some wet/dry sandpaper. Shoot for 400 grit or higher if you give it a try.
  18. Found some spacers from an old HPI shock tree for the shock towers. The body goes on much easier now.
  19. Shoulda filed a Paypal claim when you had a chance. Jason listed before the part was released. Best you can do is keep e-mailing and hope for a response. I don't regard JR-RC as a reputable store. Banzai has the best price, Kyosho America has the fastest shipping.
  20. Very excited to receive these today!
