2 weeks with no new posts.....what is this, only a handfull of Scorpion enthusiasts in the world? Let's keep it going.

Dampers were a pain. The plastic gasket was difficult to get on, to start with, and bleeding was difficult too. I always use Team Associated Green Slime on damper o-rings for smooth action and a good seal. And bleeding dampers without the silicone bubble cap thingy in the lid always provides a poor performing damper. Best I came up with was to fill with fluid, and compress the damper, while simultaneously threading it together. There are huge bubbles in them, but that's the best Ol' Sup can do with the factory parts. It is, after all, early 80's technology. The Pargustore 10mm aluminum spring clamps are a fantastic upgrade to the slippery plastic stock clamps. As for the rear shafts, loosen the training arm mounts, pull gently outward, then re-tighten. I saw that posted on another forum, and it worked.

Here's she is, almost done. I'm shooting for the general look of my favorite Kyosho, the Chevy 4x4, with the tall narrow tires and decal pattern. Not sure yet how to mount the body.

Just waiting for Kyosho to release the SCW012 axles...

Had almost enough spares left for a 2nd Scorpion, so I ordered a handfull of parts. Let's see where this goes....

Another order arrived today; motor, motor plate, hardened rails, servo saver mount I admit I got the motor 'cause it was red and black. It's probably a crawler motor or something dumb.

Totally pinche'd that one..... I've painted dozens of bodies before, but never with "candy" colors. Apparently those are supposed to be lightly sprayed, then backed with silver. I unloaded a whole big can of SpazStix Candy Golden Rootbeer thinking it would become less transparent with each coat. It just got darker, then crackled in some areas. Hopefully it will be salvageable. Masking the ***** body took hours, and I'd hate for all that time to go to waste. I was really shooting for a metallic brown. Bummed.

Can anyone offer info about the CRP front arm shaft? It is the same width as the factory piece, but has more bend to angle out the trailing arms. Diameter of OEM is 5.00mm, CRP is 5.10mm. Is the re-re part different than the 80's Scorpion to accomplish what the CRP part does?

Will not fit standard shock towers. All 4 HG's are the same length, and are about 5-7mm longer than standard rear shocks. Mounting holes are about 75mm apart. HG shocks are designed to be bled from the bottom. The seals are built as a sort of "cartridge" that comprises the lower shock body. The side of it is slotted to allow an air passage for bleeding.
