  1. Very cool servo. Another crying out for the TC-01 host. Dang I'm getting sorely tempted to pre-order
  2. Hi Svenb, I run everything. Although things like the Avante ‘88 and Vanquish - less so. I suppose it just means 100amps are getting to motors that can draw higher, so no risk of damage to either the Fets in the P100f or the 02H?
  3. Interesting! Cables look a little short considering they reach from the motor, especially for the switch, and it won't set any records. BUT it fits the bill! Thanks!
  4. Thanks ernieks. Just reading up on the P-160f, I was about to put a P100f in my Avante-2001 with a 02H, which I've just realised wouldn't be wise (not sure if it would be unsafe though). The p100f drops to 17T motors, and I think this P-160f goes to 12T (so it's good for the 01R or 02H). Although it came out in the early 90's and the two motors were out late eighties, so I'm not sure if what I've just said is accurate? The Vanquish manual has both the 01R and 02H has optional motors, but the only ESC at the time from Tamiya would have been the P-100f.
  5. August 21st.. there'll be 4-in-1's by then.
  6. Actually, I'm wondering if that front prop joint is the wrong one, just seen this from Tony's: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Egress-Vanquish-Vajra-Avante-Black-2595063-12595063-Front-Propeller-Joint/293549361987?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 It looks longer, which might mean the Avante prop shaft (which I have 2 of) would fit the Vanquish, so maybe i'm actually missing the right prop joint.
  7. I bought the front gearbox case (a-parts) from Tony's tamiya parts, but his Propshaft is for the Avante which has a 15mm shorter wheelbase, so I'm on the lookout for a propshaft myself. Prop joint, this one worked fine : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Avante-58489-Front-Propeller-Joint/402154849134?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  8. Cripes! Just looked up the Sanwa's - £150+ I had a scour for the FTX outbacks and found a good selection of 2-in-1's and even 3-in-1's (incl. Servo), never knew those existed : https://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-colt-3-in-1-esc-receiver-and-steering-servo-25-09-15-onwards/rc-car-products/396999 Thanks guys, the combo units appear quite limited so I might have to keep looking for a mini-60a brushless ESC.
  9. Thanks, they do exist. Decidedly lacking in specs/details, so I guess I'm with you.. not sure I'd want to go that route. The original reason was space. The brushless 60a ESC's are all massive when including the fan. I have a CPR-01 in my '88 Avante, for my Re-re's I'm hoping to go Brushless (60a, 13.5T) but the ESC's look too big. I suppose that will still be the problem even if Receiver is combined.
  10. Anyone know if there is a modern (2.4 Ghz) equivalent of the vintage CPR units? I.e. the combined receiver and ESC referred to as Control Processing Receiver? Just wondering if I can do away with two components in each of my runners. Thx!
  11. Yes. My order was shipped via FedEx to the UK. Customs of £25 applied, with a £12 Fedex payment processing fee, that's on import value declared of £50.
  12. I think it depends on the courier. Historically they used a Chinese courier (with reports of no customs charges ) so I window shopped only but bought in Europe, however with the pandemic I saw they now offer FedEx, so I pulled the trigger. It didn't route via China and flew next day to Charles De Gaulle (Paris), then to Standsted (London). I had two new kits in 3 days. The consequence however for speedy delivery - customs charges.
  13. 46. Those stats are a bit extreme, although I don't know a single female who would even look at RC in any way but bewilderment. My daughter will have a go, but building them in the first place, or fixng them when they don't work... not a chance! Mind you, when I'm painstakingly trying to position a sticker she's all over me to have a go. So maybe I'll have a master builder in my boy and a master finisher in my girl. Sorted!
  14. Hoping to find the Wing bracket (part B2) for the Hotshot. And if anyone has the original front drive shafts. Thx!
  15. Very nice! I had thought Metallic black on the Avante, but the "hotshot Limited edition red" Optima shell looks ace! Must get the thinking cap on. I'm not really feeling box-art, although not sure I want to deviate from Red.
  16. Lovely looking buggies. Have you set them up for running? If so, any ESC/Motor combo advice? Is that metallic red on the Optima? Box art is matt Red, right?
  17. You could get a set of Tire glue bands. Not tried them personally though as I’ve been ok so far. 🤞
  18. So true. But alas due to social distancing and for the safe we’ll being of that forum member I have decided to keep them and build them. It is the just thing to do. 😋😉
  19. Love that 4WD buggy recs ended in Clod Clod Clod. defo 4WD for sure. Buggy wise, if $ aren’t so much an issue then the Avante black special is still available and reasonable value IMO with the upgrades on the Avante. 2WD buggies - I love the fox but couldn’t bring myself to get a re-re ‘NovaFox’ as the rear axle always made the fox special for me if not a bit of a pain. Or maybe a Durga? Depends on whether you want to go proper old? The re-re bigwig is decent and true to the original. lots of choice! There in will lie the problem !
  20. Ok, will do. My workspace is rammed with bits for the Avante 2001 restore I’m doing - awaiting rear stabiliser parts... gonna finish some bodies, sort the 2001 and then crack open the Turbo Optima. 👍
  21. Thought I’d get these past the missus. 🥺Thanks FedEx for not following the delivery instructions! - ie PUT IN GARAGE! 😡 Oh well, guess I’ll be in marriage isolation for a week... with company of course. Now, which one first? 😋
  22. Just got the same on my RCMart order. £25 plus £12. Grr. Still, could’ve been worse. 😋
  23. I tried to convince the wife ... we're saving £1k a month on Childcare, so... NOW is the time for me to get these new kits and teach our boy how to build. It'd be educational. She didn't buy into it. Still on a £300 budget. The government needs to introduce a "prevent dad's going insane during lockdown" fund . I do wonder if there will be a load of freshly built kits for sale after we all come out of hiding.
