  1. Anyone seen this little Nikko speedy RC boat model ? I have one in the loft, goes quite well but is not that speedy...
  2. RC boats for sale, also airfix kits. Loft clear out Please pm me for list Genuine reason for sale, I am not a shop or trader and only window shop on eBay. Thanks for looking.
  3. Plasticard ? White, comes in different thicknesses. I was in Tesco earlier. In the "plastic rubbish" cage on the shop floor, were many black plastic sheets about 1/2 mm thick and looked strong. They are shelf liners from the gondola end shelves. Had i Had our car I would have bagged the lot ! Usefull free waterproof material going to scrap. Just a thought...
  4. Please, where has the non tamiya section gone, with threads about Nikko, Maruei, Schumacher etc...please ?
  5. Years ago I had a marauder with an Irvine engine, but can't remember too much about it other than it went like stink upsetting the electric lot. The electrics had proper suspension and damps whilst the maurader leap about all over the place, but was fast. Would I have another one ? Yes but would upgrade to very poor suspension and fit dampers. Great fun if a bit noisey. I am storing a kyosho something or other for a friend, kyosho pull start engine. Will check that over making ready to play with, racing the tamiya rs cosworth when the weather gets a bit better. From memory it had proper suspension and dampers, a "coil over" system as they are called these days I believe.
  6. Nice idea about the pencils, a nice soft pencil ? Forgotten the grades, 2h is quite hard if I remember right ? Hb is for woodwork ? So a soft pencil ? God it's been years......
  7. I have the Clarke 300 which is quite a good lathe, but you must be super accurate as sharp tools will "dig in" and bend stuff. Very very light cuts needed. It quite versatile, a model makers lathe. I have a larger lathe for more seriouse stuff. Would love a milling machine.
  8. Wheel base, axle centre to axle centre when steering is straight ahead, 22cms. Track rear tyre outer to rear tyre outer is 14.5cms
  9. Parts just arrived and fit a treat ! Thanks guys, gunna have some fun when/if it stops raining ! Will be back asking about new body shell for the escort and wheels/tyres and speed controller for the big bear in a week or so. Will post a picture of the escort "in action" when I take it out. Thanks guys, great forum !
  10. Did you just get them really really tight, it are they corroded on ? Just really tight I assume... The tip about the soldering iron, heat the nut a bit so it expands a bit more than the axle...then using a plastic safe spray, or water, to chill the nut quickly. Then heat nut and see if it "let's go"...thermal shock sometimes works, it does with full size stuff, just be aware of all the delicate plastic stuff... As a last resort, you have a Dremel ? But be aware of heat build up. Good luck.
  11. At long last, a picture of the Chevy 57... Nice looking car, quite fast but needs carefull driving as it rolls over so so easily. I wonder if the real ones did the same ?
  12. Component shop do lots of modeling stuff. Radio active, slec, and a few others... Radio active were taken over I think, we look up for you. Yep Brexit has caused lots of problems. Mecoa in USA are UK unfriendly, pity, they do lots of Cox stuff for td09 I am in need of.
  13. I have a graupner RC motorcycle. Where can I get replacement gears for this model please. It must be an 80's model, advert on July 1980 rcme mag. All help greatly appreciated.
  14. Ok, thanks. Once the escort is up and running, I will pick up this thread again about tyres, wheels and speed controller repair, then a body for the chassis tub. Brilliant forum guys
