  1. Good news!!!!! I took the motor out and then tried the trick of holding one rear wheel and turning the other and the diff turned smoothly. I then messed around with the placement of the motor to get it fitted perfectly with the diff and bingo!!!! I'd obviously not mounted the motor correctly. Nice to finally have it working properly. Battery on charge so my son can go out and break something else!! Thanks for all the tips - I wouldn't have found the issue without the pointers! Now time for that beer....
  2. Very good advice. Take it apart....have a beer and come back stronger (tomorrow) Thanks again
  3. I'll rebuild it later and show you the inner workings .... I think I'm messing something up but not sure what. Appreciate all the feedback -awesome
  4. Appreciate it Lee but I'm actually sausage side (Germany). I was looking at the MIP upgrade, if I see some broken bits I think I'll do this.... Looks like a good upgrade
  5. Time for rebuild number 467. Having said that, I quite like pulling it apart.
  6. Hey Lee, Yes that's right but I've just tried holding one of the rear wheels and rotating the other and it makes an awful noise! I think I'm getting somewhere....probably....
  7. Hi Terry - I've just taken a photo, I'm not sure is the honest answer?
  8. I've tried this.....but worth another go. I think based on my experiment with the back wheels just now, there is an issue with the diff. It's crunchy!!
  9. Wowzers, just tried this! Both wheels spin freely but as soon as I hold one and turn the other (doesn't matter which) it's makes the mother of all crunching noises!!! I'm guessing that means I've put the diff together incorrectly.
  10. Hello all, I've just completed the build of a 2015 monster beetle with my 9 year old son. Everything works perfectly apart from one big issue....the car brakes on its own. As soon as there is no throttle applied the rear wheels lock up and it skids. I've taken the diff apart a couple of times and everything "seems" to be in order and all of the settings on the radio are in the default position. Could it be an issue with the standard motor that comes in the kit? Any advice much appreciated because it's driving me bonkers!!!
