  1. I knew you'd reply Truck Norris. I've been a huge fan of driver figures and I spent an incredible amount of time getting my Wild One's Ray painted correctly and looking good in April 1986. As a modeler, I take a lot of time to make sure that the driver is painted well as it really does set off the body. Today's offerings are weak and look like blobs of polycarbonate at best, if they're included at all.
  2. Happy #NotmyQueen Day!
  3. Bought a B-parts tree for my TT-01 to get the body mounts last week. Except the auction site seller (online hobby shop) forgot to ship it last week...So much for that "Fast N Free" BS. With the "Murrica Freedom! Holiday" happening this week (, I'm sure I'll have to wait to get them on Saturday.
  4. This thing has come up so few times in the last 15 years I've been here at TC, I have to be a part of the sale thread
  5. My LaFerrari is finished, sans the body mounting posts, but I'd thought I'd share anyways. Chassis is a TT-01 with original Tamiya CPR-P100f ESC/Rx with Steering servo, running with a Tamiya Adspec radio. Hop-ups include aluminum heat sink, centerline drive shaft, sway bars, and carbon fiber upper support brace. Wheels are from the Ferrari FXX and primed/painted with Tamiya gloss aluminum. Lighting kit is aftermarket and has a y-harness that connects to the steering servo plug on the CPR unit. Adspec Radio is fully functioning and I replaced the stopwatch battery in the steering wheel. Thanks for looking!
  6. What else you got in that old box of rc cars?
  7. Got the lighting installed in the LaFerrari and currently waiting on the wheels to dry. I cleaned up the wiring after I took this photo.
  8. Worked on the LaFerrari body last night. Holy, what a pain in the rear to cut out and fit. But I got all of the paintwork done; masked and shot black on the roof and rear diffusers. Got all the fiddly bits painted such as the light buckets, projector housings, mirrors, tail light housings and mirror glass built. Lots of decals to apply. LOTS. But I'm super happy with how clean it all looks. Once the black decals are laid down, it'll change the look a ton. Also working on the wheels tonight getting them primed and shooting gloss aluminum. By the way, this is a TT-01 chassis. I'm going to have to switch out the CPR unit with a modern set-up when I get the lights. Crummy late night iPhone photos:
  9. Got the LaFerrari body completely cut out and the mounting holes drilled last night. I cleaned up and cut the mounting posts for the Ferrari FXX last week. They are one notch too short for the LaFerrari body. I have to buy new TT-01 mounting posts this week
  10. Purchased the LaFerrari bodyset, new set of Ferrari wheels and a LED light set.
  11. Finishing up the FXX's rear wing this evening as I had to wait for the TS-49 Bright Red paint to arrive. Not a huge fan of the body as it seems a little toy-like with the solid decals on the windows. I'm looking to swap this out with a LaFerrari body and paint a new set of FXX wheels in aluminum.
  12. I raced MRP 10's and Bolink 10's with the Porsche Group C and Schkee Bodies. Thanks for posting this
  13. Wife gave me a couple of bookshelves from her classroom so I was able to 'Zhuzh' up my display as Edd China would say. My old shelf now holds all my miscellaneous boxes and stuff.
  14. I just recently picked up a lovely M01 in great shape and have started learning all about the chassis. I have the sloppy steering issues and mind-of-its-own tracking, but also have the differential slipping terribly. Other than those two issues, she's a hoot to drive! I too noticed that M01 parts availability is next to nil nowadays. Finding a bodyset is impossible
  15. I love all of this and thank you for sharing. I have a soft spot for GHII's and just picked up my first M01 Rover Mini (all original) this past week.
  16. Welcome Vinny!
  17. Not really feeling it (and I love the comical releases and have an original Frog). The Frog's stance is what made it so iconic. It looked like a Frog. Long, low nose with no dampers. This version completes deviates from that with the front suspension.

  19. Co-worker wants to sell me the following as he knows how much I love Tamiya stuff, knows they're going to a good home, and he's a fellow modeler: - Tyrell six-wheeler (f103) - Mini Cooper M03 - Ferrari FFX - Ferrari 360 Modena All in beautiful shape, some with uncut/unpainted bodies, with transmitters, batteries, hop-ups, bags, chargers, etc. All for $200 USD. I think my wife is going to kill me.
  20. I just picked up my first F103 about a month ago and love it. I'm about to add another one, the Tyrell six-wheeler.
  21. Nitro beginner checklist: - Use lots of meth - Run your cars in the neighborhood, at full throttle up and down the street, at 10pm at night - Learn how to not repair your broken traxxas doucheSlash nitro and ask local hobby shop to do it for you - Sell broken car on craigslist for exactly what you paid for it, more profit if you use only one blurry photo with no description and ask for trades for quads or recreational equipment
  22. Bring a Trailer?
  23. Mark, you're absolutely right. Craigslist and even Ebay used to have a lot of vintage cars, now there's nothing. Everything seemed to dry up overnight. There's so little inventory, anywhere, nowadays. I can't even look at rctech as everyone wants exactly what they paid for it. No deals, no nothing. I just picked up an F103 accidentally. I got the friend discount because he wanted it to go to a good home vs. trying to sell it. I lucked out. This is the crap that absolutely drives me nuts: https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/tag/d/portland-80s-kyosho-c10-rc-truck/6873643343.html ($145 for this POS with rotted tires and no radio gear??? Oh it has a VALUABLE red bag too) https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/tag/d/portland-vintage-rc-car-parts-etc/6874329142.html ($75 for this lot of s***???)
