Hi @Juls1 many thanks for the super detailed review of Tamiya shocks ! I'm very interested in Tamiya BB aeration dampers for a custom Tamiya project based on WT-01 chassis but I'd like to know if you can tell me several additional measurements : - could you please tell me both for BB front & rear the length from upper cap to lower body of the shock, like so : - you also disclosed the front & rear travels for these shocks, but I would be interested to know if I can put rear shaft with the front body shock (and vice-versa) and see what Eye-to-Eye measurement and travel I would get ? Otherwise : when genuinally built like you did, is the top of the shaft hitting (kind of) the top of the cap ? Or is there still room in between, meaning using the rear shaft in the front body would be possible without too much compromising the eye-to-eye distance and / or the travel amount when built like so ? Not sure if I'm clear... Thanks a lot for helping me (and to others if they can !) Regards G-rem

Tamiya buggy dampers (desperatly in need of) info

Thanks for the link, super useful article I've almot found all info I needed. Regards G-rem -
Hi everyone, I'm looking for some insights regarding the various Tamiya 1/10 offroad dampers available. I came to the conclusion there are currently several references available : - #54993 : Alloy Buggy Oil Damper Set (2+2) - usually referenced for TT02B or DF03. - #54028 : Buggy Aeration Oil Damper. - #54504 & #54505 : BUGGY BIG BORE AERATION DAMPER (front) & (rear) : same as #54028 but 2mm wider regarding the inner diameter of the shock bodies. For a specific custom project based on a WT-01, I'm looking for dampers with the following characteristics : - total length ("eye-to-eye") uncompressed : around 95mm - total length ("eye-to-eye") compressed : around 60mm - shock body outer diameter : around 12mm Is anyone there having (one of) the above part number and willing to share the related measures I need ? Also, if you can provide both for front & rear in addition to the above mentionned specs, the related shock shafts lengths and shock bodies lengths (both for front and rear), please : Thanks a lot to everyone who will be able to help me find the little gem I'm desperatly looking for my custom project ! Regards G-rem

Thanks a lot ! From the picture it looked like to be more on the orange side than a normal yellow and I wasn't aware that PS-19 would be of that tint. Will definitely consider it for future project
-
Hi ! Really like the yellow of your body, could you please tell me which PS paint reference you used to get that result ? Thanks !

Amazing build, as always ! Would you mind tell me what is the diameter of the ballstud below, please ? Or the inner diameter of the aluminium shock caps. Thanks ! -
Nevermind, found it after extensive searchs Those are Tamiya #53492 hop up dampers, originally made for the TXT-1. Unfortunately discontinued as of today. Per instructions, it doesn't seem to accomodate balls for upper clamps ; so I'll have to find an alternative solution to keep using them

Hi there ! I'm looking for information on the dampers shown below : these are aluminium dampers with Axial spring, RC4WD alu lower ball cup and Tamiya (?) alu silver retainer. For information, the body is composed of 3 alu parts : the main body for the oil, the upper caps and the lower part which acts as rod guide. No aeration in the upper caps. The only thing I don't know is : is this damper a Tamiya one ? If so, which part # / model ? I actually would like to find plastic replacement parts in order to replace the plastic part in the left upper part of the pictures above, because as of now, the upper caps is fixed once screwed on the shock tower and does not allow any play according to damper travel,... Many thanks for your help ! G-rem

I'm working as an auditor for one of the Big 4 . This allows me to fund my RC enthusiasm as well as getting some free time in the summer months (this compensates the fact that between January to almost May, I have to live for my work)

Super valuable information, many thanks for your help @ImALlama Cheers !

Hi everyone, sorry for bringing up such an old thread back to life but I was wondering some questions regarding the body genuinly coming with this chassis : whith the optional pontoons mounted, how large was the space between both sides of the body ? Pics for illustration of what I am looking for : Many thanks for helping me finding out ! Regards, G-rem

Thanks Jonny for the paint recipe !

Gorgeous ! Esp. the color which is perfect ; would you mind telling us which paints you did use to achieve such a stunning result ? Thanks !
-
Thanks !

Thanks both for your reply ! I was specifically looking at TA01 alu uprightS since the part where the steering rod needs to be fixed is quite angle inward compared to other options available. This being required to achieve what I am looking for

Hi there, I've also got a question related to TA01 Front Upright Knuckle Arms (JazRider, Yeah Racing, GPM) : I would like to know how tall they are, in order to evaluate if I can fit them in the original C-hubs of my Wild Dagger (WR-01) : I understood from the above discussion that I will need different bearings to accommodate the new steering uprights compared to the 1150 currently used in the genuine uprights from my WR-01, right ? Many thanks for your help, G-rem

@Nwc100 this red look stunning on your Yaris, what paint did you use for that result ? Thanks !
-
Thanks for your reply Stam ! I will go with these for a first try : http://www.yeahracing.com/catalog/df03015sp-spring-steel-shaft-tamiya-df03-wild-dagger-twin-detonator-double-blaze-force-p-4739.html If they fail, I'll buy the Kyosho LA257 : https://rc.kyosho.com/en/la257.html Why I do not take the Kyosho first : I would like to see if the fitment is enough with the Yeah Racing, hopefully it fits perfectly Cheers, G-rem

Sorry to resurect such an old thread but I could not find any satisfatory answer to my question : can someone tell me what are goods CVD or DCJ shafts for the WR-01/WT-01 chassis (apart from GPM) ? I would like to get rid of dogbone jumps when steering is fully locked in. Thanks in advance for your help ! Regards G-rem
