  1. I've bought stuff from both the RCJaz website and their ebay store in the past month or so. They are still active, with good prices and pretty quick shipping to Australia.
  2. It looks so easy, doesn't it? I didn't get a run in last weekend due to rain; this weekend looks fine though so I want to try to beat what I have already set so far. I was happy with the run I did with the Neo Scorcher, the Comical Hornet could be better.
  3. Teal, purple-green irridescent and glitter flake.
  4. I set this up in the backyard this afternoon. Deceptively simple. Looks easy, but you have to be super-smooth. I was running on rough grass / concrete, so being super-smooth was a bit of a chellenge. I like it, it's a good track. I'll see if I can improve over the next few weeks.
  5. Wow, I got the most laps on grass! I had another 3 sessions on Sunday with the TT02B, and each time I got the same number of laps - 38. I seem to have reached a plateau of acheivement for that car / surface / skill (or lack thereof) combination.
  6. In Dec 2019 I joined Tamiya club with a TT02B on order. Now I have 12, er, no, 13 cars, inlcuding a Lunchbox. I have a Sand Scorcher tucked away for my wife's birthday. She already has a Comical Frog. Get both the Lunchbox and Monster Beetle, build both and then decide which one you like.
  7. You can't go wrong with the GT3C. Built-in battery, pretty much very function you need, and receivers cost practically nothing.
  8. Great with the correct period Attack radio. I think I had an Attack back in 1983.
  9. I kind of like the Tamiya rabbit-hole I find myself in. TD-4 next!
  10. Great to see you got some time out with the cars as a break from the insurance. I hope things get sorted out for you and you are able to move back in soon.
  11. I get strong 'TRON' vibes from this. When I get the new TD4 I might consider this for a paint job. With extra glitter, because I have decided all my cars must have sparkly glitter.
  12. I love the look of it - it looks like the off road / F1 cars in TrackMania (which I also love) so I'm defintely getting one. Also it lets Tamiya know we love buggies! so give us MORE....
  13. Bryce Canyon! I've always wanted to see it, it looks surreal.
  14. I can't remember if I posted my times yet, I think I did but I'm not certain. I might need to do some more racing on the weekend with the TT02B. The Comical Hornet is sidelined waiting for the parts to replace what I broke.
  15. Looks like I will be adding another car to the collection.
  16. A mate of mine is still running an original 1980's Hornet; they are a very tough car! We still tear around in a park fairly regularly. Of course it's not going to survive massive jumps, so we avoid those.
  17. My wife was driving her Comical Frog yesterday, putting in some practice so she can be competitive in the Postal Racing, when she SMS'd me saying "I've broken the front suspension". On a WR02CB? I feared the worst - had she actually cracked a C-hub? I broke the servo saver when I clipped the shed, how did she manage worse than that? When I got home it turned out to be not so bad - the upper link arm had lost the 3x14mm step screw on the chassis end. We've already ordered some spare screws, but of course the car is out of action for a couple of weeks. I think I now need to check my Comical Hornet as well - I think these step screws are notorious for coming loose? Is there any way to ensure they stay in (regular checks every time we run them now) or are there any solutions that provide a more secure connection? I was thinking that a drop of superglue might help hold the screw in, since threadlock probably won't work on a metal-to-plastic joint.
  18. It looks awesome, just like the 1:1 version. You got the paint spot on.
  19. Gorgeous, the photos look like the 1:1 car! Alfa fan myself, with a 1:1 Mito and a Mito body for an M07 chassis that I'm going to build one of these days.
  20. How do you post Youtube clips? All good, i got it working. Mods, this post can be deleted!
  21. Some slow-mo highlights of the Comical Hornet putting some laps in. Two wheels over the cone is totally legal and still within track boundaries, I won't need a 5-second penalty for that. Bonus wheelie at the end. Shortly after this I ran into the shed pretty hard and did this: That's half of the servo saver spring. Maintenence required next weekend!
  22. Put in some decent laps with the Comical Hornet and the Neo Scorcher around this month's Postal Racing track. The Comical Hornet retired hurt when this happened after clipping the shed. That's half of the servo-saver 'spring'. Does anyone know if the standard Tamiya Hi-Torque Servo Saver is a drop-in replacement for this? I hope I don't have to buy an entire B-parts tree just for this tiny thing.
  23. And another question - how is the camera stabilised? By all rights the result should just be shaky blurriness? What sorcery keeps the camera steady?
  24. I might have been born and bred in Australia, but the Lakes District is my spiritual Happy Place. I want to one day live in a nice little cottage in Keswick an equal distance from the lake and a cosy pub; I shall construct a fun offroad track in the field out the back of the cottage. I'm sure my lotto win next week will enable this.
  25. The one at the botom right is not compatible with my habit of having a beer or two while racing around the back yard. Which way do I go now? Left? Right? Around? You spin me right round baby like a record baby right round round round...
