  1. I use these dryers at work and have had great luck with them. For PLA+ and PETG I typically dry them about every 1-2 weeks, although this depends on how humid your area is.
  2. I'd keep it inside if I were you unless the noise is an issue, the MK3S+ is a quiet printer but I know that it bothers some people more than others. You don't have to leave a computer plugged in for the duration of the print, you load the g-code (instructions for the printer to make the part) on to an SD card or can setup a wi-fi connection to send the file to the printer from a computer.
  3. The Prusa Mk3 is still an excellent printer, and require very little setup to print reliably. I'd ask your friend if they know if it's a mk3s or mk3s+ as they have some nicer quality-of-life upgrades and can print a bit faster. I manage a makerspace at my university that has 12 mk3 printers and they have been exceptionally reliable, and any parts that break are easy to replace and inexpensive. I like printing structural parts in PLA-CF and PETG as none of our printers have an enclosure, and they seem to hold up pretty well.
  4. Chassis sold. Body set lowered to $35
  5. Bump. DB-01 reduced to 145 and M-05 down to 55.
  6. I'm really feeling the DS, can't decide if I want to slam it or do a rally style build. The XM-01 is really interesting as well, but I'm going to wait to see what the price is first. Going to put the Yaris GR body on it if I end up getting one.
  7. Wheels and tires sold. Chassis price reduced to $115 or $140 with the body,
  8. Bump. 240Z body sold, but all the rest are still available.
  9. With less than a week to go until the Nuremberg Toy Fair where Tamiya typically announces most of it's R/C releases for the year I figured I'd start a thread for announcements made and to keep speculation in one place. Anyone want to place some predictions below? Last year will be hard to top with the BB-01 release but I'm hopeful we'll get at least one new platform in addition to the typical new bodies and re-releases. Just taking a shot in the dark, I'm predicting a new body option for both the BT-01 and MB-01, hopefully another Group C Re-Re (Please be the 787B!), a Baja Bug or Short Course truck on the BB-01 platform, and a new TRF touring car.
  10. Cleaning out my garage of vehicles to create room for more, going to put them up here before Ebay as I always like to make sure my cars go to a good home. Holiday Buggy (DT-02): SOLD [Sold] DB-01 Baldre: [sold] JEGS Hooligan Monster Truck: [sold] M-05 RA Rolling chassis minus a silvercan motor, in good used condition. 11. Up for sale is my newly built CC-02 chassis. Kit is completely stock except for a bearing kit, and no electronics are included minus a silvercan motor. I'm also putting up with it a 2021 Ford Bronco Bodyset that is complete with all detail parts, and has not been painted. US $115 + shipping for the chassis by itself, or $140 with the body. I'm also willing to sell the body separately for $40 . PM me for a shipping quote or with any questions you have, happy to ship internationally as well. [Chassis Sold]
  12. I just logged in with my account since I bought a super saver membership earlier this year and I can't see any coupon codes. I looked in the member benefits section of my account and when I clicked on the coupons tab it took me to the same Tower Cash promotion. I'm glad they aren't completly gutting it immediatly, the $10 birthday credit is nice, but it's the end of the line for me if the coupons are gone as they were excellent for Kyosho, Castle, Tekno, and Jconcepts products in addition to Tamiya. Looks like I'll be ordering from overseas from now on for some kits, and just adding lots of extra small stuff to justify the shipping cost
  13. Any chance you made a template for that chassis? I've got a bin full of Traxxas 2wd parts and have been wanting to make a Rustler to mess around with at the race track.
  14. Graphics are all prepainted on the body.
  15. The extreme duty Traxxas shafts are nice, I have a set on my drag car and am going to upgrade my Slash 4X4 next. The Arrma ones should be just as good, I haven't heard of too many breakages. Ran 2 2S packs through it today, and I am highly impressed. It has no right to handle as good as it does with the HCG chassis, and it can still pull a good wheelie. It really does feel like a modernized Lunchbox, minus bouncing around everywhere which is about 80% of what makes the LB so great anyway LOL. Can't wait to take it to the skatepark tommorow and I'll shoot some running footage if I can get my brother or dad to film. Tried some one-handed driving and filming today and it came out horrible, gained some more respect for the RC YouTubers that can actually do it well .
  16. On to the front suspension and final assembly, this section is a little light on pictures since I was pretty tired at this point in the build. Front arms look to be just as well-built as the rear, and the upper arms are very similar in design to those on the DT-02. Shocks are pretty standard plastic units, but interestingly they are filled from the bottom. All 4 of mine felt a little underfilled, and the standard shock oil is very lightweight, around 20 wt if I had to guess. Wheels and tires don't have any foam, but the rubber compound feels good. The wheels are 14MM hex which isn't great, but there are a few 12MM hex conversions out there. And about 1 hour later, the chassis is finished. This is one of the easiest kits I've ever built, I'd say its about on par with a Lunchbox or TT-02. \ With the body on, it looks much better in person. The hidden body posts are easy to access and the body doesn't sit as high above the chassis as a stampede, which is a good thing IMHO. Hopefully will have some mediocre running footage from my phone camera next, planning to take it to a skate park tomorrow for a durability test.
  17. Steering assembly time, included servo is just a basic plastic gear unit, but the servo saver is an odd design that I've never seen before, the steering links are attached to a bracket that mates into the servo saver and is secured by a screw. Thankfully it's a 25T output spline as opposed to the 23T that every other Arrma uses, so upgrading the servo should be easy not having to stay in the Spektrum lineup.
  18. I've never owned either of those before so I can't directly compare the materials, but it's much better than the typical cheese used for Tamiya aluminum gears. I wouldn't be too worried about it, but it's something I do plan to keep an eye on especially once I go brushless.
  19. Moving onwards, time to finish the transmission: Spur and pinion gears are 32 pitch, and the whole slipper assembly is the same as the Arrma 3S lineup, good stuff for sure. The red anodized top gear is a nice piece as well, shame it won't be seen in the finished kit. My biggest concern with the Gorgon is fitting a 540 brushless motor, doesn't look like there is much room for top-mounted wires and sensorless motors with wires out of the back of the can like Speed Passion and the TBLM motors are pretty much impossible to find. The brushless upgrade on Horizon's site is a 540 can, so it might have enough room to fit the motor wires. Not too thrilled about the 2-in-1 ESC/Rx unit, but at least it has a 3-wire servo (the older voltage trucks had a 5-wire).
  20. Rear suspension finished, nothing too exotic here. Hoping Arrma will come out with an adjustable turnbuckle kit down the road, but I don't mind the fixed links on something this basic. Nice attention to detail with a guard for the universal joint mounted on the C-hub, first time I've seen this done outside of 1/8 buggies and truggies.
  21. On to the build, beginning with chassis: The chassis is a monocoque design with a mid-mounted gearbox integrated, material feels very nice and rigid, but I'd highly recommend using an electric screwdriver or pre-tapping the holes in the chassis, it's pretty hard stuff. Idler gear came pre-greased, always great to see. Pre-built differential ,gears feel very Tamiya-like in the best way possible and the the driveshafts are definetly a step above the standard Traxxas 2WD stuff. I'd feel quite confident putting a brushless motor in it, hopefully will have one in sometime next week. Rear arms look very durable and the skidplate/rear arm mounts/bottom transmission half for lack of a better name come off with only 4 screws. I'm glad they it this way as the transmission is much easier to work on versus having to split the chassis on something like a TL-01. The plastics feel excellent all the way around on this kit, once again a step above what Traxxas is still churning out in the 2wd space. A snippet from the manual, definetly not up to par with Tamiya manuals but easy enough to follow. Not sure how someone building it as their first kit would find it, and I think they should have added 1:1 illustrations for the screws. That's all for tonight, will be back tommorow with the rest of the build.
  22. Been wanting a fun inexpensive 2WD runner for a little bit and once I saw that Arrma had a kit version of the Gorgon I had to pick one up and 2 weeks later here we are: Kit is packaged a little haphazardly, not much of a rhyme or reason as to why some parts needed for the early parts of the build were buried deep, but it wasn't too bad to deal with since most of the major components are preassembled anyway. Seems that they just added the assembly manual to the standard quick start guide that comes with the RTR, but the seperate exploded diagram is quite nice.
  23. Picked up a Radiolink RC8X off of the prime day sales earlier this week, excited to try it out racing this weekend.
