I’ve used Jauce over the last 5 or more years, which provides the same type of service as buyee. As mentioned, the fees can add up, and prices of vintage Tamiya kits and parts have really jumped over the last few years, so fewer bargains, but you can still get lucky. I’ve tended to buy not only items I want, but also items I know I can sell on for a margin as a way of reducing the overall cost of my purchases. If you want to find items you just can’t get anywhere else, Japan is still a good place to go using these proxy buying sites, albeit the harder to find vintage Tamiya items I’ve tended to be buying have become much rarer, leading to significant price increases. Three years ago I bought a NIB TA03R-TRF chassis kit for 22000 yen, and now you’d pay double or more when they come up. The service Jauce provides is very good in my view, very reliable, and packaging is excellent. They will however remove any flammable element before sending items, which I believe is simply them following Japanese postal regulations. This means no oil or grease, so these get removed from kits.

Looks ideal - should be 5cm long, and about 4.4mm wide if it’s the correct one. Will pm you 👍 -
Hi Anyone here in the UK got one of these going spare, brand new? It’s for a vintage FF01 resto project so looking for an original part. Thanks 👍

The shock mounts are part of the gearbox assembly - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-TG10-50800-Gear-Case-x-2-Other-Parts-Taken-from-an-unused-new-built-kit/166076236761?pageci=874172db-cea4-496b-b652-34c08354bd94&redirect=mobile Best advice has to be to strip the chassis down completely, clean everything, and referencing against the manual, see what’s broken or missing and go from there. In the Nitro section, you’ll also find somewhere a complete tutorial to help you strip down the engine and refurb it, if the parts are ok. Look for threads by acprc. I also did a thread about refurbing a FS-12LT engine based on the advice I was given, so as your engine will be the same, you could look out for that as well.

No probs, and I forgot to mention that I have some images from the build manual for the Kyosho kit with annotated paint codes on them - see the last two pics on my showroom entry here https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=139438&id=16836

I’ve also got one of these kits and did a bit of research into the equivalent Tamiya colours a few months ago, including trying to identify the nearest to the Rothmans Blue. It turns out that years ago Tamiya made this exact bike as a static model, so I found the manual (kit 1450), and it has TS15 down as the blue. See also the build section of the forum - there’s a recent NSR500 thread using paints from a different manufacturer to achieve the same colours, so worth taking a look.

Been doing a spot of TA02 building today, though think I prefer the look of the FF01 I built the other day (posted yesterday in this thread) 😊. More pics on main site https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=139641&id=16836

I had the same issue, at least when trying to buy the Tamiya one. I got one super cheap from a shop in Poland - took a week or so to arrive and the check out process was a bit weird, but the product arrived no problem - cost about £8.50 including postage. https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/products/Tamiya-Polycarbonate-Body-Cleaner.html

The antenna is I believe original Tamiya part number 50195, and possibly the same part that comes with the rere Hotshot variants which is part no. 15365002. Does it have to be an original? I may have one, but depends on yr location as to whether worth the postage…

I have a set of these - Xtra Speed parts seem very well made to me, based on several parts I have for a few kits (including an incredibly well engineered alloy single sided swing arm and wheel set for my Kyosho HoR motorbike) https://www.rcmart.com/xtra-speed-aluminum-front-steering-knuckles-silver-v2-for-tamiya-boomerang-hotshot-manta-ray-top-force-xs-ta29042sv-00112038?search=Ta01 knuckle

You’re probably aware of these alternatives, but in case not…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sand-Blaster-JR-front-tires-set-for-Tamiya-Rough-Rider-Buggy-Champ/272522980234?pageci=812bc333-f1d2-47bd-ab44-acb4d86f1389&redirect=mobile -
Rebuilt this Thunder Tiger TA02 nitro conversion kit; it had been in pieces for a few years sat in the loft. Very unusual bit of kit! Might be time to sell it on so someone can get the body finished and run it. More pics in my showroom https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=139495&id=16836

I received quite a bundle of parts from Japan yesterday, but this is the one I’m most pleased to have got my hands on - very rare carbon conversion kit for Tamiya F201 cars made by 3Racing. I’ve also listed it on the main site where there are more pics. One of the other parts I received is quite quirky - a FF01 spur gear set with a spring clutch, apparently helps reduce wheel spin from a standing start for a FWD car - we’ll see!

That site has been around for years, and to be honest I’m not sure whether it’s a scam site or legit. If you look at the About us and other general pages, they are blank. This site seems to have parts in stock that are often old and unavailable elsewhere. I did try to contact them on a few occasions a few years ago just to check stock of a few rare items - never heard back, despite several messages, and decided it was iffy and so I walked away. Others may have had better experiences, so interested to hear!
