All - Apologies for not replying sooner - sadly work is getting in the way of all the good things in life - But what we need is some ideas of starting meeting point - so... descent space to at least be able to run the cars (car park / warehouse type space) - best case scenario is somewhere with some kind of shelter- i have buggies / road cars and a bruiser - in theory i can turn up anywhere and at least run something, but i think at first a smooth running surface is better than grass/ pebbly / offroad type stuff? preferably somehwere close to cafe - would say central to everyone interested - but dont think beggars can be choosers here I am not really from the guildford /surrey area- so am open to all suggestions and ideas

to be honest - i dont think it matters at first ? first - find somewhere decent to at least be able to run the cars without hindrance - if meeting outside - somewhere lit, near a cafe? maybe we could get a hall for this weather? maybe get some idea of numbers first? take it from there?

brilliant - thanks -
This is a vintage model so old Tx - Rx set up - and not running a BE circuit either - so not powering the receiver off of the 7.2v batt. so receiver is powered by 4AA batteries - but an interesting point - as i replied to Sosidge - the one thing I didnt think of was to try an different battery case - i will give that a go but to be honest - I still think it will be the controller - many thanks!

Its (was) a vintage futaba setup Attack TV4WD controller FP -R114h receiver Futaba -FP -S128 servos As said earlier - all apart from the controller have been changed out - to a mix of Acoms and other mish mash of receiver and servos - but the problem persists Interesting point about the voltage - this is a vintage model so there is a battery case for four AA batteries (I am not running a BE set up on this either, otherwise it is a modern 7.2v battery thats runs on all the other cars ok) to power the receiver battery case is old - I will source a replacement and try that - as sourcing a four channel 27Mhz controller is difficult and /or EXPENSIVE! Many thanks!

All - Its been a while but I finally got my vintage Bruiser sorted to take her out for a drive - all was well until it seemed to suffer from an electrical fit of some sort - I have a number of cars - both vintage speed controllers and modern ESC and never seen anything like this - all of a sudden each servo started violently twitching with no input through the controller - i suddenly lost control and it raced off erratically but luckily hit a curb and rolled - left it on and put it on the stand and these electrical fits happened every 3 - 5 mins regularly. think its the controller but - i changed out the servos and managed to find a 4 channel receiver to throw in - but it still happened - problem is i don't have any four channel controllers lying around... Has anybody seen anything like this? Also whilst sorting through the above i saw that i have lost 4wd going forward (not in reverse) - wheel hubs seem ok - anybody got any knowledge / hacks / ideas before i start pulling it apart? thanks in advance

hello all just wondering who is about and doing what in the Guildford area(UK - Surrey) I saw some guys had started a thread for a meet in this area but not sure how far that got - Guildford does have an RC racing club but that seems to be mainly Kamtec type of stuff and for serious racers - just looking drive to my cars/buggies / trucks - talk parts resourcing /fabricating cheers

i find both these models (celica and Porsche) to be intensely beautiful i have attached the pics of both of mine (mainly for pride and the chance to show off) - on the left is my toyota celica - this was built using parts sourced through ebay and the like - and the one one the right is the porsche (updated to modern ESC etc - i should have taken more notice when i bought it as the conversion butchered the original chassis - but hey - i may convert it back in time) As you can see the toyota has a lexan modern body (which has been waiting for me to paint it for about 3 years!) and the porsche is pictured with its "running body" - i do have a proper "posh" body -but that is still boxed and unpainted- and there are lexanbody kits on the market - which is probably the way i will go - as buying originals is really a cost I dont want to do now - But here is the thing - these cars are not designated shelf queens, but i do enjoy owning them - the toyota build was so much fun (took years)and satisfying and both are great to run - and there are people out there 3d printing that can replace almost any part now - and yet they dont get run that often.... the love and fascination of them for me (and possibly for others too ) is most likely because they were the cars i lusted over when i was 9 .....
