  1. Where’s it been confirmed? Cheers.
  2. Totally 😂 One of the things I love about the Hotshot is that the shock tower is hidden away. It’s what puts me off things like the Egress and Top Force.
  3. My plan would be to leave a good sized battery in with a suitable extension cable to make connection to a charger more accessible.
  4. I put mine there as well. I used a sports tinted motor rather than the stock one and that had shorter leads. On the next page of the instructions it’s shows mounting the ESC next to the recover and I might move kind there to provide better cooling and so the connections aren’t as tight. They would then also allow the servo to be mounted in the middle to allow better steering.
  5. Not a fan of how you get to the battery… I guess if I got one I’d fit one battery and leave it in. The motor looks like it’ll get hot buried in there too. Nice to see modern screw fixings and some aluminium parts though - I wonder if a lot more will be available via hop ups.
  6. He mentioned he had been sent a list showing all the hops ups and parts that would be available. So someone who watches the channel or knows him that works close to Tamiya, or even within Tamiya ? leaked it I'm guessing. Model Shops might have some info. already and be under NDA for example.
  7. According to Tamiya Legends a slipper clutch is a hop up, as is a Titanium screw set.
  8. Lol! I got a HS2 for a 40th present to myself, that’s turned into a second HS2 with mods for a runner, a lunchbox for the nephew, a 3 speed, now a Monster Beetle, an Avante is on back order and soon to be the Super Avante! Also keep looking at an Egress, Top Force Evo and a Wild Willy! As for space… that’s the question my wife keeps asking all the time!
  9. Take the top off and show us the chassis already!
  10. Gonna have to buy it though because honestly if no one buys it they may never make any more
  11. Can’t say I’m feeling the fenders or the body shell. However it’s about the drive train for me and how it handles. If that’s good can always ditch the fenders and body shell.
  12. Oh and yeah if more than one kid then a Midnight Pumpkin as well!
  13. I bought a Lunchbox for my nephew to use as it’s cheap, parts are a plenty and it’s so far proved to be near indestructible. That said I’ve just got a Monster Beatle so I have another car that I can run with it, on similar ground. I think I’d go with the Monster Beetle if you’re running it or if the kids are old enough not to run it into a wall, otherwise the lunchbox. However like most things the answer is both 😀
  14. There are two sizes I believe. All Tamiya kits that I’ve had supply two, a Futaba and a Sanwa style.
  15. Shame on the 1060 after all the rave reviews it has got But glad you got it sorted.
  16. Just wee’d a little seeing the TD4 teaser 😂
  17. OMG OMG OMG SO exited by this. Please don’t disappoint us Tamiya!
  18. It’s the 2015 ReRe, which I plan on bashing. I picked it up as something to go with the lunchbox which I let my 5 year old nephew use at the park. I didn’t quite realise how bigger it’d be but it sure does look cool! I don’t have the coin for vintage NIBs… though if I did it’d have to be a HS2 if I could find one. The HS2 is my Wild Willy 😀
  19. The black part that you screw the servo into wasn’t to clear where it went but luckily I could slide it into place without undoing anything. I stuck the ESC onto the servo and has to undo all that once as I put the wires in the wrong place and then the motor connections only just fit. Might have to move the ESC to the alternate place at some point. Where did you put yours?
  20. It arrived today after being delayed with customs. Built the car and really enjoyed how different it was to the ones I’ve built before. Going to paint the shell tomorrow.
  21. Yay! But why is it upside down 🤣
  22. Unless I misunderstood, the problem with the 1060 and fix for it is not heat related. The video is saying that the ESC goes into limp mode because it believes the battery is about to run out… so I guess it’s slowing the car down to warn you and so you don’t run it into a wall of the receiver stops responding due to lack of power. The capacitors will charge up and hold the current. When you go full throttle and the power dips, the charged current in the capacitors will top it up so the ESC does not see a dip on supplied current and does not go into limp mode. The capacitors then charge up again when able. So they are smoothly the supply of current.
  23. So last night the motor got to around 50C. I believe the upper limit that you’d want is around 70C? Anyhow the motor seemed ok. Looks like it is the ESC from that video. I don't have much room for a bigger ESC with fan etc so if there is no alternative to the 1060, with allows brushless then it looks like the fix above is what Ill do. Bit annoyed it does this to be honest.
