  1. I am tempted to try brushless but this right here puts me off. Got to say I much prefer the sound of a V8 Mustang than that of a Lamborghini!
  2. I’m guessing it’s either a new Mini 4WD thing or perhaps a laser guiding add on? Either way it’s not a nee 1/10 so I’m out!
  3. Couple of servos (hope they’re powerful enough!), a Hobbywing 1080 and a new receiver ready for tomorrow’s arrival..
  4. I use brushed as it’s what I’ve always used and the fact I’m using them in cars that were not designed for anymore more powerful and I don’t want to run the risk of breaking hard to get parts. I also think they look nicer and are period correct. Now if Tamiya were to release a new 4WD buggy with modern drive drain that could handle it with parts a plenty then I would invest in the best brushless motor I could get and do for sheer speed and power. Of course that’d also mean a new charger, lipos, to use Deans or XT60 etc
  5. Well that’s a disappointment !
  6. Why have you shown me/us this. Now I’ll have to buy and upgrade mine 😂
  7. I’m sorry but we def need a photo of this! Sounds awesome. My wife isn’t isn’t into anything like this and likes the house looking like a house, but luckily I do get a garage with the 1/1 in and a small office which is mostly mine 😀
  8. Did the same thing! And I think so… at least I hear less comments about the small area I’m using at the moment 😂
  9. Fitted the ball diff to the front gearbox and finished off my driver figure. I’m not 100% happy with the eyes but if I try and donor again I’ll make a bigger mess! And I don’t think it’s too bad, especially considering once it’s under the roll cage you’ll probably never see them! Painted the seat belts rather than use decals as I think paint will last longer.
  10. is it to much to hope for a new 4WD buggy?
  11. You can use black o rings under the piston head inside the shock to limit the travel to make them shorter. Depending on your use case you may need weaker springs after though.
  12. Been using cocktail sticks to stir my paint and I did wonder about tiny splinters but figured these would be ok as you eat food off them right?
  13. The only thing I'd say about the S3004 is that is it not digital, so you cannot use high speed telemetry with it. For that reason I've been using the Futaba SU-300 for general use instead.
  14. Tool the rear gearbox out with as little work as possible and fitted the ball diff. My first ball diff build! Built the second diff up ready but not taken the front gearbox out yet. Apologise for lack of photos !
  15. Yeah the rest of the parts you need are included with the Lunchbox kit. They sit unused after the build if you build it stock.
  16. I picked up some of the newer DF03 tyres and was going to give painting the lettering a try. However now that I’ve seen them in the flesh the lettering is very small, not like the super groomers for instance, so O was wondering if I should bother or not. Does anyone have an example of their’s where they have painted the lettering that I could see? Thanks.
  17. I really should have waited for everything to arrive before assembling the car..
  18. From what I’ve read to use an airbrush you also need to then thin the paint down first? It all seems very complicated
  19. One thing about modding my HS2 runner steering was I didn’t think about how the front skid plate would work with them. Had to fit two spacers. Maybe I should try modding a counter sink screw? Think that would make the plastic too weak though. DF02 CVDs finally arrived as well so checked the length and then swapped the dog bones out.
  20. Two DF02 CVDs. Been waiting on these for a while. Love the stand @Juhunio, and love the tools! Wish Tamiya would sell those agin in a set.
  21. I think so. The tread is slanted in the wrong direction.
  22. Swapped the wheels on my HS2 from new white rerelease ones to original off white ones. They aren’t in perfect condition but they are period correct. Also changed the wheel adapters over to correct ones, and the front skid plate to the original.
  23. I’ve used MCI twice so far. Sure it’s not the cheapest to ship them to the UK, but with many being out of print from Tamiya, they are the only option and personally the quality for me is just fine. I’m so glad that he’s available and producing these for the community. As has been said he’s one guy. He’s doing a great job in my opinion.
  24. More tools I now want I'm very lucky to have a large double garage, but since putting shelving and benches down the sides to create a work area and storage for tools the space is vastly running out... why can't someone invent a TARDIS for us all to buy! P.S. we totally need a tool thread.
  25. I sprayed the lunchbox all over with TS-16 and then used X-18 on top. Today also fitted the DF03s to my HS2 runner. Used the front pistons all round with the rear shocks and they fit perfectly. You can also see alu front knuckles. Just waiting in a SuperStock motor and CVDs now and then part wise she’s complete.
