Thanks. I wish Tamiya would do another run of them.
Yeah totally. You even see them using them in the videos they produce just rubbing our faces in it!

I've ordered some of those bits, where did yours come from @Cynan?
I was assuming that anything TD4-related was going to be delayed until at least December!
These were from RCJAZ. I saw they had them in and cheaper than in the UK so decided to get them from there with some other bits.

I’ve resided myself to never being able to get a TRF503 so I’m treating the TD4 as the most current high end Tamiya I can get.
As such I’m going for an MS style paint job with big bore aeration shocks, all the hops ups available (except the gear diffs), ceramic balls, and other blue parts that fit. This is going to be my “bling” but functional race car. Not decided if I’ll leave the shock window clear of paint over it yet though… probably paint over it.
I’ve got a 5.5T XERUN V10 waiting to go in with I think a 15T steel pinion. I’ve got down to 13T up to 23T at hand to change it depending on how she runs.
This is my first foray into brushless so I didn’t want to get a 10 or 13T motor and then wish I’d bought lower so for this based on the manual stating it was good for 4WD modified class and figured I could dial it down if needed ? I’m used to driving a SuperStock TZ brushed and wanted something with more pep.
I also need to source a LiPo or I might try LiFe battery.
As with all my cars I’m also getting a second body shell that I’ll do box art.

Got a few bits from various places today.
Various screws, ceramic balls for the TD4 diffs and then a load of tools that I’ve been meaning to buy for a while instead of pinching stuff from the garage all the time and making do with odds and ends.
And after almost a 12 month wait finally a SU carb refurb kit for the 1:1.

Just to fill the hole? Maybe used in the TD2 or for a future hop up. Can’t see anything in the manual for the TD4 that uses it.

Seen the build photos on the Tamiya Legends video? Glen says he thinks they make the shell look a lot better than the Tamiya photos and I find myself agreeing. It makes me like the box art a lot more.

Sorry, I'm not English mother tongue so I can't fully understand this line.
MaxIt’s an expression. It means different people like different things. Some will find the TD2/4 ugly, some will find it lovely etc.
In terms of the expression… different types of horse are used on different race courses.

The 2mm ring that sits in the oil/air vent hole.

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy a suitable replacement for the 2mm oring that is used on the big bore aeration damper cap?
Thanks.

Hi,
Im looking for someone who is UK based who would be able to paint a body shell for me in the Satoshi Maezumi style?
Thanks.

I went for an Avante, and I have a Top Force Evo as well.
The VQS is too in between for me if that makes sense. And as you have the Egress I’d go for the Avante.

I think the attach in the same way as the lot standard is talking about how to connect the fronts up. As with the big bores the connection is slightly different. But yeah it’s prob the travel in the rears that just need adjusting. Surprised the manual didn’t specify it though.

I bought the TT-02B/DF03 aluminum damper set. Good to see instructions on what bits to use for those. Also, I have the slipper on order. Hopefully that comes at the same time as the kit. The rear gearbox is literally the first step.
The manual seems to indicate you only replace the fronts with this set and not the rears.. I can’t see why you couldn’t do the rears though as well?

The more I look at it the more I like it. I really like the laid down front shocks. I find lots of modern buggies just don't make sense to me, as there are massive shocks in front of where the driver would look out.
The laid down shocks and angular side pods give a sort of F1 vibe, very cool!Yeah this is why I love the Hotshot. Can’t wait for this!

More bits for the TD4.
