Where did you get the big bore springs from? And did you pay billions or a reasonable amount?
I can't find them anywhere for anything near RRP.
I got the rear set from Plaza Japan, front 4Wd set from eBay.
The front 2Wd set from 1001hobbies. They are really scarce and I was lucky to find them. They were £10.99 and shipping was £1.49 as I ordered some other bits too. They seem to be listed at £14.99 now. Go go go!

Any info for those interested in the event that want to register that aren’t on FB?

RCJAZ now has some of the hop ups available. Titanium screw set included which does not seem to be listed at all on most UK sites I’ve checked.
-
If these fit and can be used as racing packs then I’d be up for one.
-
I’ve wondered this too. I’ve seen LiFe batteries advertised as that match Tamiya’s racing packs but they are labelled a receiver batteries. Don’t get it. Surely a battery is a battery is a battery… given the same voltage, amp and discharge rate .

I use a 4PV. It has a digital wheel which can be set to be a 3 position switch. The 3PV cannot do it.

Servos are mounted upside down on other kits so I can’t see it being a problem here!

Im used to running the Super Stock BZ which I believe is similar to a 13.5T. So my thinking was if going brushless then I didn’t want something similar - but faster. And looking at HobbyWings spec. sheet… this seemed to be the way to go.
At least the TD4 will have spares available

Wow. That'll be like a rocket! 😯
This is my first array into brushless and I really didn't want to buy twice. I figured I could always limit the power? Now I just need to decide on what LiPo or LiFe to buy for it.
Are you going to do a build thread? Hope so!

I've gone for a HobbyWing XR10 Pro Elite along with a XeRun 5.5T. Hopefully all will fit and work out ok.

Amazing! Thanks so much for this!

I watched the video on youtube with the 'translate to English' setting on. He was basically saying that depending on which battery you use (more about the weight than the capacity etc), you may find the 4wd front springs too stiff, and to use the 2wd front instead. So, as they were only $7 per pack I thought I'd try them. I like to play around with the dampers on most of my cars.
I was planning on using the 54993 TT-02/DF-03 dampers I'd bought, but they went on my Super Hotshot. So, I was about to order another set for the TD-4, but then when I saw those Big Bores, I thought they looked fab.
Thanks. Watching the video it seems they used red springs in the rear and green in the front. The green seem to be the front 2WD ones from what I can see.
The spring sets seem really hard to find.

Actually, if they did either of those things it would be great.
They definitely look like they hold the spring in place.

Which springs did you order ?
I've ordered (hopefully correct):
54504 Front Aeration Dampers
54505 Rear Aeration Dampers
54506 Front Aeration Damper Springs 2wd
54507 Front Aeration Damper Springs 4wd
54508 Rear Aeration Damper SpringsI don’t understand why you’d need 3 sets of springs. Surely only 2 sets? Or is this because it’s unsure which of the 2/3 are the right ones?

I think I’m going to drill out the body mount hole in the carbon fibre piece on mine. The fastenings should still hold when tightened and then I can use my already cut body shell. Plus saves a bit more weight haha.

I was going to use a HS2 body mine with the hole already cut. Darn. Oh well.
Tou cars looking great. Really need to start taking mine apart and rebuilding with this chassis.

I am also unclear of your comment about actively clamping down on the misuse?
I meant we should stop using the word metric and imperial interchangeably.
Saying you can use a Mod 0.4 with a 64p gear is perfectly fine in my opinion.
What isn’t is saying metric 48dp, as it’s not metric.
Just as we shouldn’t use mb when talking about a file size or broadband speed. MB and Mb denote different things. As do metric and imperial measurements. It just leads to confusion.

If anything, Mod 0.4 should have been called Metric 64p because they are extremely close.
Sorry but no… close is not exact. Whilst you could use it in a pinch it shouldn’t be labeled a metric size unless it is 100% and whilst it may be annoying to some, personally I feel we should actively clamp down on the misuse.

I bought a lunchbox specifically for my neither to use. I also bought a spare shell for the shelf. But parts are plenty. So I let him do what he wants with it. I do cringe from time to time but hey ho. My other cars are for me alone.
