Where are the details of the Black Clod? Is this a reissue of the “Limited Edition” one from a few years ago? -
That is a great video and it was an inspiration for my build..still unfinished though.. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=48744

Kyohso Ultima 60th Anniversary 1987 World Champion
BattleTrak replied to joeling's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I’ve been wondering the same thing..I’m getting impatient though. The #UTW015 JJ Ultima chassis tape/protector is in stock at Kyosho America.. I have a few of those on the way. https://kyoshoamerica.com/ultima-jj-60th-chassis-tape-utw015.html- 68 replies

I’m still working on that! I would restore and shelf queen that Red Fox..it’s nice! A red Sharpie is great for touching up scratches on the red anodized aluminum parts.

Question about adjusting AC clutch
BattleTrak replied to Juggular's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
Diagnosing AC usually starts with checking the pressures to make sure it’s not shutting off because of a low or high pressure situation. I think your problem is electrical though and probably needs a new compressor..worn air gap..old/weak clutch coil that may be going open when it gets hot.. those have a rpm sensor that fails too. If you can catch it when it fails, check the power wire to the clutch for 12+v. -
Thanks! The inside diameter and width and fitting properly on the monster truck wheel is all I was concerned about.
-
Easy question.. Can anyone confirm that the tires are 2.2” and will fit on Blackfoot rims? Thanks!

Behold, the Creature (Monster Beetle)

The Road Warrior look is awesome but I can’t believe they used cardboard instead of styrene or even an old soda bottle.. -
Was there a yellow original Clod Buster?
BattleTrak replied to OlesTA's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I have never heard of a yellow version either.. This truck looks like the body and wheels were painted yellow(notice the paint chips on the left fender where you can see the white plastic) with Bullhead shocks. -
Tamiya Lunch Box Blue Style (58575)

Yes, those are discontinued. They have done limited edition blue, red and gold versions. -
Destroyed screw removal. Vintage SC. Tips?
BattleTrak replied to cantforgetthe80s's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
OP is referring to the two recessed screws in the bumper you can’t see.. I would try heat with the torx bits. Then maybe extractors or left-hand drill bits. If you have to resort to destruction with a Dremel tool cut-off wheel..get the fiberglass reinforced ones. -
Destroyed screw removal. Vintage SC. Tips?
BattleTrak replied to cantforgetthe80s's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Try heating up the the area with the threads with a mini torch or a soldering iron/gun. This will expand the metal to loosen its grip and soften up any threadlocker. -
threadlock question and are Tamiyas British?
BattleTrak replied to Saito2's topic in Build Tips and Techniques
Just keep the loctite far away from the plastics. I have used button head screws that are 1 or 2mm longer than the set screw on problem driveshafts. The bigger hex size allows you torque it down tighter. -
Sounds like you have the basics covered. Maybe the extra weight and bigger tire diameter of the Blackfoot are too much for that motor. The Torque Tuned might be a better choice. You could throw a set of your Lunchbox wheels on it to see if it helps. Now I’m curious what the gearbox ratio difference is between the two..
