  1. NB: Newbie Post In these Coronavirus, stay at home times, I have been digging about in the loft and unearthed my old Kyosho Landmax Subaru Impreza. I impulsively bought it new from Mick Charles Models (now gone) in 1999. It came as part of starter kit with Acoms Techniplus Alpha RC and all basic sundries to build and first run. Remember putting it together, getting it running and sticking 2 tanks of fuel through it to break-in. That's then basically where it ended, with other life stuff and realisation that RC wasn't really for me, car went in the loft to be unused for the next 20 years. Not the best value of a near £500 spend I admit (see attachment). Anyway teenage kids have been asking about it and now with time I wanted to see if it was usable/recoverable. Initial inexpert poking has revealed that although dusty and with knackered NiCd batteries it seems to be OK. Various rubbery bits seem surprisingly pliable and after cleaning up some corroded battery contacts in the RC (stupidly left NiCds in it all that time) the servos at least respond and the glow plug lights up with the starter. As I never actually got into RC I have no experience and have just done preliminary forum browsing. I think I will need some new batteries, some fresh fuel (25% nitro ?) and perhaps some new suspension oil? Hopefully that would be enough to get running. With increased age I'm not quite as impulsive as I used to be, so want to keep spend down, as no guarantee the car won't end up back in the loft soon after, especially as we have no real home space to drive it. So question to those who know, is what would be the recommendations for a belated service of this old Scooby?
