  1. Yeah I think thats the next step either that or robbing the sparky at work for some proper mini spade crimps and connector blocks. Happy with the kit itself but the splice twist and sheath does seem a bit cowboy
  2. Had a dry day today so did a bit of rattle can work as er indoors won't let me spray indoors. The grills and light buckets were done with mini pots and an airbrush which I can get away with. Needs masking tape removing as the ridges are silver, rubbing down and laquering but I'm well happy with the colour. It's Halfords paint and it's Citroen Wicked Red Metallic, slightly darker than box art but I really like it
  3. Showoffery, Parental one upmanship and Chatting to old flames from school. It`s the only reason Facebook exists isnt it?
  4. Panic over its a dodgy battery connection
  5. Got a set of these this morning, built them but only seem to have upwards movement on them. Any ideas?
  6. Ah yes the sand master. You kind of forgot to mention the electric chassis it was based on would flex that much it would acually separate the pinion from the spur at the slightest hiccup in the road. I got one from ebay thinking the same as yourself that it would be an easy entry into nitro. Ended up spending more time trying to brace the chassis than it did running
  7. Think you posted it on the what have you done today thread. I`m sure I saw it above my truck post
  8. cc-o1 tyres? around 30mm wide x 85mm diameter? I put some on HPi rims on a tt-02 here.
  9. Usually but I once used a Fastrax pc paint on a black foot hard body that worked quite well. Did it the usual way I do them, primer paint lacquer and it all held together. Mind it was only light usage so don't know how it would hold up to full on looney bashing
  10. Got the Scania into a rolling chassis so I could check steering and drive train. So far so good. Steering is reasonably straight, gears change and there seems to be no jams. I've even surprised meself getting all four wheels to turn the same way first time of asking!! 😂. Next step is deciding whether to paint the side tanks and wheel arches
  11. Sounds a lot more confusing than it is. PS sprays are relatively transparent compared to acrylic sprays for hardbodies. IF you get one of the "translucent" colours even more so PS37 for example. So you put your layers on as you have explained, mist coat then a couple of layers then back that paint. Look for @Nwc100 `s yaris posts or he`s done a custom colour thread on here that gives you an idea of how to change the shade or enhance a polycarb body by backing with various colours. Sorry if i`m teaching you to suck eggs here but don`t forget a polycarb clear body is painted from the inside so it`s your main colour on first
  12. cheers This kind of thing? Presumably you give it a rough up with wet and dry to key it first similar to ABS etc?
  13. Possibly more one for the truck folks but how do you paint the shiny black plastic the wheels and crossmembers etc? Presumably its the same stuff as components from other kits but i`m not sure if its polycarb or what. Cheers
  14. Why do car and buggy clubs have to be about racing? Boat clubs, aero clubs even model railway clubs seem to have the balance right. Some of us aren`t interested in the latest trilimilipoface battery technology, or the latest variation of a tin can with a few wires that promises speeds to rival NASA`s latest venture, or even a pastic wedge shaped thing flying round a circuit. Thats been my (limited) experience of clubs anyway .Some of us are into RC because we like what boils down to realistic 10th or 14th scale static vehicles that also move
  15. How do. Fire away with the questions, they`re an ok bunch round these parts...well they put with my stoopid questions and even answer them so they can`t be all bad
  16. Just got this year's project. Well part of it anyway. Just waiting on payday to get the servos and bits to start building.
  17. MB in Leeds are suggesting on Facebook the Calibra at £159.99 and the Escort at 119.99. Think they are all being a bit ambitious at the moment however by giving out prices. Anyway opening the order books in Feb so looks like the truck may go on hold, and febs wage is already spent
  18. Neither did we we just thought they were 😂 xr2's and xr3's were snailpace compared to astra gte's
  19. No but us apprentii made plenty of "road versions" after reading fast Ford magazine😂
  20. But its not the cossie, more like a later version RS or XR3. The Cossie isn't a Cossie without an in your face Whaletail on the back
  21. Mm RS Escort, Calibra and tipper truck. Looks like the CC-02range is slowly expanding as well
  22. Cheers. I already have a trailer, just the basic Tamiya semi but am wanting to do the all singing dancing rig so will be trying to fit the trailer leg kit and 5th wheel set. Presumably the trailer lights will have t be led on some kind of cable extensions and y leads as there wont be a specific plug for the trailer light kit? Just ordered the Scania 6x4 today due to being lucky enough to have had a birthday recently, and I can get the cab bits to start building, servo`s bearings etc on pay day but it`ll be a while before i get as far along as ripping the trailer apart to retro fit lights and legs so plenty of time to figure it out
  23. Cheers. One more question if i can. How does it link with the auto 5th wheel from the trailer leg kit?
