Finally managed to get a bit more done on the bowler. I'll update the build thread later, had a stupidly busy week at work so not had much time for anything else
-
Well jealous.

Did it come with HIM?!!

I said the classic I`ll just get a lunchbox to ward off boredom during lockdown, A lunchbox, tt02, Jimny and an on its way MF01X merc cabrio later, I think I`m officially hooked again

Patience dear boy, it's done just trying to do the thread in sequence. 😂 I'm undecided as to graphics, I quite like the look of the "top gear" ones on Kamtec site but I like the clean look as well

Windows mk 2. 2 pieces of 1mm overlapped by about 5mm to give a better look of sliding windows. Also Hpi 6mm offset 6 spokes and cc_01tyres with the decals

its for hard bodies and plasticard so that sounds ok. Polycarb I`ll just use PC rattle tins as you can`t really rub runs out and my airbrushing isnt that good as I`m only just learning how

No they don`t. Its a mark and drill your own job if you want them or no holes if you prefer magnet fixings. Windows are solid as well so they are to cut out, or not if you prefer the lexan version. I know I`ve said on other threads Keiths arent good quality, which is completely unfair as they are very good. Nice solid lines and markings, no flash and very very little in the way of surface blemishes. Decals are good quality and easy to apply as well. What I actually meant was they don`t come with the sort of body adornments tamiya or hot bodies do. Wing mirrors, wipers and the like and they have to be sourced seperately. And he does all the old English stuff as well, Granada`s Mk1 and 2 Escorts etc although if he reads this a Mk2 Fiesta Xr2 would be nice or a Mark 1 Freelander

Has anyone ever thinned auto paint to airbrush? If so what ratio did you have to use? I tried a bit yesterday from a touch up brush kit and thinned to 1:1 but still too thick for a 0.5mm airbrush. Is it possible to go more thinners than paint IE 1 paint 2 thinners or would that not work?

I did what Mad Ax suggested and they were good enough to email me a voucher number. So thought the least I can do is spend a ton 50 with them. Now how do you all get rid of the mrs from the house while you slyly add another one to the collection?

Sorry this isn`t meant to be a teaser thread, it`s what happens when a luddite with a camera meets an upload limit

Now why didnt I think of that

I`ve finally tight turned into a tight Yorkshireman so when you subscribe to the main site how do you claim your 10% discount?

Poor Frank looks terrified

Step 2 you've already seen, it was to spray the outer silver Step 3 reassemble the outer, thin lens, and reflector with a bit of hot glue at the back to hold in place. Holes in the body to accommodate was easy enough with a 19mm speedybit and a slight file round the edges

Black done and lights made. Lights were just a few of these keyring torches from the pound shop stripped down and the outer black ring painted silver and the thin lens and reflector glued back together.
-
Blue done, left to set for a bit then a few hours masking up to put the wheel arch and grill black on and a bit on the inside
-
Should have really done this thread as I went as trying to remember steps is a nightmare
-
Next step was to paint it. Had a can of Ford Adriatic blue or some such that I was going to use on my Lunchbox but didn't so used that as a sort of base coat with a rub down then the Azure blue as top coats

A few weeks back I bought a TT02 chassis from a tamiya club member and couldn't decide what to do with it. Anyway I built it up and stuck a hot body's Toyota on it. Didn't like that so messed about with the set up and put it into high configuration and thought about a rally car but wasn't happy with clearance. I was messing about with some old CC01 tyres I had and tried them on. It gave me a better clearance and I ended up thinking Bowler!! So sat on my hands for a week or two till Kamtec opened then another week till H****s got their fingers out and delivered then had a fun few hours cutting out, sanding and masking ready for priming.
