  1. Closest stuff I found on the internet.
  2. Hi, I recently bought a couple of used F103 (F103RX and LM) with some vintage motors and ESCs. I am used to newer stuff so I need help on a few things. 1. Can you help me identify those motors? I can see this one is an LRP V10 but don't know anything about the specific model. Could it be 13T x 2? The gauge of the wire looks quite thin to me. The pitch is very high, sounds amazing.--- -------- The other one is GM racing but can't identify the model. The closest thing I've found is a GM Racing purple. Any idea about model and turns? The gauge of the wire looks quite thick, opposite to the LRP one. The pitch here different, not too high and milder more silent. both gauges together, left GM right LRP, three poles both. No ROAR numbers. My guess is both are from around 1999-2003 ?¿ Any special value? My idea is to use them, unless I might have a jewel in which case I might sell them, but stickers are in quite bad condition.. 2. The motors where paired with these ESCs LRP indy 200 and GM V12. I ma not plannig to use the ESCs, not sure if work, too much hustle for me to set them up.. Can I use these motors with a modern ESC like a hobbywing 1060 and 2s lipos? I understand I can but if both are lower than 18T I can fry the ESC right? So I should get a better ESC for brushed? I know the Schotky diode can't be used in reverse mode, so I plan to remove it because I am not a runner, but should I keep these capacitors if I decide to use them with newer ESC? Thank you!
  3. I agree here. Too big for miniZ, I would go for M-chassis or as said, 1/12 pan car but if the pavement is not perfect and it's dusty I think M-chassis is the best. Some people underestimate M-chassis as a minor thing but it's super fun and ultra hopupable.
  4. Hi, it seems like there is no stock for Tamiya F103 front foam tyres... Nowhere.. Impossible. Any idea where I can get a pair? Or where I could find something non Tamiya brand but working? I am not interested on racing, it's just for a restoration. What about the F104 ones? Are so different? Maybe thinner? Thanks
  5. Yes, definetely it's a Frankenstein! Any idea about those aparently not cur rubber tires 37mm wide?
  6. Thank you guys for the answers, really helpful. Makes sense.. But I mistook about the body it was an Audi R8C not R8R.
  7. Just one wheel? It feels like it's been done on purpose but maybe!
  8. HI, I recently bought a used F103 at eBay. The seller has no idea about what he was selling, so I can't get any answers from him.. So maybe you guys can help me out.. This is the chassis. The body was a very weird Audi R8R Le Mans body, not released by Tamiya, and presumably by Carson or Carisma. these pieces were also included in a bag three springs for the front suspension, the damper mount, the antenna holder and a weird spur with a much smaller pitch. These are the rear wheels, 37mm wide and 60mm diameter. The rims are the classic 5 spoke ones both rears and fronts. Don't seem to be cut by the owner from the classic 45mm to 37mm, as both keep the semigloss finish at the sides to glue the good year stickers , which in this case are only at the rears and are yellow ?¿ Even more weird is that front left tire is conical !! With all this I am so confused about which chassis this could be originally.. My best guess is that it was an F103RS Most parts are the same, but there are some questions: Which rear wheels are these?? The Group C ones have more diameter and don't fit this rim.. Could it be a Le Mans Toyota GT-ONE or similar? Did these cars have those 37mm wide rears? Why one of the front wheels is conical? Is this a way to achieve some sort of caster? Why the damper mount was changed to this central pillar thing? Is there any advantage with this system? The damper angle is totally different.. more extreme. How come did it include an antenna holder? Maybe this is a proof it was a sport prototype like the GT-ONE? Is this an F103RS, or not? Maybe this is just a frankenstein F103 built with all sorts of parts? Thanks!
  9. Really? How would the procedure be in that case? thanks
  10. Oh! from L&L... Thank you! A pity I am in Spain and shipping plus custom taxes makes it not worth it for me.. I love the difusor too.
  11. WOW!! This is so smart... And this body... Beautiful!! Is it easy to find nowadays??
  12. Oh I see! Sorry I read Finishing instead of Fishing... Thanks! Sounds like a good idea, I would love to get these picture to totally understand it.
  13. I recently found a nice and rare McLaren MP4/4 body which is already painted but is also somehow "bended" ( see picture ) I think it might be because it was not properly stored or maybe its a paint effect. I would like to put it back into its original straight shape but I am not sure how I might do it.. One idea is straighten it up with some tape, as in the picture, and then glue three small skewers along the body, so once the glue is hard, the skewrs keep everything straight. But I am not sure if I will still have space for the frition plate and the damper... Maybe in this area it should be an aluminium strip which gets into the body cavity? What about heating the body and somehow reshape it? Sounds risky.. Any ideas? thanks.
  14. Thank you guys. For the low profile servo option.. do I need any special accessory?
  15. Thank you so much this is a great help! So then I guess the tyres must be different too right? Or does people stretch them to fit in the GR.C wheel? BTW in your picture the GR.C looks bigger in total diameter (rim+tyres) is that a visual effect? A fas as I know F103 wheels are something like 60mm total diameter.. how much is the GR.C?
  16. Hi, I am a bit confused... Is there any difference despite the number of spokes between those two sets of rims ? Any off-set difference or diameter / width? I want to use them on an F103 chassis and I know the 50442 is supposed to be the one, but I am building a custom Mclaren MP4/4 and the real thing had 6 spokes rims looking much closer to the 50399 set, used in Group C cars like de Sauber C11. I understand both take 45mm width sponge/foam tires right? In some pictures the Foams on group C kits look narrower than F1 kits.. I know the fronts a 30mm instead of 32mm ,but what about the back ones? Thanx! 50442 RACING DEVELOPED F-1 SPOKE WHEEL SET 3630F And 50399 RACING DEVELOPED SPOKE WHEEL SET
  17. Hi, is there any rule about how to mount the servo on an F103 chassis? I've seen it vertical with the side tabs trimmed down Laying sideways like in the Tyrrell P34 And sitting on it's base using a low profile servo... Is that something free to be decided? I am not happy with trimming my servo tabs? tnx
  18. I totally agree, also Group 5, like BMW M1, or Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo!
  19. I just got this on eBay, and I am pretty confused, as I knew about the Audi R8R on F103 kit but not this R8C body... The best I could find about it is an old thread on rctalk where a guy says it's a Body from Carisma , but couldn't find any info at all about it. https://www.rctech.net/forum/showpost.php?p=7579026&postcount=1335 https://www.rctech.net/forum/showpost.php?p=7579625&postcount=1336 There is also this guy in the showroom, with the exact same body but it's from a long time ago and doesn't seem active anymore.. https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=77371&id=1212 And I recently found someone saying there is a carisma body, but in this case unpainted.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CaV_bBpL1cH/ Any ideas are welcome! thanks.
  20. Thank you so much guys. The seller is asking 100€. He argues it's a collectors model, carbon fiber chassis plate... but it is not, as far as we figured out here. Considering a typical F1 release from Tamiya is about 150€ new, ( hopefully they re-release something on F103 or F104W in 2023) I don't think it's a great deal... I should probably have to spend more than 150€ to restore it + the hustle of finding parts.
  21. I also found this picture Take a look at the green sticker: A 3STEP FORWARD C REVERSE SPEED CONTROL IS INCLUDED. The chassis is F103RS, so it seems like some kits were sold with a mechanical SC and might include a special tray for it?
  22. I think you are right, I found these pictures from an Audi R8R with mechanical SC + heat sink and it looks the same.. the R8R came with the F103LM chassis though. The weird thing is, that most pictures from R8R models don't mount the tray and use an ESC... I've been checking Tamiya catalogs from the 80s and can't see a single picture of F103 models with the tray.. even in these years the cars are featured with ESC. When or what models did feature those trays?? Not sure yet if this is an F103LM or RS or a plain one though, I am just trying to figure out if this chasis has any particular value.. PS: No, the guy didn't provide pictures from below yet.
  23. Hey, any idea of which chassis is this? It is supposed to be the chassis of a Toyota GT_one TS2020 which came with an F103RS Chassis, but it looks totally different to me, look at the non symmetrical shape of it.. The owner claims it is carbon fiber and it's a special edition of the Toyota Gt-ONE. Thanks
