  1. finally was able to take a pic of the new Manta shocks in daylight. i cant wait to be able to install them but the rear diff casing and motor pinion are one thing blocking me from starting the build.
  2. im looking for some sort of shelving unit or stands to put the RC cars on. currently considering Ikea shelving units. putting 2 RC cars on a desktop where i got other stuff is fine but there isnt much shelving for more RCs to be stored...
  3. i was wearing my face mask that i ordered from Amazon today, its a movie themed design and i had a horrible, funny and crazy idea and it involves the Lunchbox. im considering a mini for the size as it wont take up too much space but with the idea of different stickers to apply and the comparative costs to the 1:12. a mini might cost a bit more than 1:12 with a few hop ups ie bearings, 370 sport tuned motor and that arm to link it to have 4 tire steering (wheelie control) and the needed electronics of the 1:24. LHS has stock mini going for almost the sale price the sale of the lunchbox on RCmart yellow at $100USD/$122 CAD the 1:12 will take more space but gives more options for sticker size so im now looking at 1:12 despite the size. i ordered a Flysky GT5 TX so binding a few RX wont be a big issue/added cost to a separate single bind TX/RX. oh and what is that crazy idea for a lunchbox?? here's a hint EDIT: i choose to go for the 2005 1:12 Lunchbox with ESC. havent yet begun to order other parts for it but i really need to get some multi level storage for the kits now... the RC bug is really nasty but once i got the idea for the lunchbox, it wont get out of my head...
  4. thank you for the reply. i dont doubt the steering of the TD, its a "what if" situation if it would make a difference on a TD.
  5. i got some Manta bling today , the shocks are in and im lovin them. cant wait to see them in daylight.
  6. thank you for the reply, so it should not be in the TD kit. not that im disappointed but it might be a useful thing to do if the handling is lacking a bit.
  7. the mystery to the delivery slip i got 2 days ago has been solved. im currently waiting on a 18 tooth pinion gear and the manta diff set so i can start the build. its just one of many parts ive ordered and waiting delivery of. i got there today and received a big box sent from germany but the sender was Japanese. the whole thing was confusing as it could be. the box was filled with some Japanese news papers but hiding under them was a pic of a german car??? i removed all the news papers and was greeted with this a Sileighty RC body. it looks alot like a Nissan 180SX but it has a Nissan Silvia 13 front clip on it. i think they forgot the SR20DET motor as it wasnt in the box..... hopefully it comes in soon. the usual Sileighty has 180SX body and S13 front clip and a SR20DET motor rather than KA24DE. though other Silvia front clips are chosen by other owners due to lower cost but the name will be a bit different for that conversion. im fairly certain that i will need to use the 2x sticky side tape to mount the wing after painting it as there are no holes to drill in the body or wing.
  8. Does this stabilizing bar come standard with the kit or it a hop up option?
  9. got in touch with the print company regarding custom stickers and also mocked up sticker locations for the Manta. dont mind the measure tape, the print company is used to doing normal sized stickers.
  10. thank you for the replies, i will look into inkscape. i had a feeling it might not be as easy to use as raster programs but thats not surprising. the printing company is able to print a few colors with their printer model. those are the decals they printed for me after i found the vector images. i found a Manta ray silhouette on shutter stock. though if i can figure out the layers to outline a manta then that might save me a few bucks. a bit of color shift wont really matter, i was planning on black outline for the wing and red interior text. preferably to match the PS paint i used but if thats not possible then that will have to do. i called them a while back today, they just overlooked my request as the missed the email... they agreed to see what can be done to make the stickers. i will go DL Inkscape as it should save me some money later on if i want some extra custom stickers made. are the CMYK conversion programs extra costs to purchase? the print company can probably be able to turn RBG to CMYK if i request that. now my mind is going a bit crazy to think of team stickers from Initial D series to put on the Sileighty body shell that will arrive in a few weeks or less.
  11. Sobb'n Stevy better not crash his car otherwise he will be crying, he looks like he's already going 100MPH already.
  12. A DF03 isn't among my collection so the TD, TA02 will be my first installation of suspension pins.
  13. im trying to get some custom stickers made to put on the Manta build but i dont have any good software/program that can make high resolution images. i sent an email to the place i got to print out some vinyl stickers for my car just over a week ago but they havent replied to the email. i dont know if they didnt check the emails or wont take ideas and make the design to have the graphic file for a sticker. im hoping to make some simple sticker designs for the Manta, one rear wing text much like the Tamiya double color font, 1 cockpit sticker and a manta silhouette. is there any program i should look out for to atleast make a set of files i can submit to the place to print out. i can understand they might have lower staff these days but i wonder if they even considered my request... if anyone has sent custom sticker requests to a similar company in the past, that would also be helpful in giving me other options to get some stickers made. they do have a stall in a nearby flea market but given the current global situation, thats a bit of an unknown. i will try calling them tomorrow to see what might be happening.
  14. thank you for the reply. so 1mm play should be enough in the shafts and still keep the pins in? i cant say if its too tight yet as the kit isnt in yet to see the actual fit.
  15. Thank you for the reply, looks like I got 50mm (total length) long 4x shafts with the A5. Will these still be tight? Its around 47mm from between the c clip grooves. B8 shafts are 48.5mmtotal length. so the 52mm shafts are "Tamiya Stainless Steel Shaft w/ Aluminum Support Bridge For GF01 WR02" 2x? Looks like the 22mm shafts are on my to buy list now. is it safe to presume the 1mm spacers are M3 washers?
  16. Those 3 items from RCMart, I ordered the top 2, I got 4 shafts with the A5, are those extra parts or for the othe arms? I'm also wondering if I need the 3x22mm 4pc shaft for the TD.
  17. i hope you have a sticker sheet in stock. its not an impossible paint job but a few exterior stickers will make it easier to paint out smaller areas. i hope it turns out nice, its a very nice pattern on the body. i tried ordering a Flysky FS-GT5 from Amazon.ca but they didnt accept my local address or a few local postal office addresses.... i found the translitter for a better price minus shipping from RCmart and i also ordered a spare receiver. im crossing my fingers they dont have restrictions to ship the transmitter to me...
  18. Currently the TTX300 tactic and it runs no antenna from chassis but it's a very basic model. I like the features of GT5 but the aerial is the only downside. If i can safely tuck it under the shell then it would work well. I know GT5 can bind with many RX though I'm not sure if mine isn't among them.
  19. Thank you for the reply. I'm strongly considering this for the Manta as the extra controller features are something I'm lacking with current model. How long does the tube get to be? I can probably use a tie wrap to keep it near the rear Manta body post between the wing supports. I've had enough lessons rolling the 2wd slash to try and keep it from sticking out. I haven't tried tucking the antenna on the slash but it's a bit annoying to say the least with the current range it has before losing signal.
  20. Do you just let the body keep the aerial down or do you secure it a bit to keep it away from the chassis moving parts?
  21. Happy to help, the yeah racing set is for the Manta. It fits the gear box parts great and also the aluminum arm on steering servo I reserved for the build. The holes for the gear box cover is pretty much the same as the other ones on the kit.
  22. that sucks the screws were a bit too wide for Tamiya... i did get the Yeah Racing screw set so i should be fine with most Tamiya kits
  23. are the Flysky radios the one with antenna? i currently am using Tactic ttx300 (3 channel). they are budget basic radios that dont have antenna wires than stick out of the RC car/chassis. i like them but they cant do any advanced features and can only bind to 1 receiver as afar as i know. im not much of a fan of the ones that need antenna, my Traxxas antenna tube got a bit bent, no serious damage but i need to carefully squeeze the tube to clear/remove the upright tube eventually. the FlySky GT5 was on my radar for the TD and im considering it for the Manta. i hear it can bind with many receivers so maybe i can dump the RTR slash antenna and get this radio. what sort of range does it have with the antenna vs wireless setup on the chassis (if it can run without antenna)
  24. im not sure what the shipping cost will be for you but i got them from Amazon. honestly its a bit overkill but with those washers being so tiny it doesnt hurt. i thnk that are boxes that might have a lower total washer count somewhere in the 360x range but its nto that hard to find that listing on amazon though the pack i got has 100x of the smaller sizes https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B073PVFSC1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 thanks @Willy iine it might've cost more than buying several packets from RC mart but cant beat the shipping time with amazon lately. plus i think i got a few spares stored in that box...
  25. bought some useful stuff for work and also some brake cleaner for my RC stuff, no point in buying a small can for +$10 when $7 gets you a bigger can of the same stuff essentially. i also got this feisty girl, calling her Minerva (RE Zero series) because she's crazy and unpredictable. atleast she was when i was driving back, i look at the bag holding her water and see she's not in the water, she jumped, got stuck on the wall of the bag above the water level.... i tip the water to her level and she keeps jumping, getting stuck 2 more times... hopefully she calms down now that she's in the proper tank. she was jumping alot when i was transporting her back home.
