  1. Hi Jellon, if you have multi tasking down to a fine art you could do a little 'how to' with photos for those of us really new to painting lexan...PLEASE 😁
  2. I've had a brief look around on here but maybe I just need an idiot guide to this subject, so that probably means there are others out there thinking the same as I'm not THAT thick! Can someone explain or point me in the direction of information about the process of paint layering. I have my first body to paint and I have chosen PS28 - just 'because' and it's a 911shell! Up until reading 'paint things' on here i would have misted a thin base coat and then built up further coats. But no, I should be adding coats of other colour/s to make the top colour appear to pop more or make it more subdued...😲. I'm all up for experimenting but some starting point to this concept would be really helpful. I get the principle if you were mixing a paint to spray a 1:1 car and the light shines on it and hits the colours in the paint but how does painting white, silver, black etc on the back of the PS28 make a difference when the light lands on the outside surface and hits green? πŸ€” I think you could have a whole subsection on the subject of painting! Thanks for any direction. πŸ˜ƒ
  3. Time Tunnel have just put some of the new releases on for pre order. I might have just pre ordered the Escort Cosworth..😁 Who else has failed to resist and what did you go for?
  4. Just seen this private item on Ebay, I don't know if they have it or just have it pre ordered...πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-MK2-Escort-Kit-58687-With-Bearimg-Kit-/114647590364?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  5. So when's the stalk bringing the bundle of joy? 😁
  6. When I was trying to buy my first Tamiya kit before Christmas from a popular retailer I asked why stock was really low and I got the following answer - the Philippines had a full military Covid lock down early on and Tamiya decided that they should move production (equipment and materials) to Japan, all of which stopped production for weeks. Once everything was relocated and set up... the Philippines lifted their lockdown! Seems plausible and just like my luck! πŸ˜‚
  7. What crazy world have I got myself involved with?! 😲 What would YOU pay for this, obviously something is only worth a much as someone is willing to pay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Holy-Grail-1976-Black-Porsche-934-NIB-/254837763901?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  8. Thanks! I'm going to need some help from time to time... especially at the start of this journey! πŸ€ͺ
  9. Thanks very much, I've ordered a couple of those servos.
  10. Thanks very much all, I'm sure i tried that combination of parts at some point before?! I think I have it working however I havent really been able to properly test it as I have a new problem now πŸ™ˆ. I've broken the plastic bracket on the servo body... you screw through the chassis base into the plastic upright and the servo body screws into that (X2). So, I used a second servo and it broke in the same place on that one too! The fit of the screw that goes up into the upright is very tight but both times I was trying to support the upright to try to avoid it twisting and putting extra stress on this mounting point. Does anyone make a servo with the mounting points made of metal to avoid this potential problem as this could get frustrating and expensive! Thanks again.
  11. The blue ball connector is likely on the wrong side as the adjustable steering arm cup is facing the other way but it can't be on the other side as that'll be even further away so no chance of connecting. 🀯
  12. Hello, my first post on the forum and I need your help please! So I decided to buy my first ever rc car (at, cough, 48)and did lots of reading up (including on this site of course) and went for the TT-02R chassis with a torque motor and a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup VIP 2007 body. I eventually plucked up courage to start the chassis build over the Christmas period and it became a bit addictive😁. Learning to decifer the Tamiya manual, learning that if you have hop up parts included you will have other parts left over, the bearings are in fact 3 different sizes and not 2...I questioned why my driveshaft was so 'sloppy' until I found the bearings I had left over didn't fit into the recessed wheel hub mounts. I made mistakes, learnt from them eventually and have got the chassis built...yay! I purchased a Radient RS-BS201-PG servo and have tried to mate it up to the servo arm to the steering assembly and I'm really stuck. The manual shows the Tamiya D10 servo saver but then states that I don't use that for other brands. I've a similar looking item (see photo) which came with the servo and tried using that but just can't seat the servo where it's supposed to be and for the blue ball connector on the adjustable steering arm to reach the one on the servo saver - it appears to be to far forward, towards the steering/ suspension. I apologise for any incorrectly used part names and if someone was to tell me I'm a dullard and just need to connect x to y then I'd be very happy as I think I'm going to go mad if I don't get this worked out soon!!πŸ˜† I can only post the one photo (file sizes) but tell me if you need more... but HELP!πŸ₯΄ Thanks, Scott
