  1. Getting my comical frog body ready to paint. Nice weather is coming along for painting.
  2. Depends on your definition of lowering the front. You could tweek the front torsion springs to reduce the ride height.
  3. I was hoping that I could use the Tammy acrylic on the lexan to do the outlines on the window frames on my comical frog. I figured the black outlines would look nice with the white body with pink decals..
  4. I was going to pick up a xr311 a few moths back but from what I was hearing it was made a bit cheesy.
  5. Did they ever re re the Lambo Cheetah? I wanted one of those so bad as a kid. I did buy a rough rider in 1980 when I was in high school...and currently restoring it.
  6. I poked around on youtube and found videos of those WLtoys and although they are priced right and run good, they do fall apart and break easily.
  7. I picked up a comical frog back in early January and it was an interesting build and a fun buggy. I am actually working on cutting up the body for painting as we speak. For pricing it was $150 (us) I don't know what that comes out to in Quid for you guys on the other side of the puddle. I actually only paid $90 with free shipping from amazon because they gave me $60 off for opening a CC account. So for me that made it even easier to buy it. I did throw in a ball bearing kit as I do with all my builds. I did check Quid to bucks: 109 Quid, 65 after discount.
  8. Personally, I would clean up the original, install new ball bearings and tires, buy a battery and take it out here and there. Also, buy a new one for the kids to beat on.
  9. Don't waste your time and money on that crap. Around 5 or so years ago, gun guys were raving about that crap on the boards then like a year or two later they were having issues with it gumming up the parts. Especially when it sits around something happens to that lube.
  10. And the 2 yo rolled their eyes and called you a dik for the first time. :0
  11. Starting to build my Tamiya Hornet buggy.
  12. No really. I though they were paired together.
  13. Awesome build. I love the color too.
  14. It stated "table rate", cheapest rate possible, 2-3 weeks. $6 bucks and it went through Fed Ex.
  15. Don't you use that aluminum chassis plate with the original fiberglass unit?
  16. It was $299, plus tax and $6 bucks fed ex shipping and I received it in 3 days, versus 2-3 weeks with "free" shipping. Almost 41 years ago I bought my original Rough Rider from Tower Hobbys. None of the LHS had one in stock.
  17. I just received mine today that I bought from Tower that was on sale earlier this week. Just under $300, $6 bucks shipping..
  18. Yep, keeping my boxes. Even have the box from my original Rough Rider.
  19. I hear you, but at that price I had to grab one. The SRBs are quite expensive even the re-re units. I thought about getting a fighting buggy, but decided to grab the sand scorcher to go with my two original rough riders. I am restoring my original 1980 RR plus a MKI RR. I already have a hornet and lunchbox to build and the SS will be on the bottom of the pile. The only other Tammy I really want is the new Benz Unimog that is supposed to be out in May.
  20. I grabbed a Sand Scorcher with 4 minutes left, $323 with tax/ship. It will keep my two original Rough Riders company, plus other Buggys.
  21. Thanks for the easy description of the differences.
  22. I just checked my original box, bought around spring 1980, and it shows the bumper that was included in the kit (black) and the rear swing arm is the same as the kit. I am currently restoring it, plus I picked up a MKI rolling chassis and will restore that one when finished with the first.
  23. I figured that maybe it was mineral oil for shocks.
  24. Well like the title says, where can I find those little M3 screws for my RR. I prefer the original slotted panhead. I looked around but can up empty handed. I have a rolling chassis to restore and it's missing one screw on each side. Thanks!
