  1. Yeah the prices being asked for worlds and Goldpan classics are INSANE
  2. Any rumors, statements , or clear hard facts as a reason to not make another Gold pan based car are now busted with the clear release.
  3. I race a 511 so the options have similar effects. Id just get the WO front uprights and the bigbores. If you are racing get the different strength lower arms to aid in your suspension tuning.
  4. Learned my lesson what ever G1 version they release after the clear shelf only I'm getting at least 2!
  5. I remember that fondly! The Astute kept me a frequent visitor.
  6. Does anyone know why MRC split from Tamiya? Seems like it was a mutually beneficial relationship.
  7. Id bet that's accurate for USA, but that's just isolated to us Americans. Hasn't spares for Tamiya in general become very difficult And near 100 percent online sourced!
  8. Three items drove Tamiya's success in the heyday of RC of the 80s and 90s. Compared to the Nikkos and Tycos of that erra Tamiyas were faster, stronger, they were in ALL the hobby stores and you could buy spares for them. For whatever reason(s) hobby stores stopped carring Tamiya Spares, Traxxas came out in a big way, and the only people who buy Tamiya's in large numbers now are us. RC is now comprised of (2) groups; serious racers and bashers. Tamiya doesnt make serious Offroad racers anymore and Traxxas owns the basher market. Nastalgia and appreciating the attention to detail keeps me in the game, once my son is older ill like sell all but my childhood cars as Ill have no one to enjoy them with.
  9. Wow that's stinking awesome and if I hadn't just purchased a Jugg2 I'd be all in.
  10. Good to know! Thank you.
  11. Re-assembling the front half of the truck and I just noticed this, LEDs have been fitted! How do I wire them to the receiver to turn them on?
  12. Boy I hope they bring out something else as well! Another Gold Pan!
  13. I hope so!!! I love the RZ!!! In my opinion they are the Technigold/Dynatech of today. I don't have one as of yet. I've got a back up twin motor Hobbywing in the wings in case I let the smoke out.
  14. Alright, alright, alright! Monday is update day!!!! Time to upgrade the trans! Extra HP is always welcomed! Big tires, lots of metal, hard body, these silver cans gotz to go Tamiya did a fantastic job engineering the beast, these are additional heat sinks to help cool the motors, pretty cool Spur gear looks fantastic (I was worried as the Jugg was using the standard Tamiya dissolving pinions) , other than that bronze bushing....thatll change RZs in Nice hardened Pinions Looking good Mr Carteer. Sorry forgto to take pictures of the bearing inside the trans....
  15. I got the rest of the rear axle put back together and installed. Clod hubs with ball bearing, these will always be easy to find! RC4WD shocks, I used the factory Tamiya rod ends for the shocks as it alows for using the Tamiya Hardware thats on the truck. These feel fantastic. These look amazing on the truck and provides actual damping, I used Tamiya hard shock oil in them. Next up the transmision.
  16. That looks great! I wish someone made a hard shell 70s ford body!
  17. The Jugg is good to look at and really emulates Tamiya's original RC moto of Model Suitable to run, debating on just leaving that shell as is. The Scars tell a story. Leaning toward getting a highlift body (yes yes I know wheel wells) and paint it a DEEP DARK blue with Jugg 1 decals.
  18. Man that Grand National, its on my want list. The "Hellcat" of the 80s.
  19. Love that lotus! Im on the fence with building a 289 Cobra Repliaca, or making my life easy and just buying a Lotus.
  20. Both are nice! DO not sell the Piper! Can not beat flying!
  21. This truck is awesome! It's a perfect combination of what Tamiya does best. Beautifully detailed body, finally crafted metal components, and quality plastics. It's like they combined the qualities of the Bruiser and the Clod and got this. I love this Truck already. A Jugg 3 is needed! Lets goooooooooooooooooo, Body removed, this is the last we will see it with 8 pogo sticks! Im not going to tear it down to every bolt., it was built very well. Axles, shocks, trans, etc. The truck looks to be assembled well, loctite on all the metal to metal, and the screws arent boogered up, no need for a 100% tare down. Im going to start with the rear axles. Inspect and if good save the new axle housings as spares and install ball bearing and RC4wd oil shocks. Rear end split apart, axle housings look great. No cracks, blemishes, etc. I'll be keeping these. New ones will stay in the package And all the parts left over....yikes. Bearings installed: I did not know these beasts had gear reduction type axles, pretty stinking awesome!!! ....and bearings in, they look so pretty! and ready to go back into the truck! 2000, thats what you want to see on your molds of your Jugg1 / Jugg2 if you want it to run it. If you are trying to score an all original Jugg, and plan on not running it than you want the molds that dont have the 2000 on it. Whats great is that Tamiya used these through the TXT2 so spares are kind of easy to get. Not Clod easy but, easy enough.
