Back in the day there wasnt publication that compared the Egress, TF, or the EVO to their contempories. Each model was reviewed favorably by RC CarAction , with hits against the Egress for some UnderSteer and The TF due to its plastic shocks and bronze bushings. I think they all handle great, club level itll be up to the driver.

My Mid 90's Toys 'R' Us Job is Still Paying
GTodd replied to sfinsf's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Wow a fairly rare and great condition Super G!! It's not even just a Grass Hopper 2. I love in good old America and I remember seeing Tamiyas in Toys R Us and Sears. Maybe that's how I got hooked on them and not AE.- 16 replies

Fresh from Serbia and shapeways we got new front end components (D5 and E4). I didn't want the blue but at the time.its all he had ready to order. Looks good. The stock Tamiya ones shockingly arent broken. Surprising as there are signs that this was ran and taken apart a few times (scrapes on the E4, wrong screws used in parts, etc. The brass color isn't just for looks, that's weight that you can use to balance the car. I left them all in, maybe it'll turn in better now and remove some of that Audi esque understeer! Two different components from two different suppliers made out of different material. They fit VERY WELL!!! A very rare site a used and in one piece E4 and D5. Just like the trans mount from the same vendor the D5 is threaded. I removed the press nut from the shock tower and installed in reverse, ie screw with washer through the shock tower. Front end coming together nicely.

Im in the middle of my Dyna Storm build in the build forum, while taking apart the front end I noticed something that my rere Dyna Didnt have, nor have I ever scene this in any other Dyna storm. Is this from the 1992 release? A prototype part from the prototype Dyna??? Here it is:

Woot! 1872 has shipped. It'll be in my hands tomorrow. I need to order 3 hobby wing just stock combos (Dyna Storm, Team Car, And this) as well as a used gold pan and front mount. The stock one will be saved in case I ever turn it into just a shelfer (not likely).

There's other vendors that sell them too, that one is out of stock alot. I need to find the direct site again

Wow! 3D printing seems to be quite the rabbit hole! Thanks Fellas!

My wife and I gave our son a 3D printer last night, he's become quite the operator the past year due to one of his classes in school. Anyway I was thinking, gee I could have some spares available for track days etc. What is a good site with free files for finding RC Parts? What's a good filament to use that might be able to withstand the torture of a RC Car? It's a creality printer that I'm able to adjust based on filament being used. Ie the Heat etc.

Yeah, thats a dangerous site!!!! Their shocks, everyhting are spot on.
-
Woops, its Fan RC. I can not for the life of me find their main site right now. Their parts are PERFRCT repros. Heres a link to a vendor that carries their stuff. https://teamknkhardware.com/product-category/fan-rc/

Very nice, now get it dirty
-
Granted your local hobby shop won't have the hardware you need, sigh. The interwebs does.
-
Lots of people saying they can't find parts. Where are you looking? They are all over online, and fine RC has everything.
-
Ahhh my order number is 1872. I'll call them tomorrow.
-
How do you know what number you are? The order number?
