  1. lots of talk of mad enthusiasts either not being able to get one and/or being limmited to one. i wouldnt be surprised if each Hobby Shop received less than five and the rest were just the ones pre-ordered. The 2013 version languished on shelves. The vintage/rere market other then Tamiya wasnt really a thing yet and AE/Tiger likely loss money on the 2013. They learned their lessons but angered fans with the WE which not everone who wanted one got one. The 40th wil lilely follow the WE business model.
  2. Very nice!
  3. Unless you have a business and/or sell enough cars and parts to cover the associated costs and taxes I do not recommend selling on eBay. Scammers and ebays exorbitant fees make selling anything unprofitable. Pick a price, and sell it on here or a Facebook group. It might not be as fast but you won't have to deal with all the associated eBay garbage .
  4. My amazing parts from Collin are being held hostage by customs in NJ, no darn movement for a month. Time to do what I can. One of the parts I ordered are 3D printed (and hopefully stronger) D1 and D2. Ive got a NOS D parts tree so, going to run it with the old D1/2 and use nylon lock nuts. Here's how they look now, notice the standard nut (not correct) and a press nut that causes ANY plastic it touches to break. I don't see any cracks, those lines sre likely just the mold, hopefully lol. Lock.nutd installed and just barely tight enough to make the mounts secured and not move, hopefully they don't break the D1/D2. If they break the NOS stuff will go on/be saved for shelfer life. Sorry forgot to take Pics before I reassemble. But you can see them. Metal trans brace. Very nice! It's also threaded, eliminates the press nuts used to secure it to the shock tower. TD2/201 slipper. Looks so good and modern! I have an E4 from ORB/Shapeways on the way too. I'll be able to finish the build for now, and run it with the motor/ESC combo, but not to the vision I have. Will have to wait for Collins stuff for that. Stay tuned!
  5. Great point, look at all the pics, if something isn't in the picture ask about it, and don't accept what's in the pic is what you get!
  6. I bet they are coming, I really wanted the Triumph, I thought it was super cool, and very Tamiyaish with it's unique and overly complicated front end and belt trans.
  7. Exactly, the Bruiser and the Avante showed that Tamiya can bring back ANYTHING that they want. Porsche rights too expensive, sure make the Celica instead, Super Astute showed that they can do an Astute bring it, same for the King cab. Lets go Tamiya. WOW us again.
  8. Great deal, get a different body and you are still in for under 165 US.
  9. 100 percent, I miss real AE and Novak. 😞
  10. Kyosho continuing to give it's fans what they want while Tamiya releases another Tamiya Avante. The Avante was a huuuuge deal in 2011(!!!!) , come on Tamiya give us an OG Astute, Kingcab, DynaStorm, or 959.
  11. I did not know that! Wish it was stil made in America!
  12. Now we just need Tamiya to bring it back.
  13. The DF03 are great back yard runners with zero mods needed. Taking them to the truck is a different story and the kyosho would need far less upgrades to make it last a batter pack.
  14. It looks GREAT!!! I love how Kyosho keeps going back to their old stuff to make a new buggy. Tamiya are you paying attention? The TDs didnt do well, revise the DB02, or just make more DB01s with full aftermarket support again!
  15. Great story and car. I'm not sure how I got fixated on the Astute as my first RC. Maybe it was the glossy catalog, Tamiya presence in the hobby store, etc. I don't regret getting the Astute but I might've enjoyed the rc10 more due to its durability
  16. I feel your pain, I think the 30th classic and Worlds car awoke the RC10 collecting frenzy. Kind of like what the Fast and Furious did for Supras.
  17. I agree they won't be discounted , id be surprised if AE doesn't just make what gets pre-ordered. Due to the cough cough Pandemic and the current Potato for an American President (I'm American), the world's economy is a faaaaar different place. Fuel costs alone justify the cost increase.
  18. The plastics cost more, compared to the clear fragile parts on the CC. Where can you buy a NIB Egress for 320?
  19. For sure, all of which you can easily find exceot maybe the drive cups, maybe get a few of thise, that said Ive never worn them out on any of mine but my cars only get occasional use with the kids. Hubs, arms, suspension mounts etc. Ive never broke one on a RC10 and theyve bene ran on 1/8 dirt tracks with brushless/lipo. These were OG stealth cars at that, not new produced stuff. New rere palstics should be stronger.
  20. No modern 1/10 can take that either. That isn't the context of the discussion. Try better to be a better more contributive member of the forum.
  21. The RC10 followed 1:1 racing car philosophy, keep it simple. It's almost impossible to break. The turnbuckles are the only thing you need to replace, they bend very easily due to their thin diameter. I've restored 2 old vintage RC10s. One team car and one worlds car. They take modern abuse well, no mods needed to run brushless or lipos. There's a company making perfect replica parts for the OG RC10s called Fan RC. If you actually brake something they got your back. I'll be driving and racing the 4oth, although with a different chassis!
  22. Pretty cool video from AE.
  23. Its right in line with other quality rere. Its a good price for 2024.
  24. The tops are different BUT the rere Terra Scorcher are the exact same dimensions.
  25. Look, I love Tamiya that said AE does not need the spare support that Tamiya does. You aren't going to brake anything. It's a vintage rere you can get ANYTHING online.
