  1. Good morning, Selling a set of front Monster racer/King Cab tires new in the wrapper. I was saving these for I dont know how many years, I have one more set for me. Selling these. Absolutely perfect. $40 US plus shipping. Ill ship wherever in the world as long as you pay for the shipping. Paypal please.
  2. I just won an auction for a complete KIng Cab chassis for a ridiculous cheap price!!!! This thread is closed! Ill start a new one for the restoration. Fingers crossed this one is better than the last!
  3. I ran a Novak 10.5 brushless with Lipo in my Avante black with zero issues. The gearbox in the Avante is pretty much bomb proof.
  4. Thanks boss!!! Super stoked that I have the rear end the way it was designed again. First time in 20 years!
  5. I had a TMAXX but it didn't scratch my monster truck itch. Does anyone make a real competitor to the Clod/TXT in terms of size? XMAXX doesnt count, 1000 too much money for me.
  6. I'm sure they will, maybe I'll buy a set and see what happens.
  7. And for me a super clod won't due. I need a red OG. I spent all day on the net trying to find Red F parts! No luck!
  8. I keep coming back to this thread for the pictures! RC cars seem to mimic real race cars. What I mean is the RC cars and Race cars of the 80s and 90s performance was about 90 percent of what today’s cars can do with looks that could kill! The new RC cars and Race cars are more capeable but the design and looks leave a lot to desire!
  9. Good evening, another week and another step closer to having a running Astute again. This week parts arrived that restored the rear suspension to the original very over engineered but completely Tamiya 1989 OG Astute spec. Adjustable hubs: Brackets in their original MRC Tamiya bag! In all of its complicated goodness!!!
  10. Thanks for all the tips, suggestions, And offers for help. I'm going to take this chassis and put it away for now. Maybe I'll make a shelter out of it. Once I find another chassis I'll start the build .
  11. Is it a hard body? I guess I could search 😃
  12. Good Afternoon all. I'm still searching for a TXT or Juggernaut chassis to start my next project. As in wait for the chassis I want to start on the body. Does anyone know of a 1974 Ford F250 hard body, I'd like to paint it up as Bigfoot .
  13. Do you have a link and information for the vinyl? I want a better way to protect the bottom of my Astute, Egress, and Top Force then blue painters tape under the belly pan that I currently use.
  14. Very nice! Are you going to run it with the lexan belly pan! That was one part I really regret I didn’t get from Nimrod while they weee around! Are the SA rear arms the same length as the DS ones, as they shorter?
  15. Great points!!! I want a XMAXX in the worst way but I can't justify the four digit price tag.
  16. Guys Ive pretty much decided to add one of these beasts. Where is the best (cheapest) to order one? My usual source RCMart is out!
  17. Good afternoon all, price not an issue. I've wanted a clod since I was a kid. However you can't ignore the tech of the TXT2, but the clod has it all over the TXT2 in looks. So what would you recommend money not an issue?
  18. Alright, CRP tires ordered for the front, rear Astute spec adjustable hubs for the rear on the way, and Tamiya paint ordered! I still need a body, receiver, battery, MCI stickers, ESC, and chose which motor to run. Do I go 540 black, BZ, Brushless.....
  19. Oh man I wish I were by you so I could do it for you. You do not need longer rod ends. Who ever had the shocks before you placed limiters inside to limit travel. You have spacers on your rear shocks which is keeping them from lowering all the way in the body of the shock. You don't need longer rod ends you need to remove the limiters/spacers that are inside the shock body.
  20. Dude take apart the rear shocks, I GUARANTEE there are spacers inside on the rod under the piston that is causing the problem, do it super easy.
  21. Have you taken apart the shocks to ensure there are no spacers inside?
  22. Yikes you are waaaaaay off on the rear. The rears need to be about 85mm. Your front looks good for the length.
  23. I have extra spring retainers and longer rods ends if you'd like em. Where do you live USA, UK,..... Measure your shocks eye to eye what are your measurements?
  24. Slight change of plans, I decided I wanted to go with the yellow CVAs that was on it when I was kid. Im missing one short CVA. Being that I was short a shock and I was itching to do something I experimented a little. I installed the rear shocks upfront with shorter piston rods and spacers get 70mm eye to eye upfront. The extra length adds some needed suspension travel and alows me to keep the stock front shock tower. Out back I used a spare set of King Cab shocks that I shimmed and got to a length of 90mm which is just a little longer than stock. I utilized different springs front and back as well. Dug up my old wheels as well, took the old bald tires off and installed. Im still going to cleaned them up, just ordered tires for them. I also installed a stock motor, I might run it might not. I wanted to see how the car sat with a motor in it. Looks good!!!! Getting there!!!
