  1. Thank you Skottoman, that means alot, I appreciate it, that body has taken me alot of time and it still isnt done. My point and shoot camerra fizzled and the wife is in Cali with the little guy and her parents so no pics. Ill get some up once the decals arive and they are aplied.
  2. Ive got too many hobbies, not enough room for one room to contain, but the wife and little man come first. Here is what Ive got in my Man Cave. Soon it will be vacated as I plan on starting a Factory Five Daytona Coupe build in the garage. Over here we have my 1918a2 BAR on display, yep full rock and roll! Here are a few of my cars, missing are a Re-re Frog and Hilux Monster racer that are at my parents, and an Astute waiting for me to paint its Tamiya body and add real decals. Id like to add that these are ALL runners! Here is my 801XT undergoing a brushless conversion and refresh, Im waiting for short drive shafts, 801x steering knuckles, and a Castle Creations Mamba Max 2200. Alienware M18x with dual 7970s, for when I get a moment to breathe, but like I said the little guy and wife are more fun anyway! Lastly my M14 in a EBR chassis that I just finished assembling, yep too many expensive hobbies!!! And no the weapns are not Airsoft!!!
  3. I just won an auction for an original set of mounty decals! I got them for a steal too. Well Ive finished painting the interior ( I did grey, didnt like the tan), installed the interior and glass. Well partially, I didnt glue in the steering wheel because Im waiting for the decals come so I can add the dash board decal, and I need to install the side mirrors and windshield wipers. Pictures in a bit, Im waiting for the sun to be right above me for some really nice pics!
  4. Any pics yet? Id buy the shell in a heart beat! Instead of painting my spare Id sell it.
  5. He's right, why do you think there is still a missing chevy badge on the clod?
  6. Have fun with the Axial. I just want to add that I love how the Re-re drives. But it isnt a purpose built rock crawler so if thats what you want then the Axial will suit you well.
  7. **** that's going to be pricey.
  8. Thank you for the compliment, it was hard but I made sure to take my time, only did one detail a day. It took me two weeks to paint it. Yes sir Ikk be using the interior that came with the kit, I just ordered the paint for the interior. I just ordered some black bumpers too!
  9. No ESC for mine, I bought a cheap Tamiya one, however with the slipper clutch hop up now available Im going to install a brushless, oh yeah! Do it, you will not regret it. The build is a blast, im trying to figure what to sell so I can build another and paint it box art this time and us emy extra cab for running.
  10. Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments, Im now waiting on some decals (the ones I had werent the best), I just ordered some custom painted rear lights as there is no way I could do them as well as some of you have, and pre-cut letter for the tail gate. If any of you know where I can get some decals please Pm, thank you in advance!
  11. PS After the Avante, Scorcher, Super Shot, and Bruiser Tamiya has proven that they can and will Re-re what ever they want. I was impatient and made my Bruiser a Mounty. Whyt wait, the Bruiser is back NOW, have at it!
  12. YES get it! Go to my Mounty build thread in this forum, if you had a blazer you will probably like my interpretation. Its alot of money no doubt. RC4WD.com has it on sale for 689. I got mine from an ebay seller for a little less NIB. It is a fun build and more modern design than yours but you have to remember that other than the transmission its still 80s tech. The shocks are oil filled, same design as the 80s version, but it has real diffs which adds to its drivability. The suspension is stiff but it drives great, shifts smoothly, and his a hole lot of fun. Again the price is high, but its all metal, the body detail is crazy, and to be honest I think the price is fair for what it is.
  13. Oh its going to get played with!!! I just need to decide if Im going to sacrifice this paint job or the Bruiser one
  14. OK I got the trim painted and the metal stickers applied, polished the body, and installed some of the exterior bits. I still need to paint the interior and get better decals. Anyone want to sell their originals? I need to use the wife's camera, these pics dont do it justice, when its 100% done Ill use her camera.
  15. The masking tape is 3M painters tape and it comes in various widths. It is a very good product as it doesnt stick so much as to pull up painted surfaces, I did wait a week before I masked off for the trim. You can find it at any home improvement store or big stores like walmart. I imagine you can order it online as well.
  16. Wow where did the week go? Ok so here is the grill assembeld, I kept the fogs clear I dont like the yellow color. Here is the rear window before masking to paint the black trim, and here is the cab ready for painting of the black trim. Well that didnt turn out nice, I tried to brush the trim, didnt turn out as nice as I want, Im going to sand it back a bit, re-mask with news paper and spray it to get an even finish, I dont know if Im going to do the window trim now, I dont want to mess it up.
  17. I finished the grill to my Mounty Re-re last night, Ill add pics to my thread when I get home from work.
  18. Nothing my wife hates my cars. I bought a 801Xt, Avante Black, and a Bruiser this year. Thats probably going to be it. We just had our first, going to buy a house and then Im moving to kit cars! Looking at building a FFR Cobra Coupe. To all of you getting new Tamiyas, have fun!
  19. Good tips, hey there original, do you have a replacement front bulkhead (the part that the front arms and shock tower mount to) made up yet/
  20. That'd be perfect, but they never did it for the Highlift Hi-lux (same as mounty body minus decals), if you go to the higlift model page it lists each part you need so im betting they wont for the bruiser either. Tonight Ill mask up the grill and spray a few coats of the Mica. Pics to follow.
  21. There was the special release of the Mounty Body Set complete with decals a few years ago, nothing as far as I know for the Bruiser. You can purchase the Cab, Bed, "Glass", Grill and Bumper (as they are two piece now, they were one piece back in theday) through Tamiya for about 100 US.
  22. Hey bud Im trying to keep this friendly but you are testing me, please do not try and tell me how to spend my money. If you do not like my thread please carry on and go some where else. Do not bring it down with negatvity.
  23. When Im done with this Ill paint the other body, Ill have a Bruiser Body too so I can switch when the mood hits me.
  24. Yes sir, the rear window is included. I ordered the Roll bar from the Highlift Hilux, its chrome is darker than the original, but I like it. As some have stated already and I elduded to make sure that when you pain the body you use a grey primer or else the Red will look pink. I went a step farther and sprayed two coats of metalic silver to give the Mica red more depth, looks unreal in person. Once Im done Ill do a shoot with my Wife's nice Nikkon.
  25. Well I have to disagree with you on that one. The Avante has been out for close to two years now, everyone was sure the Egress was coming as it was just a few parts away as well. Anyone else notice that Tamiya Re-re the original three peice bruiser wheels?! Why the heck didnt they include those in the kit!
