  1. I couldnt agree more, actually the re-re is more a mounty anyway with its one piece wheels and stick battery type battery box. Regardless I dont care, I love that Tamiya brought this back in any guise. lazy Sunday means I got the black part of the grill finished, the bumper finished and the rear window (still masked as I dont want to lift the paint). Tip, I masked the rear of the window as well to save it from over spray. Im going to let the body sit for a week before I mask it for painting all the trim and the underside. Big thanks for to tamiya for including metal stickers for the grill and fenders!
  2. I just finished masking off the rear window (which is included), bumper, and grill and and shot them with their first two coats of primer. Ill get pics up in a bit, thank you for the kind words!
  3. Ok better pics!!! Ill take more tomorrow outside when its sunny, the depth of the paint is AMAZING, I have two flaws that thankfully will be covered by the Mounty decals, one tiny run and I nicked the body some how. I still have to paint one coat on the inside of the body, paint the trim, install the mirrors, windshield wipers, decals, spray some clear etc.
  4. Ive always wanted a Mountaineer, still have the issue from RC Car Action when it was reviewed. I decided to not wait for Tamiya to re-isue it so I purchased a new Bruiser and an extra body set, mounty decals, and roll bar. Since there have been a few Re-Re Bruiser builds already, Ill just cover the body. The build was imensly fun, I started the build in June and have taken my sweet time finishing it, enjoying every step of the way. This is the first hard shell body Ive ever painted. Its been a steep learning curve, but I think its coming along. The body has two coats of dark grey primer wet sanded between each coat, two coats of silver, witch was wet sanded between each coat as well. I just finished aplying the second coat of the TS39 Mica Red. Ill wet sand the second coat, I plan on two more coats of the Mica, than a polish, decals, and then the clear. I think it looks sharp already. *****EDIT**** The pics look like garbage so I took them down, Ill post a current pic of the body and chassis tonight.

  11. Update- Ive been running the truck for a year, Im not the best driver and it has held up really well. No broken parts, only one bent universal. Upon disassembly I discovered differentials that were like new with 100 percent of their fluid and still smooth. Im upgrading to 801x front steering knuckles and hubs (increases steering), light weight chassis, and brushless power. Im no expert with tuning nitros and a year worth of weekends hasnt improved my ability. I plan on purchasing a 801x at some point, the lrp .28 will go there. New motivation will be via a castle creations mamba 2200kv. Ill start an upgrade thread once i begin the rebuild.

  19. This is one of my favorites, It hasn't been driven in anger for years, however it is ready to go. The shocks, suspension, and transmission have been completely rebuilt. It has been modded based on Jamie Booths Astute (Mad Cap rear suspension). Same wheels as the Jamie Booth Astute as well. It was a great runner, but as I said earlier in the post, I haven't used it in years. The chassis is mint, never saw the track. Will make a great shelf Queen or runner. $125 USA plus shipping. Ill ship anywhere, as long as you pay for it. I live in South Carolina, USA, 29906 so you can figure shipping. Paypal, or Money Order.
  20. I purchased this with full intent on building a runner but I never got to it. Includes the impossible to find Red Toyota wheels. This is complete. Needed to be runner: Body, ESC/MSC, Servos, and Tires. Everything else is included to get you running or to have a complete restored truck. $75 USA plus shipping. Many spares included: Large CVA shocks, Suspensions Arms, and Transmission. I live in South Carolina, USA, Zip Code 29906 if you want to figure shipping. Paypal or Money Order.
