  1. I went for the short arms, only installed them on the front. Aided in increasing its steering. Still a competitive truck, you won't regret your purchase!
  2. http://rcproductdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=326&zenid=ba95c4801ab987f0f711784c6d7b59ab Here is the one I was talking about.
  3. Yep, and I forgot who but all you have to do is Google 801xt brushless and you will find it. I GREAT TRUCK!
  4. I love how it drives, it has loads of suspension travel, jumps well, it's attitude is easily adjusted in the air (via the throttle, brakes, and steering wheel), has loads of adjustment, and turns on a dime. I’ve always been a Tamiya guy, Ill never be a world class driver, for my skill level the 801xt is still too much for me, but its fun trying to drive it to its potential!
  5. Good morning all! I pruchased a scrathc and dent 801xt last fall and I have been loving it every since. Im running an OS .28 and it a beast. Ive installed the shorter arms that were the one update that Tamiya released for the truck. Its a fun truggy and Ive been able to keep up with the latest and greatest. However Im a little disapointed that Tamiya hasnt continued to develop it. Anyway, are any of you still driving this beast, or has it been sent to the shelves or ebay already?
  6. The Vajra has an extended wheel bases chassis like the Egress, it will include the shorter prop shaft for the front gearbox. The longer steering rod is included in the Jajra, there is no special hardware for mounting the chassis plates as they are sandwiched between the gearboxes. The one thing not included is the unique wing stay, but any could do, or some MAN, thick piano wire, and a set of pliers should enable you to bend a facsimile.
  7. Other than the rare as hens teeth lower front shock mount what elese is there? You can a great chassis from FIBRELYTE, what else am I forgeting?
  8. I agree, however I purchased another body kit so I can rotate on the shelf (it will be ran! ). Tamiya shouldve released it as a Mounty anyway. The cab, battery box, bed, and one piece wheels are Mounty spec anyway. Regardless, I'm just happy that I can finally own one. I might even purchase an original 750 and transmission for added accuracy.
  9. The 2wd gear had a tooth missing, replaced, smoother than butter now! Thank you for the recommendations, now for paint, going to be a "mounty".
  10. A chassis would be fantastic, I'd convert my BS to a runner egress in a heart beat!
  11. Whether the Egress come out or not you can tell it was planned. I ordered spare vjara suspension parts to convert my BS for better reliability. The parts tree they came on were marked egress and included the once hard to get shock tower mount.
  12. Well the short shock tower might say nay but Holly **** the uber rare egress only yellow springs say yes!
  13. Thanks, Ill check that out tonight, I locked the trans in 2WD High and it still makes the noise. When I first tested it the trans sounded smooth as glass, than I shifted it into different gears and the sound began, now I can get the clunk to go away. Ill try tonight. Maybe I didnt measure that one rod that is staionary correctly. The shif rod is one piece.
  14. How is everyone doing today? My Bruiser is giving me a hard time. I’ve re-built the trans three times and I can’t eliminate a clunk/binding that is in the trans that can be heard and felt when I rotate the spur by hand or when I use the 540. My only idea was to use a different amount of .5 shims between the two gears, I tried adding one more for a total of three and I was still experiencing the same problem. When I go home I’m going to try four and then work down to zero, it’s the only idea that I have. All the teeth look good, ideas?????
  15. Hahahaaha thats too funny....BLACK PAINT!
  16. Ill be able to chime in soon, I jusy finished building my Avante Black, Im using a the Novak 8.5 from my Evo. Once I get some Black pain the weekend and a receiver Ill be able to tun it and report back.
  17. I got this idea from another site. So start listing guys. Where did you order your bruiser from and how much did it cost? I just finished selling off my Revo, extra 3.3 engine, Lap Top Chassis, and a Revo roller chassis. I now have the money for the Bruiser, I just need to find the best buy.
  18. I’ve been wanting to this for a while but my job as US Marine Officer and with a little boy on the way time is in short supply. I’ve had the Top Force Evo for about 5 years now, but it wasn’t until this past year that I decided to take it off the shelf and give it a good thrashing. It’s been running an 8.5 KV Novak Brushless. With this brushless the car flat out flies. The track I run on is like most modern tracks here in America and is composed of clay and dirt, its gripy and fast with a lot of big jumps (its 1/8 gas track). I’ve been running the car with its one way and it turns and breaks right now. The Evo’s suspension handles the woops well and when I do my part it handles the big jumps with aplomb. The transmission shows no signs of wear even with all the horsepower that the Novak dishes out. The ball differentials are still super smooth, and the spur gear doesn’t look to be suffering from transmitting the right now power output of the Novak. Even the much maligned plastic motor mount is fine, I added longer screws to keep the mount from breaking, no metal one needed! The one and only issue is the much documented rear shock tower/gear box. I’ve now broken three!! I do not know what to do to keep it from braking, so the car is going back on the shelf after I re-build it. I’d love to continue to run it, and I might try to use a stock power brushless, maybe the force of the landings from the big jumps are causing the brakes, but how did the factory guys race back than with such a fragile part? In advance, no I haven't been running the uber rare orange wheels or body work with original evo decals, Ive been running it with kyosho wheels with bow ties and my original well worn Top Force body. Pictures to follow when I get home!
  19. Thanks but I was able to order all the parts from Tamiya to include the N parts. I just installed my 8.5 KV Novak in chassis, I had to sand off a little but off of the top deck, I guess brushless are a little fatter than brushed motors. If you go to a really small pinion, say a 18 you probably wouldnt have to. It barely didnt fit.
  20. Im just using the plastic parts for this season when I use it as a runner. I love the gorgeous metal parts BUT I dont want to bend or tarnish them so the Eress/Vanquish/Vajra ones are going on in their place. I just built the diffs last night, wow what a great modern design, worlds better thant he Egress/Astute/King Cab type. I hope if Tamiya re/res the astute that they utilize that design.
  21. I just ordered mine, I couldnt resist anymore. Im going to use it as a runner with the brushless (4.5KV Novak from my brokem TF EVO (darn rear shock tower mount x 3)), im going to replace all the metal parts with Vanquish/Vajra/Egress parts. What is the part number for the Vanquish/Vajra/Egress part that replaces the crash resistant part on the front of the Avante? Never mind, I found the part numbers on the Tamiya Usa Vajra build, they are N1 and N7.
  22. [ Im going to make an Egress rere of my own with one of those. I just need to order a Graphite Chassis set from Fibrelyte.
  23. I plan on making mine a Mounty, I like the body and red better, Im not a big fan of the sleeper. I have the decals, I just need the roll bar and non-sleeper part of the cab.
  24. Ive sent an email to stella, where else are you guys ordering these from?
  25. Ive got a spare astute chassis if you want it for your hop up mad cap.
