Hello everyone, well I have finally purchased a DS. I plan on buying a few key parts from NERO and I am wondering if there is anything I need to make the gearbox and diff survive the abuse that a brushless can dish out? I am new to the Brushless seen, what turn/volt is about the limit at which you want to power a 1/10 car. Thanks.

!. Still waiting to find a review????
2. What happened? The car shouldve ben a success. It fixed the Astutes complexity and lack of suspension travel, had a ball diff, and slipper clutch!! So what happened? Were there ever any reviews comparing the DS against the establishment? Wrong time, right car? After 15 years of lusting after one I just bought one. My FRP/Graphite collection will be complete (Avante, TF, TF EVO, Astute and now DS!!!). But again I ask what happened?

Simple question. Could someone please post a review of the Dyna Storm. I have never been able to find one. Even back in the day when the dyna first came out. Thank you!!

What was great about the Avante was that it was sexy as badword, was a fine tribute of Tamiyas modeling ability and could hold its own if needed against the competition. It might have not been the best but it would do ok on the track and look good on the shelf, you cant say the same about any of her competitors.

Well two more steps toward this awesome car being completed. I have added the famous Technigold (NIB and a bit pricey but worth it) and the correct aluminum washers for the rear wing. The only thig else I need is a CPR unit. I have said it before, but this car is great I can just sit back and stare at it for ever. Once I get a CPR unit I will drive her around my carpeted house periodicly. What a great car, a must for any Tamiya collection along with a SR and a 3speeder.
PS
Sorry for the crapy pic of the motor in the car, one to mant beers tonight.

Well a few months ago I bought a basket caseof an Avante and proceeded to restore her (http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41399&hl=avante). It shouldnt even be called a restoration becasue the onlything reused were the imposible to find ball ends (which I polished). Anyway the first time Iinted the body it was a disater, I didnt have any decals and it lacked a driver. Well I just finished painting up my second body, I now have NIB decals on her and a driver. I hope you guys enjoy the pics. She looks awesome now!!!!!! I just need to decide on if I should fit a Dynatech or a Technigold. What do you guys think?

Is there a Hotshot kit?
-
I would like to buy a tamtech hotshot or hornet, but I cant find them in kit form. Only one i can find in a kit is the porsche, can u guys shed some light and links for me?
-
Man where did he get that GMC grill??
-
A metal spur realy isnt needed unless you are running some sick brushless or nitro.
-
Can you post up that comparo?
-
I got an Avante repro from Kamtec and the quality is as good as Tamiya. I live in the states and had the body in a week.

No the Super Astute spur gear will not work. That spur gear is meant for the sliper clutch from the TTC drive train. If you find a spur gear from the Monster Racer, King Cab, or an Astute they will work.
-
Yes please post that article!!!!!!
-
Now that article confuses things. Just as the RC Racer article said the car handled quite well and was competitive, I wonder why Tamiya didnt come out with a stronger aloy for the Aluminum parts. It sounds like the car started out well and was never developed.

U ARE THE MAN!!!

The TRF501X is a great race car, but it isnt realy a genuine clean sheat desighn like the Avante and Top Force era of cars were. Do you think in 5, 10, 15 years it will be looked back upon so fondly as its older brothers are, even if it does have a better race record?
