Thanks for the reply! I’ve read your post as it caught my attention being the same motor etc. Looks like you did a good job. Any ideas on where I can find info re carb settings etc. I have zero idea. I didn’t realise the head gasket was metal, thanks for that. I’ve also got the original muffler so I’ll be able to track down the gasket kit. Thanks for the heads up re the gasket at the back plate. Can’t wait to get it going again! Very exciting

Hi guys, first timer here. Dug out my mini from the shed after 10 years and looking to give it a once over and refresh. Years ago I had a hobby store replace the engine with a force 12 size as there was some problem with my original FS12-LT. Can’t recall the exact problem but after freeing it up, it seems to be ok? Anyhow, intention is to strip it down and replace some bearings etc and hope to resurrect it and re install to keep it original. How can I free up the throttle on the carby? Anyone know where I can get a piston and liner that suits? Does it have a head gasket that will need replacing? Am I able to order a new exhaust gasket? The battery compartment on board has a crack, can I get a new one etc? Heres a few pics for now, I’ll keep you informed along the way. Thanks!
