  1. Thanks for the reply! How about the servo?
  2. So this is the basket, would anyone change anything?
  3. I’m looking to buy an Egress and I’ve got myself in a bit of a knot looking at motors and ESC’s. I’ve built 5 Tamiya’s over the last few years and this is the first one that hasn’t come with a motor and ESC. So I’m looking for some advice. I’ve searched the forum and quite a few of you have gone for the Sport tuned BZ, with this being a 23t motor this means that no Tamiya ESC is compatible? So I’m looking at a Hobby wing ESC with a Tamiya connector. I am going to run the car but I’m not going brushless as I’m not going the LIPO route and just want a good brushed setup. Could I get some advice on a decent motor/ ESC combo?
  4. It’s what I’ve done and it works perfectly thanks for all of the responses.
  5. Thanks, will give it a go now. Why is the foam pad there?
  6. Hi all, I am working my way through the Tamiya models and have just built my first TT-02 chassis. When I was ordering everything I went for a different servo to what I normally use. The servo in question is a budget Absima and it’s pretty large. In step 25 the instructions ask you to stick a sponge foam to the chassis. For step 28 I had to put the steering linkage the wrong way round due to the size of the servo. All seems to work ok however the steering is very slow due to the servo saver sitting right on the foam pad. I take it I have either done something wrong or I need to buy a different servo. any advice welcome.
  7. I’m intrigued and excited by this fingers crossed it’s great.
  8. I really need to get myself a Grasshopper
  9. Amazing! I’m intrigued by the XV-01 chassis, the motor goes in the front doesn’t it?
  10. Managed to get one while they were briefly in stock at Jadlam
  11. I’m getting pretty fed up with the lack of stock of everything in the U.K. at the min. pretty sure Jadlam will just say they don’t have any updates. They’re a good bunch at Jadlam though.
  12. I have the same chassis and have really enjoyed your posts. I bought mine back in 2003 and it hasn’t run since about 2008/9 and I need to do a rebuild. Nitro is fun when it’s working. When it isn’t working it’s very frustrating. You are right the kit was only expert built.
  13. The only way this would happen on mainstream media is if there was a real RC resurgence in the same way Lego has come back into popular culture. Or if Chris Harris who is a Tamiya geek could pursued the Top Gear producers to let him do a segment on the company.
  14. Just as way of an update, I bought a soldering iron and managed to resolder. I wouldn’t say it’s the best job in the world but it’s worked!
  15. Anyone with experience of this? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/absima-servo-s60ph-6kg-25t-jr-381460 bear in mind this is just for a bit in a car park and will spend will spend a lot of time on the shelf.
  16. I have a ‘98 Escort TT-02 that I haven’t built yet. When I ordered it, I never ordered a steering servo. I am looking to purchase all the bits I need to be able to complete the build today but a lot of online retailers in the U.K. are very low on stock. Could the good folk of this forum recommend a reasonably priced steering servo, which is in stock in a U.K. retailer?
  17. Jadlam have them in stock. Decisions decisions...
  18. Take it you aren’t in the U.K.? I’ve been trying to get hold of a Monster Beetle but they are out of stock everywhere in the U.K.
  19. I haven’t soldered since high school 20 years ago. I’m going to order an iron and give it a go because as you say it’s going to happen again. Thanks for all the comments.
  20. Hi guys, as per the title. Is this just a case of buying a soldering iron. Or is this a perfect opportunity to upgrade the motor 😂
  21. Absolutely loved this build. Not as detailed as almost all of the other posted on this thread but it’s going to be used!
