No, the body will be painted later. I just made the design for the flames. This is a test fit to see if all the shapes compliment the shape of the body. After a couple of days the stickers will be removed and i will make new designs for my webshop.

i have sanded it up to 4000 and repolished it for a smooth finish. Nice build you made.

Sanding it by hand is very difficult with all the tiny lines in the body, i could not get all the paint off by sanding it down. I was afraid that i would get a chemical reaction with two different paint types. So i used a chemical stripper to get it all off. But it is not something i want to do again. Cabs must be unpainted or i will not touch them any more. Normally if all the steps are done correctly then you could sand it and paint over it, but the more you do that the more the body lines will disappear because of the paint layer becoming thicker and thicker and you will lose details if the paint becomes too thick. This one was net prepped for primer, and even no primer on it at all. If i would have just sanded it down a little bit and applied the new paint it would have caused problems later on gauranteed. I took it all off and started with a clean slate.

Here some pictures of the Driver i painted for this truck. I also painted the vains on his arms. The clothes are finished with a matte clear coat but due to the lighting it appears a bit shiny.

Now the pictures of the repainting of the truck. Removing the old paint. Opened up ALL the holes in the grill. Every bit of paint was removed and the body is primered. Colour is sprayed on the truck Repainted the Black items flat black 2K Clear coating the paint. Painted the black areas in flat black. Made GIGASPACE sticker with chrome letters and a tiny black shade. Added a hose to the wipers were the wiper fluid goes through in real life. Painted the sunvisor transparant black. On the picture the transparency cant be seen, it is only visible outside in day light.

I have painted this Mercedes Actros and the figurine that will be behind the steering wheel. The truck was painted before by someone else, but it had so many problems that I was asked to repaint it by my client. It had fingerprints in the paint, dust, hairs, different shades of the colour, some places were not covered, not primered. It was a complete mess. The pieces that should have been flat black were painted gloss. It was painted with an original Tamiya paint colour before , but i matched the colour with my own paint system that has a higher quality and better metallic shimmer to represent the same bluegrey tint that was on it. I opened all the holes in the grill. I made a test of the mixed colour to see if the tonal quality of the colour was OK.

Making a Dashboard with brushed metal that has the same tint of Dark Orange as the stripe on the truck.
