  1. Lovely, great job there ! Keep up the good work.
  2. What is the benefit to get a tight diff on a 2WD ? This is for my Bear Hawk diff rebuild.
  3. @Silver-Can I used pot acrylic paint (X-4). @Kol__ thats Tamiya chrome silver (X-11) and yes after my paint session I got some metallic flakes EVERYwhere... And take lots of time to clean my airbrush. If I ever used this one again, I will paint on my balcony. But the result is really cool. I painted inside first then mask it up.
  4. I would like to know if for a 2WD car, there is an interest to get a stiff diff. Using some AW grease.
  5. Quick updage, paint job done. For a first try with masking art, I'm pretty pleased. I need to fix some aeras with a brush. I don't know if it was that color or a bad batch, but there was some swirls in paint pot, it didn't mix well. Woow shiny. Not that good... Need way more coats. Paint didn't mix well. Tried few dilution, with out any success... And here it is, after loooooooots of layers. I'm eager to put some stickers on it. I found a good source, does anyone ever used some vintage decals ? I don't know if the result will be good and durable. Now it's time to get hands dirty ! Hope to find some time during my days-off.
  6. Nice tips for washers on front damper attachement. I may had some washers, my TT02 get his connector pretty mutch damaged during last postal run. Thanks
  7. I got one, its pretty cool to clean some parts with recesses (soap/hot water) and really conviniante for my airbrush ( hotwater/Glanzer). Works really well for my vape stuff. I may bought another one, cause mine is a cheap one from Amazon.
  8. Received those nice pieces for my next project, front and rear shocks tower. They looks pretty sturdy and arrived properly protected. Thanks to @ALEXKYRIAK for help and his kindness.
  9. Submitted too, that was a pretty fun first track. Thanks ! Here is a petit souvenir from the last one.
  10. Yep. Everyone seems to get the same conclusion, can't wait to build mine and compare it with my rally TT02 Subaru. I will try to use limited hop-ups on this one, dampers and bearings. I'm curious to see how car handles with Sand Scorcher tires. It could be a nice alternative set.
  11. Any reason for the foam on top of the gear box ? Instead of sponge tape. Cool project, I will follow you along that journey I got a Beetle rally lurking in my secret stash.
  12. Woaw impressive job done there, did you choose a color for that sweet baby ? Box art ? I'm tempted to find one and try a pretty smooth coloring. I keep an eye on your project
  13. Only fumes, they just sat for 6-8 hours above 1cm of acetone. You can't imagine my face when I picked up my rims... For a moment it be like rubbing a piece of cheese. Such as in a nightmare and all round you was made from spongee foam... Yep it's exactly what that kept my eyes, that great low profile look. No other Tamiyas offer that vibes, Tamiya really catch the hawk shape, diving on his target. Great to see a new cultist for the Bear Hawk Ancestor. I choose to pick original blue, I deviate a bit. But not too mutch. I really like that blue tint and decals are not easy to match with other colors. I found some red, green and purple hawk but... Meh. If I found another shell, I may try something.
  14. Job done today, ready for paint session. I will paint interior with flat black paint to cover some hard residue of glue, used by his previous owner to attache plastic foil on the inside of the cockpit, and get a nicer finish look. And a huge fail on genuine rear tires, trying to unglue rims. Plastic got melted by acetone fume... I let them sat in sealed box above a little bit of acetone.
  15. @Kol__ thanks. Yes everything well ordered, cleaned, it's a quite relaxing activitie. Yep, I don't know how mutch it could cost for the rear axel. Thanks for your offer.
  16. One of the wheel axle has a notch, I will replace it. Dirty ? Now it's better. Next stop will be some prep for the hard body of that beauty.
  17. First step with the Bear Hawk, everything dissambled and cleaned with some hot water/soap. No parts cracked or in bad shape (nearly). The only bad suprise was tires, they're glued... She definitly deserve a good clean. It seems she got a pretty busy first incarnation.
  18. Thanks for informations, I will take a shot with stock gearing.
  19. @Silver-Can thanks for your answer. Yeah it seems you can use 15T or 17T with Bear Hawk. During my research I found someone saying, despit he picked the smallest one (15T), the Sport Tuned motor runs pretty hot. A TC forum user (can't remember his name) says, you can switch pinions from the gearbox to Blitzer Beetle pinions. This will change overall gear ratios and get the same result as if are you using a 13T pinion. I may try with the stock one pinion and if it's running too hot, I will try with Blitzer pinions.
  20. @Frankster yup same, seems like an good old rusty beetle. Keep it that way.
