  1. Absolutely beautiful @Ferruz great choice with the livery and so well executed.
  2. Great work, Very cool. that’s just amazing! 🤩
  3. That’s perfection @technics . Lovely stuff.
  4. Yes it is. I sold my rere clod a while back. It was very cool but I never used it, it was huge and I purchased it complete so never had much connection to it. The next week I saw the QD listed cheap so decided to grab it. Lovely little truck and goes well with my GF01 Bullhead!
  5. Not much time still for any major builds so I decided to dust off a few unfinished projects and try and get them going again. First up was the SW-01 to Donkey Kong kart build to join my Mario Hornet! Still a few things to do but it’s getting closer with the kids help 🤪 This has been a lot of fun…
  6. The problem is that it seems most of the people that quickly get attention and build followers do so through silly stunts, destroying stuff, etc. Keep doing your thing and building slowly is probably the only sensible and sane way to go!
  7. @wtcc5 I use Flickr. You can get a free account with no real drawbacks and plenty of storage and linking pictures to show here is super easy. Plus Flickr has been around for a long time so don’t think it’s going anywhere soon… <cue the immediate shutdown of Flickr> 😝
  8. Nicely finished! What a start to 2024! What’s next?..
  9. You have nothing to apologise for. As for Wild one; I’m still super excited to see it come together
  10. @Nikko85the Mario kart base I used was the Jakks Pacific: But I also used parts from bigger Mario RCs. I don't remember the manufacturer but they were much larger and I used the engine model and Exhausts: I never seem to have time for RC at the moment but I did dust off the SW01 Donkey Kong ride I started early in 2023. The kids gave me some challenges to add so I’m working on that and hope to finish it this week. I’ve also got another hornet that I’ve shorted even further but I’m not sure how I’m actually going to squeeze all the electronics in it! And because I’m a hoarding idiot I’ve also just purchased a Barbie corvette to RCify! I must have about 10 unfinished projects. So I’m really trying not to buy new kits until I’m all caught up…
  11. My real name is Gareth and since I was a little kids lots of friends just call me “G”. When I was at art college I had long hair which stuck out at the sides, like wings! When I started DJing we chose silly names and my mate that I DJed with came up with “G-Wings”. It stuck!
  12. @Kol__as I said in your build thread, you’re EVO is a thing of beauty. Just so good. @Nikko85 great work as always. What a lovely project.
  13. Great stuff @Collectible Cars. A Tamiya Monte Carlo Mini is very high on my wanted list. Usually when I buy already built kits I just don’t have a connection to them and end up reselling them but the mini is so awesome I think I could buy a used one and just find myself staring at it all day!
  14. Being such an infrequent visitor lately I totally missed this thread until now! Amazing work @Kol__. The level of detail in Chais is matched by your great work on the shell. I know some of what you’ve had to do is to cover for printing errors but I honestly think everything you’ve done adds to the look. Absolutely awesome. I said this when you did your last version but the EVO really does have some amazing lines and stance is so good. I’ve got to get one some day.
  15. @SimTechRC sorry to hear about the situation you are in. I hope you and your family are ok.
  16. Hey mate, I’m no expert but can share my limited knowledge… I purchased a machine made by Cricut. My sisters (both in to scrapbooking etc) told me there were a couple of different companies to consider. The model I got; the “joy”, is pretty much entry level. I actually picked it up used, with a load of vinyl and tools for $150. I bet in the UK there are loads available. My process so far has been: 1. Find or draw a reference image 2. Create the proper layered artwork in adobe illustrator. You could also use photoshop or any number of other alternatives. 3. Load the Cricut software and use the wizard to guide you. It will tell you how to load the vinyl. 4. The machine cuts the vinyl! 5. You then need to go through a process of removing the unwanted vinyl, transferring it to a special transfer tape then applying it to your car body (or whatever) and then removing the transfer tape. 6. If using multiple colours like my flames you can design so that they nestle together or lay one on top of the other. That’s simpler and is the way I went with it! Considerations: a. the machine doesn’t print as such. You are having to form designs from individual colours that get cut in vinyl and then put multiple colours together to form a design. Of course that’s not much of any issue with most RC decals as that’s the way they tend to be anyway. b. It does lettering very well. In fact I’ve done a load recently but just haven’t stuck them on the shells yet. c. you can buy permanent or removable vinyl. The removal seems permanent enough to me and allows you to play around more and not write about getting things perfect first time. d. I’ve only used the Cricut vinyl, you can get cheaper alternatives but given how little I use it didn’t seem worth cutting corners. Better machines have more functionality but even mine can cut paper, card and all sorts of other materials. e. My machine can do very long cuts (metres) but the machine can only take vinyl rolls that are a few inches wide. For most purposes, and certainly for RC use that’s not really an issue. e. The official vinyl is pretty thin but still thicker than Tamiya stickers. Again for most used this isn’t an issue. f. Now that I’ve got the machine it’s made me look at lots of existing cars like the hornet which has fiddly stickers that need to be trimmed carefully and applied even more carefully. I actually think scanning the stickers, cleaning up and doing them through the Cricut might provide a manageable process.
  17. Hi mate, Happy New Year and all that! Just FYI I picked up a cheap Cricut Joy vinyl cutter recently. I’ve not used it for much yet but it can do great detail and very clean cuts, as long as the blade is in decent condition. I did these simple flames for my GF01 bullhead tribute as a first project: What you do need of course is a software package to create decent designs.
  18. Great photos! I love the light and sense of movement. So good!
  19. This is so good @BuggyDad. It looks great.
  20. I’ve said it in another thread but this whole build is so good. Love all the personal touches you’ve added and the co-drivers manual is just 🤩 Another WOW! Where did this beauty suddenly come from? Absolutely perfect!
  21. Brilliant work @bRIBEGuy. Your efforts have really paid off and both the car and interior look fantastic.
