Core seems to be hit and miss between good tins and clumpy splatter tins but if you want why not go a light spray of clear sparkle by Core (cr626) over a plain jett black? Pictures later but the metallic graphite is OK if your going with that
Cool thanks for the heads up about Core paint..
The idea was a line of gunmetal down the middle then metallic graphite on the sides, but the metallic graphite is lighter than I thought, maybe too similar to gunmetal?.. So I may just do plain black on the sides but still interested in the idea of sparkle or transparent silver backed with black.. I may stick to Tamiya PS if the Core paint is a bit hit and miss!
Yes if you've got a pic of sparkle backed with black that would be interesting to see cheers.

Thanks for the pic Sir Crashalot. Looks a bit lighter than I expected so that's useful thanks.

Hi folks,
I'm slowly progressing with my new Terra Scorcher build here and there when I get time.
It's on my mind a lot about a non box art, two tone colour scheme. Has anyone used Core RC "Metallic Graphite" paint for polycarbonate, and do you have any examples to show, so I can see how much metallic sparkle it has in it?
I'm thinking I want something darker than gunmetal, but Tamiya don't do a metallic black.
I considered doing a thin coat of transparent silver backed with black, but being a novice I imagine I could muck it up and get a patchy finish with the silver..
Any thoughts/ advice much appreciated.
Cheers,
Rich.

Do you happen to have a picture of the back of the box for the BZ? It may already list the recommended gears for my chassis. The reason I bought the TZ over the BZ is that the TZ is slightly cheaper with the same exact performance and many say the dust cover is useless anyway.
Here you go.. I bought a BZ motor last week and still have it in the car, box pic attached. There's nothing specific on the box re: chassis types, just the same gear ratio range as in the instructions..
I've bought a re-re Terra Scorcher which I'm currently building. I've not looked into ratios, I'm just fitting the BZ with a 13T steel pinion that I've seen recommended, as there was talk of motors getting too hot with a bigger pinion.
Necessary I think also as I'm putting bigger diameter tyres on than stock which will lengthen the gearing; the BZ spins a lot faster than a silver can so think the car will still be faster overall?.. If not I 'll upgrade it some more!

So, What Have You Done Today?

Looks very good! I'm getting there with my Terra Scorcher build, should be fitting the front and rear assemblies to the chassis tonight and putting wheels on. Mine will look a bit like yours, I've bought gunmetal and black for the body but not painted it yet.. For my shocks I've Rit-dyed the CVA's black and they've come out well, may go for hi-caps at a later date but we'll see..
