Nice. Where were they from?
Løten RC-Shop here in Norway. I see they are already back to normal price by now, which should be 38,25£.

Me too like TurnipJF. It's a cool and fast track, if you are on high grip surface. It would be nice to find a dry spot and test the M-05, but I do not know where that could be atm.

Today I had the first go on snow with the Thunder Dragon. It was -2C with dry and light snow, so perfect to do long 4wd drifts. I'm impressed with how good the Thunder Dragon has turned out on loose surface and now on snow. It is so predictible and it behaves pretty much like I'm used to with my Audi 80 quattro on ice tracks. But the Thunder Dragon has like 1200 HP when compared to scale.

That's wet, Tamiyastef. But it is fun for sure to pilot the XV around. I am doing soldering on mine, but probably get to try it this week. The challenge is to find a tarmac parkinglot without salt.
I've tried this track 3 times now in mainly damp conditions. Inspired by those of you who use a blower I braught a rake with me, so I can clear off the small stones and loose stuff in the ideal line. That helped a lot, so now the second stint mostly is better.
Yesterday we got the first powdercoat of snow and now it's completely white outside, so now my markings of the track are gone.

Waking up this fred with this good offer, which has the last day today. This is half the price compared to the price here in Norway and equivalent to the price for a Fire Dragon no ESC here. Løp og kjøp like we say it here

That's a lovely flat. They are simply adorable with their crooked nose, long ears, hump on the head and waggeling right up till the neck when happy
. I have a lab, whose level of activity and stress is nothing short of a flat.
Enjoy the sløøuuiw build
. I got myself a second hand XV-01 recently and think it's a nice candidate for onroad in rougher /Wetter conditions for the Postal Racing.

I think it would have been nicer and more looking like the WO if the chassis had silver plastic. The bright blue is not so sparkling with all that black plastic. I also have to say that I love the squashed roofline of the original Hotshot. I did from the day I first saw it in the Leker & Hobby-catalogue as a child
That said I love the fact that the Hotshot 2 is back and I think this version is a nice Interpretation of it - even with the higher roofline.

Thanks a lot for your effort during challenging days. It is much appreciated. That said this is not a contract which has to be fullfilled. If things are way above your head and your attention is much needed elsewhere, it is perfectly legal to withdraw and concentrate on what is really important. You gotta remember we are the nicest community out there

I wish all the best for you and your family

Now I know what to do after work

Inspired by the recent success of @Tamiyastef in the latest Postal Racing and the fact that an Optima Mid financially is out of reach now I treated myself and bought this second hand, nicely hopped up XV-01. In addition to the blue bits it also has a SS BZ, HW 1060 and it also came with a Fs GT2b. It was well within the budget of the silvercan rallye build of. All I need to do is to solder on a Deans connector on the ESC and make new cables for the motor. I think I am gonna use bullet connectors, as I already have that in the parts bin.

I'm happy that the Hotshot 2 is bought back. I need some time to like the Blockhead-interpretation. I immideately liked tho WO when it came out - even though I liked the version of Silvertriple even more. His version simply looked like a thing for grownups and not a toy.
@BubbaGump365's version is mint. I presume that the BH-version comes prepainted. That is a petty. It would have been nice to do your own Interpretation. The decals and other BH-stuff is nice. I even like the yellow shocks.
For me it's rude that Tamiya releases the Hotshot 2 now. I need that money for an Optima Mid.

As a child the Hotshot was up there as THE buggy to have. I never got it. Got a Nikko Dictator instead (which I still have).
When I this year wanted a 4wd for the winter one of the Hotshot -family buggies crossed my mind, but I did not want the hassle with the narrow chassis. The Thunder Dragon without ESC was dirt cheap, so it became my monoshock-alibi. It performs really well, is simple to maintain and did not cost a fortune. My tip is the Thunder Dragon and start saving for an Egress, if that is what you really want.
Allthough an Optima Mid or a Turbo Optima is the end solution for me (as a hommage to my Kyosho Burns, which I never run anymore) , but I cannot justify the costs for one with the current living costs here.

@Andreas W, @Busdriver painted his TD-4 British Racing Green with yellow. Looks great and pays homage to older racing cars
Yup. Remember it well. This was one of the first TD-4 which changed my mind about the bodystyle of this buggy. Just pure and simply well done

Nice Madcap, Frankster! This paintscheme would also have looked good on a TD-2 or TD-4.

Congrats, TurnipJF. That was a respectable lapcount. Ferruz is right behind. Both of you have numbers out of this world
.
Looking forward to the next round. It's gonna bee loose surface for me the next months, but I am getting a better feeling with the Thunder Dragon for each run

A Delta will always move my (VW/Audi) heart. It is just so lovely.
You should get a runner-body and make a road-version. Red is a colour that suits a spicy italian and has good visibility. I remember rally driver, Runar Pedersen, had a red daily in addition to his red rally car when I was a youngster. A neighbour was his mechanic, so I was a curious neighbour . They used my neighbours VW T2b with not exactly lame Type 4-motor to pull the trailer. At least in the beginning. A red Lancia Delta therefore gives me good memories.

Made the first attempt since Friday today in superb conditions. The surface is damp, compact and in the ideal-line are the small stones gone. The Thunder Dragon made two stints on par with the best directly, but with some mistakes,so potential for more. I was modest with the throtle today, so I tried a third stint. I got a near clean run. I was going too early and/or hard on the throtle three times,so got too much on power drift, but stayed within the line. I then found an extra lap, so now is the Thunder Dragon only 2 laps behind the Golf (it has to be said that the Golf got only three stints and that will be all).
It is no problem to see where the track is now.

In addition to the mentioned guide I also read this guide from Martin Sørlie throughly (starting years ago, since I bought the kit back in 2013).

Based on my limited experience with this chassis I would not even bothered building it without includes bearings, dampers and a steel pinion. If you are driving on tarmac 20t is the only pinion size you need. Even with good throttle management and plenty of AW grease in the diff the balance between good accelleration and wheelspin is fine. Then you will have a nimble, well driving onroad car for grownups ... Before you find out that you want an alu steering and you need to think about how to get rid of the heat
.
There is plenty of possibilities to burn off some serious amount of cash on this chassis. After a while there is time to take a good cup of tea and think about moving on to a M-07, but that is for later.

The TD made it's first trip to Imola yesterday on NIHM. Allthough it was pretty fast it was not convincing. I put the stick pack LIPO into it today and that was a revelation. Now the TZ and drivetrain is screaming and sound like a R34 Skyline in GT2
. It has rained an awful lot the last week, so the once superdry and dusty gravel is now become semicompackt and damp. That gives good grip once the loose stones on top are cleared away.
The TD feels crisp and the accelleration out of corners is superb. Makes me think about how good an Optima Mid must be... There is potential for more.
The Tomahawk worked really good on this surface. There is so much fun hitting the apex in drift with the inner front wheel round after round when you get in the zone and find a good flow. It was one lap ahead of the TD in both stints.
All in all a good experience today with the spaceship and the proper buggy.

Good to see that the trusty Terra is still working great. It is allmost sensational that at least one lower arm did not break.
I finished the Thunder Dragon this weekend. It has alu A5, universals in front, suspension shafts throughout and I have also made sleeves for the inner mounts on the lower arms. It is finished meaning it is drivable. As the TD-body is nothing for me I have bought a Terra Scorcher body and an orange Javelin spoiler. In the end it's gonna be a Dirt Thrasher lookalike in Gulf livery.
No debut for it today, though. My wife has the grand opening for an art exhibition today, so no room for any detours on the way home from work.

Thanks for the help. I have read your thread about your near stock TD through and through the last weeks, so I think this will be a fine, relatively cheap winter driver.

I am building the Thunder Dragon ATM and have come to the shocks. I'm gonna use internal spacers and think about choosing the 6mm, as I do not need the ultra high ground clearance, but with 2,2 wheels it will still be pretty high.
I have 750cst for the front and 400 cst for rear. The question is how many holes in the pistons front and rear? I have pistons with 1,2,3 and 4 holes in the kit and the parts bin.
I will mainly drive it on frosen/rock solid gravel/dirt in the Postal Racing during winter.
