  1. Thank you GeeWings. I'm sure a lot of us have similar memories 🙂
  2. That looks great. Makes me want to get a WW2 now 😁
  3. Dude you are an absolute legend. The Black Edition comes with springs etc and the mounting brackets for the shocks front and back so I only need those yellow Neo Scorcher parts which I've just ordered Seriously I'd have never found that out
  4. I have a Thunder Dragon and the shocks on that are significantly larger than the front GH2 Shocks that come with the kit. The rears would probably work but the fronts I don't think so
  5. Honestly I have no idea I think the ones on the front were quite short as the originals are referred to as Mini CVA Shocks I think
  6. I am pretty chilled about having it 100% accurate as the main thing is body and wheels for me, I've got a set of stickers and a set of yellow wheels on the way that aren't originals but are 2.2 versions so I'm ok with that and the body I'll just paint white. The other hurdle is the Yellow Shocks which I can't find or even find a current version of so it'll be the kit grey ones until I manage to source something closer. Perhaps in time I'll get it spot on but there's no rush as I'm just enjoying myself and that's what it's all about
  7. The memories of 1989 and watching my Dad build this very slowly after he'd finish work in the weeks running up to Christmas that year. The anticipation, excitement and emotions are still very vivid even now. This is going to be a special trip down memory lane The aim is to make this into a Super G however I had decided that and bought the kit before I realised just how hard some of the Super G parts are to find. So it may end up more of a Franken G in the end but I'm ok with that.....I think
  8. That truck looks great. How big is it once finished ? Can you get trailers for it ?
  9. This is cool i do love a restoration project. Looking forward to the updates
  10. Thanks for the reply. I did see those JC wild one wheels last night and also saw the hex adapters as well for the rear wheels so looks like it's probably the way to go Crazy just how rare the wheels are
  11. All finished. Decided to go red on the crash lid in the end Good fun build and the car itself looks great. If your on the fence about this kit if you've never owned it or if you did back in the day. I say go for it
  12. No doubt this is a huge long shot but it's worth a go. I'm looking to try and get hold of a set of Day Glo Yellow wheels that came on the Grasshopper 2 Super G I've no idea if they also appeared on other cars as I'm far from a Tamiya expert I've added a pic just incase it helps. This is probably going to be wild goose chase for me and I'm sure many of the members will be having a right old chuckle at my quest but if you don't ask
  13. Finishing touches (sounds like a dodgy 80's porno) underway
  14. That's my lot for the day. I've been at it since before 9am 😁 Just the driver to finish off as i need some blue paint for his crash helmet and lettering on the tyres to do and then it'll be all finished
  15. They precut the body but not the decals. Come now Mr Tamiya so close to being a 10/10 build 😁
  16. Chassis nearly there Hands up if putting the wheels on is your favourite bit 🙋🙂
  17. Mate don't play with my feelings now. They don't make em like they used too 😁
  18. Ugh not my most favourite bit. I'm growing to like bodyshell painting but driver paint is not fun when your a bit kak handed with little brushes
  19. Tub progress the steering setup is a bit funky on this car 🙂
  20. Well blow me is this actually how your meant to use the Tamiya tool holder
  21. Dude if your going retro you may as well go the whole hog with the snacks as well
  22. Front and Rear gearboxes done and today's snack of choice is the humble Tuc Cheese Sandwich crackers 😋
